EVO 2017 Player's Choice Game - [Ended] UMVC3 wins #SometimesEvilWins

Didn't expect Pokken to be in the lead. That game seemed pretty much dead, but I guess not.

ARMS is doing not so great, but not only is it not even out, it's basically a meme pick, so it probably can't compete with donations from the more passionate and active communities.

Did I read someone say that Tekken shouldn't even be at this year's Evo?

As for Pokken, wow. A surprise meal MvC3 had a great send-off last year. I'm ok with it skipping.
 
Im not a massive fan of fighting games but over the last few Evos I've really enjoyed watching SF, Marvel and KI.

Guess ill be giving a lot of it a miss then :(

I'm really hoping marvel wins so kbr wins with that garbage team so everyone could leave with that terrible taste in their mouth of marvel 3
 
I'm kind of saddened by the seemingly-common notion that everyone supporting ARMS is doing so for meme or joke purposes. I haven't donated yet, but if I do it would be for ARMS because it's a game I'm extremely interested in, it's mechanically-different than any other game currently on the lineup, and I'd love to see what kind of strategies a high level players can pull off within that system. And, yes, having player-cams on during the match would be good fun too.

That said I admit that the timing of the game's release relative to EVO is kind of problematic and it might be better served pushing for inclusion in next year's event instead. More so than worrying about player-base, how would EVO go about selecting who acts as commentators for the game? Outside of a guest appearance by JC from Nintendo Treehouse, we have no idea who will be knowledgeable enough about the game's deeper strategy to talk about it in a formal setting.

feel the same way, specially when MVCi is on the road, and we can have Marvel presence with a demo of MVCi and a side tournament of UMVC3 backed by Marvel themselves

After Chris G's well-deserved win, I feel the same.

But aside from ARMS (which I haven't seen in action at tournament play yet), only MKXL and KI give the same hype feeling I get when seeing Marvel.

No offense to Pokken but I just find the gameplay boring to watch and hope one of the other leading games take it.

Yep. Donation charity drive to make it a worthy cause and to get people to vote with their wallets. Voted in game goes first for top 8 on Sunday at the main event stage.

But who are you expecting will play, anyone still playing from those days play sfv only

And most of the Japanese gods have just disappeared

Like who expects a 3s in main stage in 2017
 
Maaaaan Pokken is fine, I don't know what y'all are whining about

If it really pisses you off then put your money where your mouth is and donate for Marvel or something else

It's been less than 24 hrs and this donation drive lasts 2 weeks. A lot can change, unless you're assuming most people will only donate in the first day.

Ha! Definitely. And why stop at tournaments? Let vote-in GOTY awards come with mandatory donations too!
 
I'm pretty sure a lot of people are waiting to get their paychecks or allowance money on Friday before they vote.
 
Right now Is:

1 - Marvel
2 - Pokken
3 - Killer
4 - Arms

Probably will be Pokken at end.
But if is to watch people playing one of these, I prefer watch Arms.
