Your "less than 2M" prediction for the PlayStation's third-party software sales in 2021 is way too aggressive IMO.

The issue is that compared to last year there would be a lot more Switch titles in the Top 1000, and a lot less on the PS4/PS5. So far the "major" titles on the PS4/PS5 that have a launch date are Village, Nier Replicant, Scarlet Nexus, Lost Judgement, Tails of Arise - combined it doesn't seem that they would be able to surpass 1 million units.

Based on E3, I might bump them up a bit. Since I'm basing the decline on what we know so far.

Without putting too much thinking, a decline of 50% of the PS4 third-party sales compared to 2020 + 500K for PS5 third-party sales would fall in the range between 3-4 million units.

it's relevant because it shipped 3.65M outside Japan hence if you live in a Japanese sales bubble and you want to limit your discussion with it's Japan sales then yes it is an ouch.

I find it irrelevant if you only talk about Japan sales and limit the discussion in it because the loss sales in Japan is being compensated by the other markets.

300K in one market is still a large numbers. You can say ouch all you want but you are not looking in the grand scheme of things. Resident Evil 9 will still happen and it will still release in Japan as well so posting concern is rather pointless at this point.

good to see the ps5 preorders ahead of ps4 even if it is only 1 source, it was mind boggling to me that the ps5 wasn't pushing software at all but tracking ahead of ps4
