EVO 2017 Player's Choice Game - [Ended] UMVC3 wins #SometimesEvilWins

Some for Marvel and KI as well. This is a matter of, if they do it I will do it. The last hour will be the most interesting.
This, though KI has fallen a bit too far behind the other two. Even if they have such a trump card, UMvC3 & Pokkén likely have trump cards waiting to be played, too (as you mentioned).

It's a race between top three. KI is far from over. Max has yet to unleash the gates of hell. Max got people to donate 50k or whatever for that one stream he did. It's far from over if he's involved.

I'm pretty sure Max said on a Stream that he's not going to do something like that. Can't remember why, maybe because he didn't think it would be fair, I don't know.

Nidhogg has been getting some love. It was at 35 for a lot of days, but it went to 55 last time I checked, then 100 when I checked today. Unprecedented momentum. :)

Evo will more or less drop off the map for me with no KI, but Marvel would probably be my second choice if I cared. I don't like playing Marvel, and I think it's boring as hell to watch, but I think it deserves the spot more than most of the other choices just based on legacy.

Nobody has. That's the point.

Yeah I don't know why people want to watch a game that will have horrible competition because nobody will have had time to get skilled at it. Why would you want to just watch people flail around stupidly because they've had no time with the game. That's assuming Arms isn't straight out delayed.

The fact that no one has played it is the exact point.

The game doesn't even have a release date.
I know it's not exactly the same thing because most base mechanics carry over, but barely anyone has played Injustice 2 or Rev 2 either. The new characters for those games will have to be learned in a short period of time too.

I assume(d) the ARMS nomination means plenty of lead-in time for players to get acquainted with the game before EVO starts.

I don't love any game being included before they're released. So if you're trying to get me to say Injustice 2 or Rev 2 should have been replaced, you won't get a huge argument from me.

But as you said, at least they have some kind of shitty justification by virtue of being successors. ARMS is completely new, literally does not have a release date and no one knows what it'll look like in a competitive scene.

Yeah, I was just pointing out how it's become normal to have unreleased games listed for EVO. It's a big part of marketing new fighters now.

Rev 2 is not even close to being equivalent to I2, ARMS, and Ninhogg or whatever in that regard.

Okay.

6 days left, Marvel 3 at 16k, Pokken at 14k and KI at 5k.

Virtually neck and neck between Marvel 3 and Pokken. The bump that happens in the last day is probably the most important.

Why we need Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 this year

All this history, all these stories that have come and are yet to come from the Marvel vs. Capcom series, are not the only reason however why Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 needs to return to Evo. There’s another, just as important reason for it. As stated above, the series is the “soul” of Evo, and this is because of how it represents the undying grassroots spirit of the community.

Get outta here with that nonsense. Marvel doesn't deserve anything just because it's always been there. Every game has stories, it's nothing unique to MvC3. Worest still is to imply that a Capcom developed fighting game had to struggle to be noticed and find an audience. It's laughable compared to the treatment pretty much every other game in the ballot gets by the wider FGC. And to imply that the game "deserves" a send off at the expense of breathing life into a game or even giving it a moment in the spotlight is disrespectful to those communities.
