Now that man loves his pony

I don't get it all myself, I'm a huge disney fan but even to me it seems a bit odd

Is that Big E Langston?

Was gonna say he just sounds like a social outcast with zero social skills, then you mention the porn thing and I cant help but associate a level of deviancy to the whole thing.

The problem I have with this is that they have so much merchandise

I love the shit out of some shows, but i dont by fucking dolls/action figures

Hell I've listened to some bands and shit my entire life and I dont even own a t shirt or something

Friends don't show friends pony porn.

s'all I have to say about this.

Boom.

If people want to waste their life with pony BS then (in the end) that's their choice. There are enough people wasting their time doing other stuff too.

Still weird though.

Has there been any connection with MLP fascination and having Aspergers Syndrome? I'm not making fun, this is a serious question- far too often it seems like the most devoted of Pony fans have aspergers. I wonder if there is a connection.
There was an entire segment of the Bronies documentary dedicated to fans with Asperger's.
I doubt it's coincidental. The show's underlying message and themes of acceptance clearly resonate with people who suffer from it.

Is that Big E Langston?
Yes it is. Dude is hilarious.

Well with pop culture fandom there are people who just want to turn it into rot, or watch it burn. From the inside. With them in it. And this is because they are not well people. But you find this with everything. For the most part, people just like the show, or the characters of the show, and like other media related to the show, like comics or fanart or fan animation.

That's pretty normal, but nobody cares about normal, they want to talk about "wtf?!" shit like that sex plushie on ebay, or pornographic fan art(on the internet of all places). This is what gets threads going and twitter posts made. MLP fans have come to accept it, and overlook it, or watch with morbid curiosity.

He tried to show you Pony porn, but I'm assuming he was making fun of it, not showing off something cool. It's pretty ridic, and maybe he thought you could share a laugh? I think he assumed incorrectly.

I highly doubt that.

real-time lotion physics to reruns

Damn you tag! Wish the mod who did that had it link to the thread that I said that in atleast to give it context. Though the context doesn't make it any better hah

My wife heard a lot about it and wanted to see what the big deal was so we watched it together. We both ended up liking it a lot, mostly because it can be pretty hilarious.

I think thats a big part of its appeal. The whole "i like the values it teaches about friendship" or whatever is a lot of bunk imo. As far as im concerned, on this show, friendship is only magic if its something the rest of the group approves of, otherwise they're all up in your grill. Its not a good msg imo.

I've got a teammate, a very skilled programmer, who is really into MLP. I've tried to understand it but I simply cannot.

He has pretty much no friends outside of his pony club, is very difficult to get along with, and has communication troubles.

He wears only pony-themed clothes, even when dressinng nice he's got pony polos. He paints his fingernails the color of his favorite pony (he is straight and doesn't come off as feminine). He has tried to show me pony porn. He goes by the nickname of his pony-self and aggressively insists it's his real name.

He collects pony figurines, and sleeps with a pony plushie. He listens to pony-themed remixes of popular songs. He only willingly talks to females who like ponies as much as he does. He is an adult.

Yet at the same time, he tells me that ponies are not what his life revolves around, and outright denies enjoying any sexual representation of these cartoon characters.

What am I missing?

He tries to explain to me that he loves the concepts of love and friendship taught by the show. Not only do I feel that these kind of things can be easily classified as common sense, he doesn't demonstrate any of the traits he claims the show conveys.

It is his way of coping with loneliness, like that of an anime waifu or something?

I want this explained so I can better understand the people I work with every day.

Somebody's telling fibs.

I've seen some episodes of MLP and I can get the broad appeal, but OP.... watch out for your friend because I seriously think he's gonna literally eff a horse eventually.

how would you even know? except for the part where OP talks about him clicking through it and laughing of course...

The man is clearly obsessed about it, and knows exactly where to find the stuff (not like it's hard to find, there's tons of it). Combined with the total social awkwardness.... ya he be fappin to ponies.

Education. I'm not endorsing discrimination, it's just rather unsettling to me when I'm trying to run a presentation with this guy and his beard conflicts with his bright blue fingernails.

He doesn't have a rainbow beard? Fail.

Ok. I'll say no more, except for this. You know that I know that you know exactly where to find pony porn too...tons of it.

I watched a few episodes to see what the heck everything was about.

Seems like a perfectly good show.

For young girls.

Not a fan of figurines but I do have 3 pony plushies in my bedroom. But I also have plushies of dogs and cats so I guess I just like stuffed toys.
