[Weekly software and hardware sales figures] "Power Pro 2024-2025" tops the charts for the third consecutive week! "Nintendo Switch Sports" and "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" also return to the top 10 [7/29-8/4]​


Sales ranking announced by Famitsu. This time, we bring you a summary of the estimated weekly sales of game software and hardware from July 29 to August 4, 2024.

Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 continues to do well, selling 21,392 units this week. Sales on the Nintendo Switch version alone exceeded 200,000 units making it hit the top spot for the third consecutive week.

An update was implemented on August 1, 2024, making all modes easier to play, so if you've been interested but haven't played it yet, why not take this opportunity to give it a try?

From second place onwards are regular top 10 titles such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, Nintendo Switch Sports and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which had been out of the rankings for a long time and has returned to the top 10. One Piece Odyssey Deluxe Edition which was second last week has made it into ninth place this week.

Meanwhile, looking at the hardware, cumulative sales of the PlayStation 5 in Japan have exceeded 5.9 million units and if all goes well it is likely to reach 6 million units during the summer vacation season.

Thats what I call dominating... Despite the PS5 hardware sales not that bad...

Monster Hunter Wilds is the game with the best chance of moving the needle in Japan.

Roughly 30% to 70% depending on the game, platform and stock availability. PS5 packaged software sales wouldn't be good even with digitial, but the F2P games could be doing quite well, as that's an area it has a competitive advantage over Switch.
