Yeah, Min.us seems to be down right now so it should be back to normal once it's all 100% again.Jintor said:The OP's images are gone from my connection ;__;

Yeah, tell me about it. I used to think these were just glorified otaku masturbatory material until I was made aware of Saya no Uta. Now I'm a believer, so to speak.Dynamite Ringo Matsuri said:Pretty funny that I was just watching my coworker play Chaos;Head a year ago and laughing at his ass for being such a god damned weeaboo and now I'm going to dive in myself haha
The irony, considering some of the scenes in that might as well have been in a hentai!trejo said:Yeah, tell me about it. I used to think these were just glorified otaku masturbatory material until I was made aware of Saya no Uta. Now I'm a believer, so to speak.
Eww. If anything, those scenes are like the antithesis of arousing.Lafiel said:The irony, considering some of the scenes in that might as well have been in a hentai!
This has never stopped hentai before and I doubt it soon will.trejo said:Eww. If anything, those scenes are like the antithesis of arousing.
Sounds like most hentai.trejo said:Eww. If anything, those scenes are like the antithesis of arousing.
I don't think I've ever once read a VN sex scene and ideally I use fan patches to remove them if possible. Really, they're a blight on the genre and a big reason why they're not looked at.Niblet said:So here is a question I have for you fellow Visual novel players -- particularly those that play eroge: How do you feel about eroges as masturbation material?
You'll pretty much be limited to games that run in Nscripter for that since they have an executable for OS X. Otherwise you'll have to use parallels or Bootcamp for everything else.Septimus said:Any of these games available for OS X or no?
A valid point.Ridley327 said:This has never stopped hentai before and I doubt it soon will.

If there's one thing that the internet has taught me, it's that people are into some fucked up shit. And I'm sure in the grand scale of things, Saya falls on the tamer end of the spectrum seeing how there's fuckin' weirdos out there jerkin' it to guro and shit. In the case of Saya, it had to be there since the story depended on that aspect. In any other case though, I personally don't get it, just watch porn if you're feeling frisky. It's got way more frames of animation hahatrejo said:Eww. If anything, those scenes are like the antithesis of arousing.

Anyways, I'm kinda buying into the 999 hype but it's kinda really freakin' expensive over here, not to mention I'd have to buy/borrow a DS. Just exactly how awesome is it?

All it took was the suggestion that it was Lovecraftian, even. It's odd how Saya is a better bait-and-trap than something more 'accesible' like Fate or Tsukihime.trejo said:Yeah, tell me about it. Fate/stay night was my first VN, and i couldn't even finish it. (due to how long it is). Plus the writing quality of it didn't seem to be that great anyway, to much exposition that seemed to drag for hours. I did like the characters and found some of the plot to be fairly interesting though. 999 + Saya no uta seemed to have gotten me interested in the genre compared to F/S/N & Umineko.Dresden said:All it took was the suggestion that it was Lovecraftian, even. Bout 70 bucks or so, plus shipping. If it really is the best thing since sliced bread, though, I might have to bite the bullet.Ridley327 said:It is a genuinely fantastic game from top to bottom, but how much are they asking for it in your neck of the woods?
What can I say? I loves me some Lovecraft.Dresden said:All it took was the suggestion that it was Lovecraftian, even. It's odd how Saya is a better bait-and-trap than something more 'accesible' like Fate or Tsukihime.
I blame that on a limp first arc. Never understood the love for Saber and quite possibly the douchiest version of the douchiest main lead ever.Lafiel said:Fate/stay night was my first VN, and i couldn't even finish it. You never did reply to the pm, so I figured you were so horribly disgusted with it you just didn't want to deal with it anymore. Was gratifying to hear you enjoyed it.trejo said:What can I say? I loves me some Lovecraft.

God DAMN that's twice the MSRP!

You honestly thought 999 was bad? Oh boy... You're in for some real fun then...Jintor said:Jesus, even in Australia it was only about $40 from Amazon...
/edit anyway, I'm tracking down Saya no Uta now. If I get nightmares from this I'm blaming all of you bastards. 999 was bad enough and it wasn't even that bad!

Is it Lovecraftian?InfiniteNine said:Glad to see some more followers in the church of Saya! Although my suggestion of Sharin no Kuni seems not be reaching others ears.
Nope, the only other lovecraftian one in English I know is going to be Demonbane and that isn't even out here yet. Same developer as Saya.trejo said:Is it Lovecraftian?
It doesn't help that sharin no kuni looks a tad generic? (based on the art and cover).InfiniteNine said:Glad to see some more followers in the church of Saya! Although my suggestion of Sharin no Kuni seems not be reaching others ears.

People are judging books by their covers now? Such blind judgement! It's genuinely good!Lafiel said:It doesn't help that sharin no kuni looks a tad generic? (based on the art and cover).
Art isn't anything special (it really is animu10), but the VA is top-notch and the VN as a whole is damn nice.Lafiel said:It doesn't help that sharin no kuni looks a tad generic? (based on the art and cover).
That's a shame. The themes fit so well with these. Chaos; Head looks promising, though. Maybe I'll look into it.InfiniteNine said:Nope, the only other lovecraftian one in English I know is going to be Demonbane and that isn't even out here yet. Same developer as Saya.
