Honestly, Capcom did need to say that they still will care about fighting games past Ultra. Before that announcement of an announcement I wasn't sure if they'd just abandon fighting games or not going into next/this gen.

In all fairness, Capcom's future is more unknown than ever before. It will be interesting to see what happens to their properties if/when they are bought.
