Explain to me this pony thing

I am in the same boat as OP if not more ignorant of what MLP is besides a few SFW and NSFW images I have seen. I have no idea what it is or why there is a huge following. Is it the same thing as obsessing over any popular media anime/movie/cartoon/comic character sometimes to the point of fantasizing having sex with them (akin to Hentai/porn parodies)?

Pony porn and sick people getting off to that is just one of many reasons this modern obsession is ridiculous.

Yeah, I'm not one to condemn people for their strange obsessions, but can we not actually argue that it's normal behavior that should be accepted?

The only part that's problematic is showing other people porn without them asking for it. It's pretty rude. That's the only part I would have a problem with at least (and it shouldn't be about the nature of the porn, either.)

Bronies are the creepiest mainstream (mainstream? common? I don't know) demographic to come up in the past 10 years in my opinion.

Is it because they watch the show? No. I watch dumb cartoons all the time and I'm 21. It's the complete obsession with the show to the point that you're defining yourself as a "brony" as if your only worth is that you like My Little Pony.

I'm a complete Metal Gear nerd but I don't go around saying "I am Raiden, the rain transformed" nor do I sleep in Big Boss pajamas.

It doesn't help that the vast majorities of these guys that I've encountered, in real life and online, fit a very rigid "anti-social" stereotype. Overwhelmingly so. I feel like it must be, on a whole, a way of coping with loneliness that just hit at the right time for a certain group of people. Still, it's creepy to me. Sorry if any of you take offense to that but when you're investing so much time, effort and money into what is a children's tv show with a very basic message (I always find it odd that people bring up that they like the message of friendship and all that as a reason to like the show...this is a message seen in every kids show) it gets really weird, and people aren't wrong to see it as...questionable.

...Yeah, stop that comparison. Like, right now.

I've also seen being a brony compared to being black in the early-mid 1900s.

Its like the 4chan. The cesspool of the internet. Holy cow.

I hope whoever invented this shit show suffers in hell. Cant believe the damage its doing to human species.

whoa, I may not like these ponies

but you will not talk shit about that lady.

Powerpuff girls and Fosters Home is dope.

Talking about an obsession is not wrong, not is calling yourself a "brony". Showing other people your porn is just unpleasant in general, that I can agree with - But it's not wrong inherently, or implies craziness. I had a coworker who was obsessed with sharing with me picture of barely clothed women until I asked him to stop. He wasn't crazy or horrible, he was annoying at most.
Nah, it sounds like you are boring. Neither crazy. Nice.

Seriously. I on YouTube and I just heard the term 'Sweet Pony Ass'. I just find myself entranced, as though this horrifying journey must be undertaken.

It amazes me how quickly people admit to being 'cloppers'. You can hear the underlying shame in their voices but they still admit to wanking over cartoon ponies. I need to wake the missus up so she can share this moment with me.

just wait until there's an overweight welfare pony (BBP?) squeezing her publicly funded titties and cottage cheese ass into pink a PVC clithover dress. comes with a (breakable) off brand lambrini bottle accessory.

It's a method of social inclusion.

A lot of people love love LOVE being social outcasts, whether they do it as a mechanism for being socially awkward in the first place or not. These are the people who will flaunt anything that isn't seen as socially likable. Think nerds who purposely wear shitty clothes, don't shave, and have that stereotypical pony tail. They don't fit in with the rest of the world so they fit in with the nerd world. And they love this.

Bronies are just another example of this. They want to be different for the sake of being different. Because they don't like social norms or are just being rebellious because they want to feel super unique and want people to judge them so they can pretend they're on a moral high ground of being open minded.

All that bullshit of the show having great animation, writing, and lessons are a crock of shit. I've watched an episode of MLP for shits and gigs. The animation is pretty, I'll give them that, but the writing is normal and the "lessons" are fucking common sense anyway. There are plenty of other TV shows, both live action and cartoon, both designed for adults and children that are much better. But liking those is considered socially normal, so they don't do it.

Real Talk.

This isn't like Grizz walked into his private space. This guy is actively telling him about his obsession with MLP. There's nothing wrong with enjoying the show. There is plenty off to me about sexualizing the characters, calling oneself a "brony" and showing others pony porn.

Context. Although...this guy might be so socially out there that context is latin to him. The brony bit is completely whatever. It's a catchy name, that has gained pariah status. Some like that, others don't as much.

Sexualizing the characters, well that's...a different subject. Who is to say that it's right or wrong? Even I wouldn't approach that one. It happens, I kind of have some theories, but humans have been doing this since they've had excess sexual energy and too much time on their hands, so as long as it's not too squicky, why not let it ride?

