Why are people surprised about this?

Xenoblade did NOT do well in Japan. It did alright by Wii JRPG standards, but it didn't in anyway do nearly as well as many of it's Gaf Hardcore fans seem to think it did.

Also we haven't even had a trailer for SMT x FE. Even if we had, SMT IV and FE:A did good, but again nothing really amazing. So maybe when we actually see something, anything about the game it might show up.

Famitsu has a seperate list for new IPs, but new IPs are also eligible for this list. Since they tend to have fewer fans (being unreleased new IPs), they tend to score lower on 'most anticipated' lists.

Originality's nice and all, but I also think a lot of games on that list are worth anticipating.

Complaints are valid yes... but who here wasn't expecting worse when they clicked on this?
I know was expecting hatsu miku and whatever else.
Instead... I find every Japanese game basically worth following[that's not on wiiu, anyway], and a bunch a Dynasty Warrior BS. Things are looking up in the land of the rising sun.

Not too surprised by the top entries. It's seems like the type of games Famitsu readers would be into. The only games I didn't expect to see on there were The Evil Within and Watchdogs.
 
Freedom Wars is there but not X.

How much did Xenoblade sell ltd? I know it wasn't good but it had good word of mouth/reviews by those who played it. And it's kind of hard to find.
They should have quickly followed with rereleases or enhanced editions to keep interest up.

what I really want to know about Xenoblade is the Europe/NA sales, stupid NPD

Demons souls did 275k-300k. Dark souls did 370k-400k iirc

I wouldn't get you hopes up, after all its a jrpg on the WiiU. The audience is just not there.
