Ever17 might be coming to Steam ? (Spotted in Steam DB)

Updates to the Steam database as shown on steamdb.info don't mean anything unless there's content being added or changed. In this case no content was ever added or any details about the game even uploaded to the Steam database. Sometimes a change in the Steam database means everything gets an 'update' but the specific content in the database hasn't changed. See http://steamdb.info/faq/#changenumber for more information. The Steam database can be pretty confusing, sometimes the reasons for things changing isn't always clear.

To clarify, updates reported in the registry don't necessarily mean anything (obviously masked apps that have nondescript updates 10 times in a day are being actively worked on, for instance), but it's not overly difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. Ever17 may be dead but it's clear that Owlboy still lives despite the complete lack of public info, for example.

Good point. I hadn't actually seen one active but masked like that before. I feel like I wish I had never looked into it though. It's a shame to think there isn't an easy way for people to get these games at the moment.

I recently played this and while it was kinda slow at the beginning, if you stick with it you will not regret it. I was glued to the screen for 2-3 days and ended up getting 2 hours sleep when I had school the next day. Tip: Only play the true route when you have the next day off.

Even if it doesn't make it to Steam, you should do yourself a favor and play this game, because it's amazing. Really good. I'd say one of the best VN's I've ever played. It got me really interested in exploring the genre further. This was the first infinity series game I've played, and now have played all of them that are available in English.

It does take multiple playthroughs for the true ending, and yeah, there is a text skip function but it is pretty slow compared to other games..but it's all worth it!

The game lulls you into a false sense of security by the time you wrap up the fourth ending, only to have the true ending route start by blowing up your face with a twist you never saw coming.

Alright, ill definitely play it this weekend. I really didnt play much at all (didnt even finish an ending) but I hate to admit it but i wasnt as hooked as i thought Id be. The beginning was really boring for me, then I kinda wandered off into some of my back log.

While were at it, has anyone played Never 7 and Remember 11? How are those?

Never7 has more slice of life/romance stuff, which I'm not a fan of in general, but there was enough mystery/intrigue to make it worth playing for me. Remember 11 is the complete opposite. It's ruthlessly paced and leaves no room between trying to make sense of your bizarre situation and struggling to survive. It's much more chock-full of uncertainty, suspicion, and hopelessness than Zero Escape or DanganRonpa, and it's awesome. The only problem is that the devs essentially went bankrupt before they could make a proper "true end", so you're left to use the TIPS system to piece together a good number of the mysteries on your own. I think what they did with the ending is actually pretty clever if you think about it.

Always wanted to played it, but heard it needed multiple playthroughs to get to true end and doesn't have text skip option. Is it worth it? I loved 999 and VLR.
The ending is as good as 999's or VLR's, but playing all three in the same timeframe diminishes the impact because they are obviously all written by the same author.

I'd also say that E17 has easily the worst pacing out of the three games. 999 and VLR both do a pretty good job of keeping you interested throughout most of the game. The first few playthroughs of E17 are incredibly boring, and the game generally requires you to slog through a few story paths like that before things start getting interesting.

Even though I heard that the story in Ever17 has similar plot twists to 999/VLR and that those games do it better, I'd still like to play this game. Uchikoshi's works need more love so hopefully it comes out so his stuff can reach a greater audience.

pls gib

Went through Remember 11. Serious letdown, at least in terms of the ending. IIRC its release was rushed due to going overbudget, so the ending stops seemingly with a whole 'nother portion untold, and is really unsatisfying. If you loved Ever 17, you'll probably really enjoy Remember 11 up until the end, but in hindsight, I'm not sure I really felt it was worth going through it just to be so let down.

If this is true, and you're a fan of the Zero Escape series, READ THIS VN. It's a great story with plenty of twists. I wonder if they'll bother fixing any of the translation problems....

EDIT: Oh, well, I still hope it comes...
