This is, like, objectively wrong. All versions of the Aku no Hana OP are great, but the first version (Kasuga's) is the most generic and thus the worst of a good bunch. Nakamura's version is delicious.

It's just some girl screaming and I don't like it. This will not be the first nor last time I have said something that establishes me as a dirty pleb and I don't care.

Why? Seems like you enjoyed it.

I experienced something. It definitely was not enjoyment though.
It was hours of build up for a mild-to-medium release.

I was expecting the deaths to be more spread out over the show. I wanted Katsura to go kill a ho by episode 7, at least.

Thought I should do one final check in before the TV end. I've absolutely adored this last arc. It's been absolutely everything I could have hoped it to be. I was getting a bit worried around the time
Kiba was lost in the poison plant world
that the show wasn't going to have the time to wrap up a good chunk of the loose ends in a satisfying way, but ever since the character's reached
Jagura's keep city
, it's been firing on all plot cylinders. The show has been so focused on side stories, that it's really surprising that they're pulling off a satisfying through-line, but they are.

A couple moments from these past 8 or so episodes have really stuck out to me. The first is Tomoe
going completely berserk on the walrus beast
. One of my favorite character moments from the whole show. It was really surprising, yet worked so well in context. The other was the reveal of Hige's
unintentional betrayal of the group
. Such a brutal moment. It's a part of a brutal few episodes as well. These last 3-4 episodes have all been tough to watch. No character is being left in a happy place. It's tough to see them struggle and struggle to only get nowhere. All of this is brilliantly enhanced by Yoko Kanno's haunting soundtrack. Just an amazing group of episodes, from an emotional perspective.

If I have one complaint about the show up until now, it's that Kiba is a pretty damn crappy protagonist. He's so boring. No charisma or personality and very little development. He's not really fun to watch, but it seems like the show realizes that and he's not been that big of a focus.

So, yeah. Cannot wait to see how they decided to wrap the show up for TV. There's a lot to do, so I imagine a lot's going to be left hanging. Thing's are building to a great crescendo, though, so it should be an interesting bang.

If I could make one complaint about School Days, it would definitely be
that Katsura did not kill enough people in enough violent ways.

Don’t watch this, guys. The last five minutes that you’ll be grinning are not worth it.
This is why you need to know things end badly before starting. Everything becomes more interesting as you know where it's being pulled to.

The first pairing is still the most canon pairing. I cant believe its over as it was so good the whole 26 episodes through and almost litrally begs for more. I wish sales had been higher so they could continue but Im just glad it managed to tell quite a good story and arc. Too bad the manga will never make its way over here I guess.

Ending episode was excellent on visuals and drama and the backstory helped fill some gaps. The big question is still unanswered
just who exactly is the lady and what is it that Satomi and I guess to some extent Sosuke knows but doesnt say.

Both Faylan OPs (God Fate and Wonder Fang) were memorable, first ED was also a bit more memorable than this seasons. Visuals had nice backgrounds and settings that made me want to visit and even board the train, and character designs were all great. Shinobu, Shino for favorites, and then Kobu, Keno, Ao, Sosuke, Rio, etc.

Will definitely purchase when Sentai releases it hopefully BD with a dub. 10/10.

I'll be very curious to read your reaction to the ending.

Rewatch Digimon Tamers

I'm slow on realizing that they're based on a chinese zodiac system.

Jenrya's dad was involved with Digimon, and found out his son has a Digimon as well, but wonders why Shimura's code is on the Blue Card. Meanwhile Rapidmon gets introduced and beat the shit out of his opponents. The remaining one however wants to talk with Renamon about "digimon stuff"

lol Vajiramon.

Aw heck I'm sick today, let's watch another EP episode. Not like I have much better to do.

Ergo Proxy 7

Aw man plot development!
Test tube babiez. Raul weaponizing dat cogito. Vague sorta explanation for why they want Proxy.
Also Iggy is back yes! And apparently there is significance to why Re-l's name sounds like Real and why it said that on her license! Now what is it, exactly? I dunno.

Lol the king only wanted Hana for that? Though I guess now that I think about it this is the first time we're seeing him and Ojijide is a dope, so him wildly misinterpreting what he said actually seems pretty possible.Whatever, everything's cool now. Wonder what they're going to do for the last two episodes, probably a tearful goodbye with Hana-chan which sucks cause Hana's awesome and I want her to stay. :(

Pop with the assist. Fuck, just put her in charge of everything.

