I have made the same suggestion (DW game set in the Civil/Revolutionary War) to Koei USA's staff, and they thought the idea was cool -- fruity, but really no fruitier than DW when you think about it.

However, it's doubtful such a game would sell much in Japan, where the majority of sales come from.

I also said I'd like to hear DW voices in Chinese, and I think they were actually considering it at one point, but ultimately decided against it.

And for the record, I do enjoy the DW games, but fruity is a good way to describe them.

What does 5 have over 4?

6 new characters, all of which are good. Much improved graphics with practically no fog, more guys onscreen at once, and slightly better frame rate. Musou mode for each character, with much better level designs (all vastly different then 4), much better AI. Far better music too. They also went back to DW3's upgrade system and added a bunch more items. I can't even touch 4 now.
