I ended up getting one today. Best day of my life :D. I was farming the Penetentiary because a youtube video showed me where one was. But it wasnt there yesterday. Tried again today. Never doing alcohol again unless i have one in my inventory.

Ooo didn’t know that existed thanks

This double xp is helping a ton. I need to learn how to be self sustainable though. I buy everything and just hope to loot ammo. I don’t craft much

Tried the game again, but I just can't handle how badly it performs.

Playing on a 2080 and I still can't get a smooth frame rate. The frame pacing is beyond annoying.

Weird.

I'm running an i5 + 970 combo and run @ 1080/60 quite easily. Even whilst streaming.

Double XP weekend was great. Only got a few hours in but gained 10 levels.

Loving my stealth build with the Chinese stealth armor, and suppressed lever action.

Watching mobs fire blindly, not knowing where my shots are coming from til it's too late is great fun 😁

I’m surprised at how single-player it feels. I’m barely seeing any other players. I can go hours thinking I’m playing a single-player game.

Edit: also, it’s nice to do some gaming again. :)

Loving this game, been playing with a friend on PC.

Best FO experience, probably, it's coop-F04 basically, with somewhere between F03 and FNV questing.

I'll play this on and off for years for sure.

Got a bounty on my head for unknowingly stealing from another player. Turns out the only way to get rid of a bounty is to let another player kill you.

Yeah. I’m hooked and I just avoid everyone. If I see people at an event I will go to it for the rewards and stuff. But other than that I never see people. I’ve claimed a few benches and scared someone is gonna come kill me but hasn’t happened.

I enjoy modern Bethesda games so I’ve been keeping an eye on FO76. Finally tried it this past weekend during the free demo period and went ahead and bought it on PS4. God golly is it an ugly game with some wonky performance but I’m enjoying it thus far. Oddly enough my PS4 Pro isn’t too loud, the last couple games I played were pretty much jet engine loud through the entire game so that’s nice.

I haven’t tried any multiplayer yet and hardly had any run ins with other folk but that will most likely change as I advance. A work associate just picked it up so I may have an IRL pal to dick about with in WV, that may be fun :)
Once I level up a bit more and if I feel I might stick around a while I may sub FO1st for a bit but seems like right now would be a bit of a waste esp with TLOU2 coming soon.
If any one on PS4 wants to add me feel free- same name!

Would you look at that? There are mods for this game after all. Installed Better Inventory and Proto Vault Suit for now.
Also used Fallout 76 Configuration tool to disable intro movies and increase 1st person fov. It`s so much more enjoyable now.

Anyone know if they fixed the latency? Like when you shoot an enemy there is a split second delay for the hit marker to pop up? That was my biggest annoyance with the game when it came out.

Well, i can feel a delay when i kill enemies or open containers. But i assumed it was due to me being in south america, far from the servers.

I don't think so ..the faster ones still get a swipe at me AND then die ..It is extremely annoying

Figures. Guess I won't be playing the new updates then. Latency is the biggest pet peeve of mine for any game and it was bad in 76 when it released. Too bad too, I love the world and atmosphere of the game. Exploring post-apocalyptic West Virginia is wonderful, that was really the only good thing this game... but the gameplay latency just completely ruins the experience for me.

I absolutely wrote off F76 last year. It was a shit boring game with nothing but tape exposition everywhere. I've been playing it for the past week and I'm digging it to be honest. I haven't crashed at all and the only issue I had was when I couldn't load the game because the server thought I had a different client version. Just did a quick repair and that cleared it up. It still has the janky Fallout 4 gun mechanics and the VATS is a hit or miss. NPCs really do make a difference. Coming across a random cultist or raider just hanging by the side of the road ready to gank you, is pretty fun.

The double xp weekend really helped a lot. I think it starts off really slow and when you get to about 15ish, you get enough perks to try out and figure what you want to do. At 20 is when you get your stride and where the fun starts to ramp up. I think there's a difficulty spike near the late 20s and early 30s where I'm at. I feel like I'm getting murdered real quick because I don't have combat armor plans unlocked.

Will this be a No Man's Sky like rebound? I highly doubt it. But the direction is a positive one for sure.

I can see them going Free to play in like 2021 and it taking off

Does the Legendary Purveyor allow us to buy 3 star armor at lvl 50 or do they always drop at Lvl45?

She will only give out max level gear, 50/45 depending on the item. Max level for an item is 50 but not all items can reach 50, for example a pump shotguns max level is 45.

So if you get something that is level 45, that is it's maximum in game level. Don't worry too much about level though, the legendary affixes are far more important.

Some top players will opt for a lower level item over a higher level item if the legendary affixes are better for their build.

FYI the "First" Season Pass is free. Keep that in mind. In addition to that, they're removing how many Atoms you can earn daily. Becoming more P2P.

I picked this up a few weeks ago and am surprised by how much I like it. It's UI is really clunky but I'm kind of used to it now and the world is the most interesting and well done open world I've played so far. Actually I'm pretty consistently amazed by how many different locations there are that are unique with a lot of detail.

Having said that, I'm concerned about the One Wasteland update planned. I hated level scaling in Oblivion and ESO and it sounds like it will be the same thing.

I’d rather see the season(battle) pass tied to fallout 1st after its first free season. If that happens and works... we may see a bit of a solution to the subscription model on console. That is while still assuming the brotherhood quest and all actual gameplay content stay free.