Behold, an ANN/SOS worthy review to gasp in horror at.

Eccentric Family had no real conflict. It had no real story. It had no good characters, and whatever good characters it might have had were wasted. Not even its final confrontation was good, and its themes are not new and explored in any revolutionary way. It failed to utilize all the effort put into it for something I cared about. It failed to surpass Angel Beats as my favorite PA Works anime (how is it possible that the studio has not done anything I liked more than that mess?). It failed to even surpass Hanasaku Iroha, let alone True Tears (the only other PA Works anime I think is decent) for that matter. In the end, Eccentric Family was a waste of my time!

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.

This guy is a complete fucking moron and is disparaging one of the best shows this season. You guys are going to lose to Hummingbird if you don't filter out dreck like this.

Rewatch Digimon Tamers 18

Vajiramon had a hard on for Renamon. Seems it's all about flirting with her really, even Ruki did at the end of the episode.

And we see Ruki taking photo shots because her mother had her set up for it
she doesn't act like one honestly
. I think she's afraid of cameras though because it'll suck her soul. lol.

Anyway, we got our final Ultimate out of the way at least with Taomon. Would be nice though if Digimon could get some superb animation for fights though.

Never underestimate the Ippo Firework. Never.

Who knew Ippo loved risque women?

Edit: I wish Netflix had Wolf Rain on its streaming, so I could rewatch the series. I haven't seen it since high school (seven years ago).

So that was an end. I guess. It was pretty much what I was expecting, yet somehow managed to surprise me at the same time.

From a plot standpoint, it was weird. Lots of abstraction and half explained events. The reveal of
Jagura's true identity
wasn't something I was expecting, but it wasn't all that unexpected either. The way that plot related to Darcia worked really well. Aside from that, everything revolving around Darcia felt really odd. His last statement to Kiba made very little sense either. As for
not reaching paradise
, that seemed like the obvious outcome from the start of the show. I would have been surprised if they had done that.

From an emotional perspective, I loved it. Each character got their own little moment to help out and be badass. They each got closure in their own way. The stuff between Blue and the old man was particularly heartwarming and probably my favorite moment of the episode.

So, yeah. That's how the TV part ended. I can see it I guess. Darcia is really the only hanging plot point out there, and it doesn't seem all that vital. I suppose the OVAs are going to deal with that and the aftermath. Should be good. I could definitely see it producing a more satisfying conclusion, though I can't say that I really left episode 26 feeling all that dissatisfied.

Koga is a huge freaking hypocrite, he starts the episode saying it's okay for his wolves to eat humans because "they need to eat too" and he protects them with the power of his sacred jewel shards. Yet he needs Kagome's help because his wolves are being eaten by bird demons who have a sacred jewel shard and it "will lead to our destruction"... like the whole villages you've destroyed to get jewel shards and feed your wolves

Where's the hypocrisy? He cares for his "family" and gives no shits about anybody else. How is that different than the rational for like any dispute in human history? How is that different from any predator/prey dynamic in nature? Classic "us vs. them" mentality.

No doubt expectations are high but also might be setting themselves up for a fall or indeed at least the unexpected. Not to mention that hype is getting downright grating on the nerves, especially since this season has many potential candidates for AOTY. Also, the preview videos have flat out sucked and some of the designs are rather questionable at best and embarrassing at worst.

Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt 13 - End

The entire episode was pretty awesome and then the last minute killed it. Stupid sequel hook that'll never get followed up on. ;_;

Although actually I'm not sure I'd really want a sequel with the way they set it up. Don't particularly like the idea of Panty & Stocking both being out of the picture for most of it apparently.

Overall I liked the series more than I thought I would. I'm not really a big fan of that sort of crude humor usually, but I found PSG entertaining. Now if you'll excuse me:

GAAAAAINAAAAAAX

Ugh what a troll ending :(

I hope P&S 2 becomes a thing some day. Great series!

Everybody seems just a little too sure they're going to pull this off. I mean, they do recognize the possibility of death and all, but we're talking about doing something literally no witch ever has done. Only one survived the forest, and even that came with a thousand-year slumber. I mean, they'll do it and everything, but...

