So we have threads about all the new seasons of various shows. We can give some quick impressions of what everyone thinks so far.

New Shows:
Invasion - slow, but I'll give it some time
Criminal Minds - I really want to like it, but the characters didn't grab me. Well accept for the genius guy. He was actually kinda funny.
Threshold - Stupid! Just look bad.

I still need to check out:
Surface - Looks alright
My Name is Earl - Jason Lee, you can't go wrong
Killer Instinct - Looks creepy
Head Cases - Adam Goldberg kills me
Night Stalker - Another creepy show

Returning Shows:
America's Next Top Model - oh baby. I can watch it with my gf, and she is no the wiser. Chicks are hot.
Lost - HOLY CRAP!! Next week can't come quick enough
The Apprentice (Donald) - So far so good. Hot chicks are back.
House - House freaking rules. He is even more sarcastic this season then last!
CSI: Miami - I didn't finish the episode. I'm losing interest since they killed Speed.
CSI - I like that the team is back together. I can see a lot of messed up things with Nick this season. Poor Nicky.

Still need to check out:
Law & Order: SVU - Probably one of the best shows on TV. I think they could have a L&O channel and I'd find time to watch it.
Grey's Anatomy - It was a great show last year. I like it much better then ER now.
Numbers - They got rid of the chick on the show, I don't know how much longer the novelity of 'math to solve crimes' can keep going

Should be a great fall of television!!

Of the new shows, I've seen...

PRISON BREAK - Thought it was pretty stupid and stopped watching after 3 episodes. I've heard it's getting a lot better, so I might check out the next two.
MY NAME IS EARL - Really liked this, definitely going to keep watching.
SURFACE - Another stupid show, but it has potential to be fun in a stupid sort of way. I'll give it another few episodes.
EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS - Thought it was pretty funny. Dunno how long it'll last, but I'm keen to see the next few eps.

Invasion- has potential.
Head Cases- im really enjoying this show
Supernatural- tivoed..will watch it later this week
Lost- season premier is also tivoed
Numbers- enjoyed the first season, but i havent had time to watch any recent episodes.
House- one of my favorite shows on tv

might check out:
surface
night stalker..
Everybody Hates Chris

the rest dont really interest me

I really liked My Name is Earl and Rome.

I kinda liked Invasion, Kitchen Confidential, and How I met your mother.

Threshold I'd rank a notch below them.

Prison Break and Out of Practice I didnt care for at all.

Returning Shows

King of the Hill: Good first ep.
Simpsons: I've long since excepted it's low quality. I just watch it for nostalgia, a good joke here and there and the very very odd good full episode.
Family Guy: Same old FG, Characters aren't as fresh anymore but it's still pretty good, although last week was just bizarre with Brian marrying Lois.
American Dad: I like this more then FG, mainly due to it's freshness.
King of Queens: still rocking, one of the best most consistant sitcoms on now.
Two & A Half Men: I haven't seen the new ep yet. The show is kind of up and down, The ones not about Charlie dating are the ones I usually like.
Amazing Race: Can't wait for the new season.
The Office: Haven't watched the new ep yet, been catching up on the old ones, it's not bad, Steve Carell is overrated I'd rather see someone else in his role.
Yes, Dear: Exellent sitcom, very underrated, again haven't watched the first ep yet.
Survivor: Shaping up to be a good season, great first ep, not bad second one. The team Steph is on think they are all united but I don't see why, I think they are still flying high from getting the better camp in the first ep. I can't believe they would even consider voting Lydia off so early.
Apprentice: A whole new batch of assholes to enjoy failing. This show is getting stale, I wouldn't be suprised if this was the last year. I enjoyed the first ep but usually start getting a bit board of it half way thru.
Joey: I hope this year has better storylines, how many times can they have Joey always gets the hot chick jokes. I always like the shows that don't revolve around him dating. I don't care about this characters fictional dating life, I want to laugh.

New Shows

War At Home: Headed for cancellation imo, old and tired jokes with a mostly crap cast and very lame "edgy" jokes.

My Name is Earl: Very promising Pilot.

Martha Apprentice: Ok nothing really to defferent then Trump. One thing I like is less of these dumb "dramatic" statements/camera shots/music that Donald has to boost his giant ego.

New Shows I Need To Check Out

How I met your Mother: Looks kinda crappy from the previews but I'll still give it a chance.

Out of Practice: On paper it sounds good but I don't know...

Lost: Not new this year but I still haven't got around to seeing it, I will one of these days.

Headcases: Something about this interests me I'm not sure what.

Night Stalker: I loved the old one and am betting this will be a gigantic failure. But I'll still watch.

Monday
- Prison Break: A fun little show, with a good sense of suspense...I just hope that the producers really know where they're going with this. 24, no matter my issues with it, always tends to draw together in fantastic conclusions...I'm not sure if they can pull it off with this one.

- Arrested Development: I just started getting hooked on this show earlier this month and now I'm really hooked. Fantastic.

- Kitchen Confidential: Bradley Cooper is a charismatic lead, but this pilot needed to actually give us a bit more of a clue of where the show might go in the future.