Showing pony porn though. To me this is like the guy wanted to show his colleague/friend analogue something fucked up that he found amusing and fucked up. Just like millions of other people do on the internet every day. I don't think he was showing it to seek approval. He can't be that out of touch. But he knows that people like laughing at completely wtf shit...so that's why I think he would have shown pony porn.

Now all three of those things could someone who's off, but possibly could be just this guy being cast in a bad light.

I've been in the Sonic community for over a decade and seen some sick shit, but bronies have taken it to the next level.

maybe, but I've seen so many different paraphilias represented in sonic fandom that it's amazing. They really act out in their Sonic Sexy Pics man. And this was just in the BadFanArtGAF thread

Trekkies are widely regarded as starting fandom porn with sexualy repressed housewives in the 70's starting the whole shipping trend with kirk and Spock.

Are you seriously comparing fanfiction porn involving humans with pony fucking?

What context? Why do people question this shit? What is debatable? How many people tell class mates or work mates about their fetishes/show them porn and or reveal their huge fanboy/fangirl tendencies unprompted? Socially inept people. There is no getting around this, I'm sorry.

The weirdest part to me is the reaction towards Bronies...and this isn't a defense of the Bronies or anything. I mean, part of me does think that there's more hate for them because it's a traditional show for "girls", and there's a slight bit of sexism, but that feeling is overridden by the fact that most Bronies themselves are pretty misogynistic and don't admit that the show is for girls (it is), but instead try to portray themselves as the real fans and the show's actually aimed at them. Which is disappointing since, from what I hear (I've never watched it), it's a strong, non-patronizing show aimed at young girls.

Anyway, every community I've been to though has reacted to Bronies in a way I've never seen before...here, on Something Awful, 4chan, when the Brony thing started, tons of people jumped onto it, and in every situation rules literally had to be created because Bronies were that obsessed with it that it ended up cannibalizing every discussion. It's scary. There's NOTHING like it, I'm serious. I've never seen any series obsessed over in such a short amount of time.

Oh, and yeah, the other day on Something Awful I saw a link to Youtube where this guy ejaculates off-screen to his Pony Toy, ending with a mess of semen flying on the toy so...yeah, Bronies are fucking weird.

Liking My Little Pony is not what made this guy weird. He (and everyone else that acts like him), had these problems long before whatever obsession took them over.

Are you seriously comparing fanfiction porn involving humans with pony fucking?.

Both are fake, both are forms of escapism. I think the comparison is fair.

When they start dyeing horses and fucking them then we can start saying they're different.

I give the middle finger to all of you haters! My love ain't something to make fun of. Love is something to cherish no matter if it's for another human being or Sparkledash. I'm going to bed with my lady, suckers.

NSFW
I... please tell me this isn't real. Please.

This thread is hilarious.

I liked ponies because during season 1 it was a surprisingly entertaining show with a great community. The show has managed to turn to shit since then but the community has stayed entertaining.

Why does it have to be anything more than that?

Explain to me how fantasizing about made-up humans is different than fantasizing about made-up ponies, please.

Because Spock is played a by a real-person wearing prosthetic ears?

I mean, when you fantasize about Spock, you're probably thinking of his portrayal by Leonard Nimoy, and thus there's an objective, real human-being to fantasize about.

...

I hate people. I really, really hate people.

I see this so bloody much in these groups of bronies/furries. They really... really want to compare 10% of the human race being ostracized, ridiculed, attacked, and denied basic human rights due to the fact that they biologically are attracted to other people of their own gender to a group of people unhealthily obsessed with a children's show about ponies to the point of sexualizing the characters to no end and walking around dressed up like a pony. They really want to make that comparison.

There really aren't any words.

He tried to show you Pony porn, but I'm assuming he was making fun of it, not showing off something cool. It's pretty ridic, and maybe he thought you could share a laugh? I think he assumed incorrectly.

There is no such thing as this.

Nobody ever just shows a friend some porn as a matter of interest or as a joke, unless it's a deliberate prank to gross someone out. If you're being shown weird porn by someone who is sitting there and laughing "this is so stupid, look at this" they actually love it.

My god. I see how easily I could become the very monster I loathe.

"Can't come to work today boss, I'm feeling a little hoarse. Oh yes, SlaggyStar, it's just you 'n' me today...."

For all of you who asked: he showed me the interactive, flash-based animations of transsexual pony intercourse on the pretense that I, as a musician and sound designer, should hear the great and stylish background music.

Dear Diary, my attempts to convert my best friend/life partner Kev were unsuccessful. I even used my hottest flash porn... if he resists after seeing those smooth pony dongs being slapped together then there is no hope!

Also, i nearly threw up in my mouth earlier when i saw a thread for some creepy anime show about little sisters! Yikes!

Untill next time, XxXSephirothXxXRainbowDashfan1998XxX out!

I send my friends weird shit all the time. Fuck, am I secretly a brony?