I’m leaning towards a non-automatic handcanon build. Maybe pair it up with a long range rifle. At lvl 62 now and finally can start making a powerful build of some kind.

Just caught a brief glimpse of YongYea’s latest sensationalist faux outrage hack-gamer reporting on the battle pass... pretty much in-line with most driveby shitposting on 76.

Get your own opinions, drones.

PS- Best Fallout

As is evident from this very thread, some people are going to try and cling to anything they can to shit on the game they've never played.

Conjecture and assumption are just the latest (and only?) things they have now.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I've paid £7 (and not a penny more) for a game I've now spent hundreds of hours enjoying, and the developers keep throwing a ton of free content my way.

Even if they do end up merging/charging something extra for a "battle pass", I'm damn sure more likely to buy that than a pass for fucking Forknife, or CoD.

P.S - If anyone is on the PC and wants Chinese stealth armor, or a decent level Lever Action, hit me up :messenger_peace:

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Bethesda must be making a ton on micro-transactions and Fallout 1st. However I feel about the game, there’s a group of people that enjoy the game. It can’t be cheap to keep Fallout 76 running and updated, and that audience must buy everything that comes out.
Every game has it's whales.

The game also needs to survive for Bethesda(as a developer). Starfield and ES won't be out for a while so.... I doubt another skyrim remaster will hold them over.

Here I was thinking they’d charge for the battle pass after first season or move it to fallout 1st. Welp, sensationalist jerk-off Yong Yea owned again.

I just went from not giving a shit to maybe wanting to grind out a cosmetic or two.

I may give the BR mode a spin this week. Haven’t touched it since like August and there’s a few cosmetic and camp items to unlock for the overall game in it.

How hard would it be for them to add something like the Vault-Tec Workshop dlc from Fallout 4 with “instanced interiors”? Maybe you find a location that goes deep, deep underground, and was built for design experiments, caverns fifteen levels down.. you dial in which level you want to go to in the elevator and enter someone else’s vault/cavern or your own.. can build, including Fallout Shelter style room modules for a maintenance/growth loop like settlements - power generator, infirmary etc. - plus maybe new ones like hotel, saloon, whatever - to attract visitors.. and the rest is free-form ..

Underground instanced player "bunkers" are coming later this year. Should be fairly similar to F4 I imagine.

I dont think I am playing this game right haha.

I have found a few power armor suits, and I use them until they die. How come I see some people in them all the time? Am I supposed to take it back to my base or how come I can loot pieces of it? I thought it was just a 1 piece suit that was only good when you had a core?

Interesting - was that in the roadmap somewhere and I missed it?

Get in one that has spawned outside. Get out. Look at the Power Armour and you'll have the option to "collect" it which will add it to your inventory as PA Chassis.
You can loot fusion cores from PA in the world as well as finding them in random places. PA pieces can be mixed and matched and transferred in and out of a placed PA Chassis.

ohhh. Ok i have had the chasis in my inventory for awhile. I thought that was the core. I need to place it in my base then? And I can pick up other arms and legs and stuff? does it compare the quality?

You can place the PA Chassis anywhere, not just your base. Select it from the inventory and you'll be prompted to place it. Red outline bad, green good :messenger_winking:
Just transfer pieces from other chassis to your inventory, then transfer to your main chassis (assuming there is space for that helm/chest/limb). You can see the quality of the item from the same transfer menu e.g. level, condition, general resistance stats.

You'll need a Power Armor workbench to repair or modify your PA. You'll get plans for that workbench by following the story and you can also find them in the world.

Thank you. I will mess with this today! I have been carrying it around for a month. I cant remember seeing individual pieces or not, just the chasis then I guess i can piece it apart?

As an extensive PA user I'll give you some tips I wish I knew early on

1.PA is insanely durable . It doesn't break nearly as quickly as other pieces of gear by a long shot. So if you see your PA at around 25% left of durability it can last you quite a long time so rushing to fix it isn't necessary , especially if you're struggling for mats

2.There is a perk card under INT. later on that greatly increases your fusion core longevity . So pick up cores as you see them but don't go over board , having 200 power cores is not needed!

3. The armor pieces you pull of the random PA around the world are HEAVY! However if you equip them to your chassis the weight of the indiviual parts are negated and only the weight of the chassis is counted (10lbs)

4. With that said , if you see parts on a chassis that you want but are higher level than you , you cannot get into the armor or even collect it. Best thing to do here is to collect the parts , get into the chassis to claim it, get out and requip the parts and leave it . It will automatically be called back to your inventory after a bit and will only weigh 10lbs

Christ ... well...

Checked my in-game clock... about 150 hours with this game since launch. Not too much compared to most semi-hardcore players but I’ve seen a good chunk of the game.

Ive experience a good amount of open world fatigue this gen. Everything felt like Assasin’s Creed at some point. Zelda and Witcher 3 are my favorite of the bunch.

Why tho? Exploration right? Well... goddamnit.... I think this game does exploration better than ANY of them.

It’s jank. It’s a Bethesda game. It’s jack of all trades master of none situation... but it really nails the sense of exploration and resource scavenging in a way where I’m actually a bit more compelled to do it than I would be in a single player rpg.

Great game

I tried it recently and was put off by how poorly it was performing on my PC. mid range I7 and 2070 Super at 1440p. Maybe something is wrong on my end. Will investigate further when I get back to it