Tuesday
- House: Another summer pickup for me, I never really got around to watching this and now I'm kicking myself. I still need to get my hands on 'Three Stories', but the first two episodes of the season have been funny and good all around...although both did involve treating patients fated to die, which is kind of morbid.

- Gilmore Girls - A good start to the season. The tension between Lorelai and Rory is a good point for the show to create drama around, and I'm hoping that it lasts for quite some time.

- My Name is Earl - A charming single-camera comedy. It didn't make me laugh hysterically, it didn't blow me away, but it was just good enough to keep me watching.

Wednesday
- LOST - Enough said.

- Invasion - Premiere was too slow. While the premise isn't original, there is still opportunity for some interesting things to go down...but this thing really didn't do anything to interest me beyond hypotheticals.

- Veronica Mars - It hasn't started yet, but EVERYBODY NEEDS TO WATCH IT. I'll be starting a thread over the weekend and if people want to get caught up on the first season I should be able to help with that, but this is the best show on television that nobody is watching right now. (For the record, Arrested Development qualifies as the best show on television that almost nobody is watching. There is an intrinsic difference)

- The Apprentice: Martha Stewart - Two things here. First off, she needs to stop writing letters. Second, Mark Burnett is really falling apart on his catchphrases.

The Tribe has Spoken - It's become iconic, and is simple and effective thanks to Probst's delivery.
You're Fired - It's iconic, includes hand gestures...a home run.
"You're not right for our band, INXS" - Maybe it was the guy who said it, but it was so very lame and just didn't work for me.
"You just don't fit in" - Lamest. Burnett. Catchphrase. EVER.

The show is almost identical to Trump, but I hope that the tasks are good. This one was a good one, and the people seem fine, she just seems uber-lame.

Thursday
- Survivor - I have yet to watch the latest episode, but the first one was interesting enough that I'm staying tuned for my 11th straight season...I feel older.

- Apprentice - Haven't watched the premiere yet, but I'm a sucker for reality TV.

- The O.C. - More like the O.Suck. A melodramatic, overly soap opera-like opening trifecta that honestly hasn't interested me in the least. Summer and Seth have been beacons of humour, but otherwise it's just been lame ass storyline after lame ass storyline, including the two most one-dimensional villains in the show's history, who have the absolutely most obvious conclusion in the coming weeks.

Friday
- Threshold – A good cast is elevating this particular sci-fi show, as Carla Gugino is a strong lead and the supporting cast all has their quirks in the right order. I’ll be staying tuned until this one jumps the shark.

Just a note on Head Cases, Fox already dropped it (yes i'm serious)

I read this somewhere and wasn't overly surprised. It's ratings on Wednesday against Lost were absolutely abysmal. This both bodes well for Veronica Mars and also doesn't. It is one less original show to compete with, but at the same time it shows that Lost is still the juggernaut it once was.

It gets to follow America's Next Top Model doesn't it? That should mean it can make it through a season unless it loses its legs when AMNT ends its season like Kevin Hill did.

It should be able to survive pretty well, yeah...you just never know sometimes.

I made this thread three days ago and nobody gave a damn to reply...bastards.

Anyway, here's my contribution.

Bones: Absolutely miserable.

Supernatural: Very decent, could see myself watching it if it weren't for the fact that it airs during House and the Office.

My Name is Earl: Funny, but the premise could run thin quickly.

Invasion: Miserable. Detestable characters and an uninteresting cliched story(Granted, this is after one episode, but I'm like that sometimes).

I saw it and was going to reply but I had a meeting and didn't have time and forgot about it. If this thread had had no replies when I came in I would have linked to and bumped your thread, I swear.

We watched Invasion ep1 last nite... it was SO boring -_-
Giving it 2 more eps max, the pace is too slow for my liking =(

...but then again, it's probably because we watched it right after Lost S2 premiere ^_^

I don't watch too much TV, but I'll be checking out the Law & Orders (All 3,) The King of Queens, and the Fox Sunday Lineup.

Arrested Development - Absolutely the best comedy out there, not even football can pull me away on Monday nights.

Bones - Well it's just too...out there. Perhaps tone down the "oh I invented a hologram machine that just happens to perfectly recreate victims!" and the always right scientists, then I may give it another chance.

Supernatural
- I already love this show, the cast is pretty good so far and the plot, for being "supernatural," doesn't seem crazy. But I have class on Tuesday nights most times until 10...are they showing the episodes on Sundays still?

Currently I've watched:

House MD: Still "waiting" to watch the last episode of last season, but the new season has been just as good. Jennifer Morrison is as hot as ever.

CSI Miami: Quite good, even though it was pretty damn weird.

LOST: Jawsome.

Justice League Unlimited: Still keeps a very high standard, and will be awesome after the great season last year. The Legion of Doom Vs. The Justice Leage will be fantastic!

Here are a current list of dates of some of the shows:

Time Until Lost S02E02 "Adrift" Airs: 5days 8hrs 52mins 8secs

Time Until NCIS S03E02 "Kill Ari (2)" Airs: 4days 8hrs 52mins 7secs
Time Until Invasion S01E02 "Lights Out" Airs: 5days 10hrs 52mins 7secs

I'm not sure of exact times. There is also:

CSI New York
Las Vegas
Numb3rs

..

