I don't think Yamato 2199 has a genuine love triangle. There are gestures to one between Kodai, Yuki, and Akira, but Akira's feelings don't really go anywhere and it's pretty much just a relationship between Kodai and Yuki.

Probably right about that, it is more about the perception as far as the actual love triangle goes, still could do with out the worn out anime romance tropes.

Akira's character as a whole kind of goes nowhere. She ends up feeling really underused.

Believe in the me that believes in Season 2.

Much like Araragi, Kirito wastes his dick while indulging in imouto fantasies. Like Araragi, Kirito is devoted to his girlfriend he never spends any time with ever. Unlike Araragi, Kirito never ever looks at other girls.

Oh ho ho ho, that's where you're wrong sir: Arararararagi's gets his. Her Dad works reallllll lateeeeeee sonnnnnnnn.

I know. It's mostly the constant repetition of the fact that is annoying me. No one seems to be learning and they take every opportunity to vocalize their ignorance of the ships functions.
I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about.

A full-fledged love triangle

Anzu's crawling up big folks animation is one of the most endearing aspects of the show :)

I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about.

"What? This ship can warp? Is such a thing even possible?"

"What? The engine can act as a main gun? Is such a thing even possible?"

"Fire the main gun at that flare? Is such a thing even possible?"

No one even wants to know what the ship is capable of ;_;

Again, I get it, they're a mostly ragtag crew of misfits. It's that they have to keep pointing this out that is slightly annoying to me, and that made me say I wouldn't want to go to war with them ever.

Akira's character as a whole kind of goes nowhere. She ends up feeling really underused.

Akira does have a character arc, it just finishes when
she reconciles with Melda and by so doing comes to term with the loss of her brother.
Which is relatively early on the show, so she doesn't have a whole lot to do afterwards except to be the ace.

She's part of the greatest yuri romance in the history of anime.
maybe if melda actually went to earth.

these are unheard of concepts that were dropped in their lap by aliens. again, i don't know what you expect.

Looking for some shows to watch. Which of the following should I watch?

The Devil Is a Part-Timer!

Attack on Titan

Psycho Pass

Gurren Lagann

This is some crazy alien technology that the Yamato has - only a couple people in the entire crew have any experience with Wave Motion Energy - and Okita uses crazy unconventional tactics. The crew's reactions to some of the things he does is only natural. I don't understand your last sentence unless you think everyone should have gone to the Captain as soon as they got on the ship and asked, "Would you please explain to me every detail about how this ship works?"

I haven't watched any of those shows, but the general consensus here is that Attack on Titan and Psycho-Pass are not good, so you should probably drop those from your list.

I think I'd want some details, personally...

I don't know how to put this any plainer than I already have: I understand why they don't know anything; It's the shows need to keep reminding me that has slightly annoyed me.

I'm glad Yamato 2199 has gotten popular enough that we can start arguing about the details of it. :P

I don't even want to argue ;_;

Now, if someone wants to make an argument that Araragi isn't the ideal boyfriend, I'm willing to fight. The man knows how to please his lady.

Gurren Lagann->AoT->Devil is a part timer.

On the theory of saving the best for last:

Psycho Pass <== Nothing of value would be lost if you skipped this.

The Devil Is a Part-Timer!

Attack on Titan

Gurren Lagann

The consensus that Attack on Titan is not good is most definitely false. Disappointing for many, maybe, but it is still pretty well-liked outside of a vocal minority, especially for those that haven't read the manga and lapsed anime fans.

All of these are worth watching, though Psycho Pass is pretty hit or miss.

Gurren Lagann takes priority.

Yeah, that was what I was really commenting on. She's hovering around for much of the series seemingly there to wait on a love triangle that never materializes. It'd have been nice for her to have more development after that initial arc.

Gurren Lagann >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Worms inside the dirt>>>>>Dirt>>>>>>>>Attack on Titan.

But seriously, watch Gurren Lagann before seeing any of those. You won't regret it.

Trigun: Badlands Rumble

I think I might have forgotten how much I like Trigun. Seeing Vash bumble around, secretly trolling everybody, and then get serious and just wreck somebody is so satisfying.

I wouldnt know this but SAO really has a forced harem, its not done in a good way like monogatari where even when the main character has a gf, you like that he also attracts the girls around him

I don't know if its any more forced.Well its a forced artificial environment. But its still guy wanders around helps out random girls who then all become attracted to him in one way or another, but he still stays faithful to his 'true love'.

On the plus side at least with SAO all the girls have at least hit puberty. On the downside, one is a cousin (though unknown to be related at the time).
