so i'm useless at MS Excel.

say i have a column of numbers. i want to manipulate all the numbers in that column.

for example...add 4 to all of those numbers, or subtract them by some number. how do i do it?

first, you'll need to do the calcuations in another column. put your numbers in the A column, first number in A1, second in A2, and so on.

in the B column, if you wanted to add 4 to the numbers, in cell B1 type =A1+4

you can then drag the little box at the bottom of cell B1 down the rest of the B column, and that will do the same calculation to the rest of the numbers from the A column.
