I saw it last night and it was really disturbing on a lot of levels. Seeing a 10 year old Palestinian kid make a homemade grenade and talk about killing an Isreali was fucked up. The end is what really disturbed me though.

Spoiler:
At the end of the documentary, the people making the documentary are trying to leave a Palestinian house while holding a white flag when a Isreali tank opens fire on then and kills the cameraman. They were going to make a part about Isreali kids, but dying put an end to that.

Seeing that happen while they were filming really shocked me. Anyone else see this? It was really fucked up. On a side note, HBO documentaries are the best, this one was up there with 'Murder on a Sunday Morning' in how disturbing it was.

I've heard about this from several people... will definitely check it out when I can.

But it's bound to depress the hell out of me :(

People there hate each other because that's what they're brought up to do.

It's crazy seeing a really young kid making grenades and being used as a lookout for militants because they 'won't shoot a kid' or however they put it.

I think a lot of the hatred also comes from the suffering. Remember the mother was telling her son she wanted him to live and be successful. It sucks they couldn't show the other side of the conflict either. I didn't know how it would end when I was watching it, so I was anticipaitng seeing the Isreali side as well. It is easy for us to say it is wrong to hate sitting over here, but that is human nature. Hate comes much more easily then understanding and pity.
