People are messed up. Apparently when I was 3 or 4, I was at a Red Sox game, and Mike Greenwell was throwing autographed balls into the stadium. A ball landed in my seat, and an older man behind me stole the ball. Apparently Greenwell saw this and set up a meeting after the game to get us two autographed balls, but when I head this story as I got older, I was shocked anyone would do that (steal a ball from a kid).

that's because that little dude with the grin knows what's up. his friend can touch a regular ol' ball, because he got some game to put on. His friend (more likely his brother though, they look sorta alike) will probably be the awkward third wheel when they get older.

FWIW, some places claim that he actually caught both foul balls so the one he gave to the girl was legit. So he's still a playa in the making, but not "the smoothest kid in America".