Cops Season 18 :P

If you missed the first season of Boston Legal, WATCH THE NEW ONES. It is one of the funniest shows around. James Spader and William Shatner are hilarious.

When do Numb3rs and The Amazing Race start? Also, with both Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis not seeing the light of day until the beginning of January, do you know if the UK will be getting episodes early, sort of like how Canada got the whole last season of Justice League unlimited about a month before America?

Damn, I had no idea Supernatural was on Sundays too. Yes, it's replayed (for at least the next two weeks) Sunday at 5. Thanks for the heads up.

Supernatural is the only new one of the bunch I've seen so far... highly impressed. Will definately watch again.

My Name Is Earl - Jason and Lee and Ethan whathisname (I WANT TO SEE THE SAILBOAT!), can't go wrong. Not laugh-out-loud funny at this point, but its amusing to watch, so I'll probably keep tuning in.

House - Still fucking awesome. Best episodic with minor continuity show on television!

LOST - I love House, but LOST is completely different. Both shows have great characters, writing, and cinematography, but LOST wins out *slightly* because of its enduring mystery and serialization.

Bones - PBBBBBBTTTTT! I don't like psychology! Its a soft science! I have emotional problems, that's why I'm so cold to people! Despite being somewhat cliche, the characters on the show would be more believable with better writing.

Invasion - Ehhhhh. Could be good, but maybe they blew their load too quickly? I was expecting something LOST-esque, but unless they throw a major curveball a few episodes in, it'll be more like a V reprise.

The Office - Still like it. Once again, not laugh-out-loud funny, but I'm amused when I watch it.

Family Guy - Good as ever, IMO. There certainly is a tendency to reuse old side characters and exaggerate character behavior this season, but I think this was the original intent. FG couldn't get away with most of this stuff before because FOX had it by the balls, but after seeing the success on DVD and CN, Seth has been allowed a bit more free reign it would seem.

American Dad - Funny. Its definitely gotten better since it started. Not quite as good as Family Guy, but it deserves to stay on the air at this point.

New show I've seen:

My Name is Earl - Hilarious show, should be even better without having to throw the background info in which took up space.

Returning Shows:

The Office - God, this hit close to home, I think that just amplifies the hilarity.

Las Vegas - Don't know if I like the new boss, but the rest of the show is still ACE. Going to miss Nessa though:/

Justice League Unlimited - Hell yeah, this is a damn fine continuation. Even episodes that I thought would be filler like the Shadow of the Hawk one turned out to be very interesting.

Family Guy - Still damn funny, but not quite as funny as last season, but I'm sure it'll pick back up again.

American Dad - Much better than last season, some of the delivery and humor is just great. Plus Patrick Stewart is a fine comic actor.

There was a good FBI drama on a few months ago called "The Inside". I was enjoying it, but then it was gone after only 6/7 episodes. Supposed to return sometime though. Enjoying House and NCIS again. Might latch onto Invasion. Haven't seen anything else new.

What? This isn't the 11th season of Survivor (unless this show does like two seasons a year, I don't watch the damn thing), didn't it start in 2000?

I am surprised no one is mentioning Nip Tuck. Best show with Rome, that is comming up very nice.

I would like to see survivor too but dont have enough time =[

Other shows that interest me but havent watched: Grays anatomy, arrested development, my name is earl.

IMO, the three best series currently on are still Lost, House, and Arrested Development. The episode of House last Tuesday was great, especially the end.

I've enjoyed Prison Break despite it being a little cheesy, and I liked the first ep. of My Name is Earl. Have Invasion on Tivo but haven't watched it yet.

Two a year, plus the first one aired over the summer, so it evens out. Seems like yesterday...

I have to chime in and agree with the poster who said Veronica Mars is the best show on TV no one is watching. Except I'll go a step further and say its the best show on TV, flat out, viewers or no. And I <3 Kristen Bell.

So when did ABC decide that Alias would be starting this fall? Last I heard it wouldn't begin until January, similar to 24.

I saw a commercial for it last night and was totally confused, I had no idea it was beginning Thursday night.

weeds - i like this a lot.
rome - i'm already addicted.
lost - only network show i plan to watch.
deadwood - oh god...why didnt anyone ever tell me about this show before????

Well, let me just say Reality Series are DEAD. Except if the name of that show is AMAZING RACE. :D Hell, even Apprentice which I used to like a lot, sucks already.

But other than Amazing Race, I watch:

Lost
Gilmore Girls
Veronica Mars
Invasion

...

and I actually planning on watching Despearate Housewives (yes), House and The Office.

Series I'm losing interest on but will check out first episode this season are:

Smallville
24

For some reason, I watch more TV nowadays than anime. Been burned out with anime lately so my TV gets more attention nowadays.

okay, i just watched supernatural and surface.. im really liking both shows. but surface feel like its more of a miniseries.. i dont see how something like that can last several seasons.
