I'm not sure how many of you know this or may have missed it but Moonlight game streaming (the ability to stream your gaming pc to a device at very high quality) is available on xbox consoles and what's more is it's better than any other device at being a client such as steam deck docked or ally x.

I found out about two things yesterday that if you go to edge on your xbox and go to the github for moonlight there's a hyperlink thingy to open the ms store on xbox and download Moonlight UWP.

It allows 4k HDR 120fps, It works with all xbox consoles including one consoles. I'm using it with a series s to stream my gaming pc to my living room and it works absolutely flawlessly.

Here is the link:

Of course you need sunshine set up on your pc.

The second thing i discovered is a branch of sunshine called Apollo which automates HDR and resolution switching out of the box with the install its a one stop shop and allows you to stream to devices like the xbox the steam deck ally and phones and will turn hdr on and off for you, match the hz of your client and the resolution by creating a virtual display on connect and removing it when ending sessions leaving your PC as it was.

I was previously running a long HDMI and USB hub from office to lounge tv but this has eliminated that need.

Only issue i have found so far is it can be slightly more chopy than native but think it can be resolved by adjusting the bit rate which I maxed out at 150
