I watched hte last few eps of last year during the summer on Space (and really, it didn't suck nearly as bad as the show did when I stopped watching) but I SWEAR I saw the last episode and it ended with the Enterprise still trying to stop the weapon.... what the hell did I miss because the previews show freaking nazi aliens?! The eps I saw was a total cliffhanger that didn't even show the Xindi being really stopped, unless I somehow blacked out the last 5 minutes.

being watched
As Archer is thrown in Gulag NCC1701 a hologram from the future will be projected giving him vital information from the future T'Pul, whose now a genetically enhanced cyborg, using Borg technology, which she uses to open a sub-space quantum fluxometre transwarp envelope to restabalise the space-time continium.

Future Guy steps out of the shadows and reveals himself to be William Shatner, where he sings Common People, which shatters the ear-drums of the Nazi aliens, their achilles heel being acute hearing and the crew of Enterprise retire to watch re-runs of Allo Allo.

That would be the best episode ever.

And at the end, Brannon Braga kills himself. Everyone would be happy!

I liked it

But Archer and that chick have the whole Picard/black chick vibe that happened in first contact

AND LOOK ITS THE SULUBAAN!

They always seem to show up in the season premieres then disappear...
I hope Archer kills Hitler :p

Looks like this season may be good (from the Digital Bits):

One last note today - tonight is the season premiere of Star Trek: Enterprise on UPN. I envy those of you who get to watch this in high-definition. UPN 13 here in L.A. hasn't joined the 21st Century yet unfortunately. But tonight's episode, Storm Front, Part 1 starts to wrap up last season's Xindi plotline (it's a decent ep - I've seen it). The Xindi arc will conclude next week in Storm Front, Part 2, and then I predict this show will start really getting interesting (so stick with it). The third episode of the season will take us to Vulcan, then we'll get a 3-episode arc about the Eugenics Wars (you remember - that's where Khan came from in the classic episode Space Seed) co-starring Brent Spinner and featuring the return of the Orions from The Original Series. Following that, there's a 3-episode Vulcan Civil War arc planned that will set our favorite purveyors of logic back on the straight and narrow path, a single-ep story about the guy who invented the transporter, and then a 3-episode arc that has those damn Andorians up to no good (with the Tellerites along for good measure). All this will lead up to the beginnings of the Federation later in the season. New show runner Manny Coto is really working hard to make this season a Trek fan's dream, so be sure to tune in and see for yourself. I think you'll enjoy it.

that ep was great...

i also liked the chris rock-esque reference (even though i doubt it actually was a reference to his line in that comedy special) where the chick was talking about
the tank rolling down flatbuah avenue

and i had to download it because UPN pre-empted it for the fuckin Yankees game!!@ though on the good side, i did get the HDTV version...

I quite liked it, but I've never had a hate on for the time travel plot. The episode summaries above sound like the show might be getting back on the original track though, which is good.

IMDB says Brannon Braga has retired, and that Berman is backing off, and Manny Coto is taking over completely, which is interesting. Although it appears the Xindi plot is basically his pet project (because of Odyssey 5 being cancelled mid-arc), so to a lot of fans I guess he's not on to a good start.

Did anyone catch the credits? Have the EP/P credits changed?

Well from what I just read about the next 7-8 eps, this is what I was expecting from the series for the past several years. Eugenics wars, Vulcan civil war.... the founding of the federation? THIS is good stuff! I now have a reason to watch with interest instead of fear. Strange that they would do the Eugenics Wars with no cameo from THE MAN!

I'm glad Grandpa porked a Chinese Muslim
I thought the Eugenics Wars were supposed to have been in the late 20th century in Trek canon?

Now that's what I like to see GAF, much better, some Ent love. Season 4 will rock! And Braga is really taking a hike, maybe more will come!! But damnit, I fear Friday night will kill it :( Fuckin UPN.

It did. It started in 92, Star Trek Time. I just saw the season premier and i must say it's pretty fucking good. I really don't see the problem with the nazi aliens as almost all time travel stories in Sci fi have aliens changing the time line.

I missed Friday's premier airing, but I was able catch tonight's repeat airing. "Storm Front, Part I" was good as an episode in itself. The direction of stories of Season 4 is going really should have been done with Season 1 in the first place.....but we have to thank Rick Berman for that, right? What a clod.

Anyway, bringing in Brent Spiner (and supposedly William Shatner) for this season really is a valiant attempt to win back viewers, but I'll give Manny Coto the benefit of the doubt and a chance for his story arcs to be entertaining. UPN needs to be burned for slotting Enterprise on Friday nights, but oh well what can be done now? Fire up VCRs and TiVos that's what. :p

Back to the premier episode:

I found it lame that Trip and Mayweather blew up the shuttle just because. And Vosk and his temporal hoodies' need to die for jacking up Daniels. Bunch of sickos!

They had to blow up the shuttle, can't let the technology fall into the wrong hands...just like in Blackhawk Down when they blow up the helicopter so the Somali's don't get at it....

If there's one thing I think they can be forgiven for moving, this may be it. But I wouldn't rule out time travel on this one.

If they restore the timeline, it wouldn't matter right? :D

If they restore the timeline does that mean that the last 4 seasons of Enterprise are useless? :p

Or will Enterprise be aware of the changed timeline

We can only hope that the end of stormfront will serve as a big reset switch for much of the crap from the past 2 seasons.

Personally, I saw little bits and pieces of writing in the episode that are hopeful to me. The new guy in charge, Manny Coto, has great potential as a writer. However this episode was hurt as a season premiere largely for 2 reasons:

1.Coto was given the unenviable task of cleaning up the Nazi cliffhanger from last season. I pity him.

2. It broke Star Trek tradition with a -2 part- premiere. This prevented the cliffhanger's other shoe from actually dropping in the first episode of season 4. Now, I can see some reasons why this was done... Coto is a good writer who isn't afraid to take his time with plot development and story arcs. It may be this season that Enterprise develops a flow unlike any other Star Trek season. We'll see.
