So... how much choice do you think a visual novel could have? I ask because as far as I can tell most visual novels have a very limited branching structure due to their dependance on narrative, often with a single ending being the 'true' ending that ties up the entire story. They are, after all, 'novels'. But I'm wondering if it would be possible to create some sort of VN that didn't depend on a pre-set character.
