If your interest is preventing pedophiles from harming children then it should be viewed as normal. People with conditions deemed 'normal' by society have no reservations about making their problem known and getting help for it. If your eyesight sucks you don't hide it from people and risk killing someone when you drive, you go get some damned glasses because no one gives a shit if your eyesight sucks.
If society's reaction to pedophilia was "Yeah dude you should probably get that checked out and talk to a therapist or something" instead of "DIE IN ALL THE FUCKING FIRES YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" I have a feeling more pedophiles would seek treatment for their condition.
No, it shouldn't be treated as 'normal'. It shouldn't be accepted as normal, just as having the urge to kill shouldn't be accepted as normal. However, there's a difference between viewing something as normal and wanting to kill others for it. Again, I never said people who fantasized about children should 'die in a fucking fire', or suffer any sort of physical pain. It should be viewed in a way by society that someone isn't ashamed to get help for it, but it shouldn't be shrugged off as normal behaviour.
It is not fucking normal.