Heard title for next episode. Knew it. ;(

Rewatch Digimon Tamers 19

Impmon just wants to get stronger guys, so lets watch him get his faced caved in by SJPmon and the Magic Conch! And end on a cliff hanger.

sidenote: Earlier they talked about Devas and how they could either be good or bad, thus making the distinction of their ranks as undetermined. This will probably mean something. Maybe.

speaking of which, we gotta vote on our crew action & rank titles

i choose BRO LOVE and naming them after the big green dbz dub names based on power level

I request "Shit-eater" as the bottom rank.

I can only imagine that someone named "Flawfinder" gets their jollies writing inflammatory and controversial reviews.

Somehow for being a "Flawfinder" he thinks Eva 3.0 is a masterpiece and the best anime of 2012.

7. If you could meet an anime character who would it be?

Is there an anime girl who has a good personality, is not likely to do terrible things to me, and cute/hot? I’d like to meet her…if you know what I mean. Alternatively, I’d like to meet those characters I’d like to shoot in the face. And shoot them.

Ah, such a great show. It was a good thing stumbling across AnimeGaf as I came to find out about some more niche shows like this one.

If you saw what Nao is looking at then you would probably have the same reaction, haha.
What is she looking at? Well you'll have to watch the show and find out! ;)

There was the backlog season that a few people participated in a few seasons ago and this was one of the titles. I didn't watch it as the time but was certainly interested in taking a look at it based off of things like its unique art design. Recently then this past season I went through the show and quite liked it. I was hooked on the first episode and it got better and better to me as it went along.

foLcUpx.jpg

Another theme of the show is Nao and her camera capturing all these daily happenings.
(Image borrowed courtesy from a post by Brazil)

I wasn't sure what to expect out of the show other than it dealing with the theme of wind as the title suggests. There's a neat little element (about the wind, haha) that's introduced in the first episode. I won't spoil it but how things progressed into the second episode it seemed like it was going down a different path then it looked like it might right at the beginning. From the third episode on though you see that the show seems to be more like a slice of life but kind of episodic as each episode kind of focuses on a particular theme about life.

The show is just really well made and it does a good job of showing rather then telling. Even in the fifth episode Nao has a bit of a cold/fever and goes to the nurses office to take some medicine and lye down for a little bit. There's a teacher who likes to hang out in there to get away from things and another teacher comes in to visit. The whole episode is more or less in the room with people just talking but how it's done I just found it interesting and never really boring despite that.

ONJPJn5.jpg

The shows art style allows for some really expressive reactions from the characters, so this scene from episode 10 where the girls are at the theater watching a horror movie has some pretty entertaining faces. Sayaka Ohara does a couple of voices in this episode as well. <3

Episode 6 with the game Kick the Can I think is only the second time I can recall seeing it featured in an anime other than Higurashi I believe was the other. It has a very mono no aware atmosphere by the end of the episode. The whole show does really by the end. The last episode features some time skips which initially might be a bit confusing but you see how they're done quick enough. It's nice then how it kind of carries on as a regular episode but also shows glimpses of the future without being too dramatic about it either.

It's just a really well made show and I enjoyed every episode. Normally I'm not sure about recommending shows to others but I think this one is a bit of a hidden jem that I'm not sure how many people know about let alone watched. If this write up catches your interest a little bit or if it sounds interesting if you look it up some more later then I think you should definitely at least give it a shot. Hopefully you come to like it as much as I have. :)

Thanks for reading.

Knew it. ;_; Was even harder than I thought. Oh god, Hana going around trying to say their names and then saying "Mama". Fuuuck.

I have to give this show credit for being willing to end a season this way. Still though, ;_;.

Genshiken Nidaime 13

As an ending episode, I guess this was ok. Felt less definitive unlike the past episode but this was a fun episode nonetheless.

# is my second favorite ending, because I love Hana-chan too. My first is the last season end. Hana-chan ;____;

Ah, such a great show.
It's pretty great indeed. It does a really good job of putting light to things of daily life we normally overlook, and the little cap of whimsy provided by the wind thematic spices it up enough to carry a sense of wonder that draws you in like it doesn't even care.

It's also super sakuga. Those Ohira cuts are delicious.
I think everyone who watches this show likes it. At least I haven't seen anyone really voice a substantial complaint towards it anywhere in the internet.
