the other day, i was watching and Road Warrior Animal came out and beat up these two guys, and they challenged him to a tag match, and the other partner was like "He can't have a tag match...cause his partner's DEAD!" and started laughing. I laughed too, but i still thought it was pretty fucked up.

That reminds me of another one. The night Hawk refused to wrestle, climed the jumbotron and threatened suicide because of his depression.

hehe I remember that.

Oh, and I like how you were upset about the whole shooting a gun thing, but you fail to mention that austin broke into pillman's house. :lol (If I remember correctly, that's what happened)

It wasn't a deliberate attempt. My intentions were to diss the whole piece not just the gun part. I remember that whole show being butchered by them cutting to the house every five minutes with no significant evolution and then with 5 minutes left Austin breaks in, Pillman freaks and shoots and the they cut to commercial and end show. I have no problem with self defense and that issue but does it really need to be brought up on a wrestling program?

No moreso than Jake Roberts' wife or the Undertaker's family being burned, etc.

It's just a part of the show, and it was paced in a way to keep people watching the show. I have no idea what the date was of that episode, but I'd be willing to be it rated higher than current WWE stuff... and that was 96, when they had a slim roster...

It was 96.

edit -

Pillman's got a gun

On the November 4, 1996 episode of Monday Night Raw, Pillman took part in the infamous "Pillman's got a gun" angle with Steve Austin. Austin and Pillman had been feuding for several weeks, and Austin had finally decided to take matters into his own hands and visit Pillman at home. Meanwhile, WWF interviewer Kevin Kelly sat in Pillman's house with a camera crew and the Pillman family, while Pillman's friends surrounded the house to protect him. Austin was attacked by Pillman's friends as soon as he arrived, but soon subdued them. He then proceeded to break into Pillman's home and advanced on his nemesis. Pillman responded by producing a 9mm Glock and pointing it at Austin, while Kelly and Pillman's wife Melanie screamed for help. The camera feed was then disrupted, with the scene fading to back. The on-scene director contacted commentator Vince McMahon and reported that he had heard "a couple explosions". The transmission was restored shortly before the end of Raw, and viewers witnessed Pillman's friends dragging Austin from the house while Pillman aimed the gun at him and announced his intention to "kill that son of a bitch!"

The entire incident was staged, but the resulting controversy, preceded the WWF's "Attitude" era, and their television deal with the USA Network was jeopardized, as USA had just moved Raw back one hour to better compete with WCW's Monday Nitro. The WWF eventually apologised profusely for the entire angle.
