Gundam Breaker 4 with a great debut (I think it outperformed the previous release launch sales).

The Visions of Mana sales on the other hand are a tad disappointing looking as it regressed from what Trails of Mana did (it also didn't help there was no NSW version this time around).

04./00. [PS5] Visions of Mana <RPG> (Square Enix) {2024.08.29} (¥7.980) - 30.696 / NEW
09./00. [PS4] Visions of Mana <RPG> (Square Enix) {2024.08.29} (¥7.980) - 10.068 / NEW

02./00. [PS4] Trials of Mana # <RPG> (Square Enix) {2020.04.24} (¥5.980) - 80.383 / NEW <80-100%>
03./00. [NSW] Trials of Mana # <RPG> (Square Enix) {2020.04.24} (¥5.980) - 70.114 / NEW <80-100%>

02./00. [PS4] Seiken Densetsu 2: Secret of Mana # <RPG> (Square Enix) {2018.02.15} (¥4.800) - 28.171 / NEW <40-60%>
09./00. [PSV] Seiken Densetsu 2: Secret of Mana # <RPG> (Square Enix) {2018.02.15} (¥4.800) - 14.019 / NEW <60-80%>

As for Emio, I think it did decent, although I'm not sure what the other Famicom Detective Club release did back when it launched a few years ago.

Mana doing pretty poor as expected, I guess SE expected Switch 2 to be out by now.

The FDC remakes did 12.269, so this is double.

I guess Visions could have higher digital sales than Trials. It's also on PC/Steam so hopefully shifted a few on there.

But yeah no Switch release has hurt it. Which isn't a surprise considering the visuals.

Nintendo hurry up with the Switch 2!!!

Good software performance for PS in the Top 10, a rare sight. Switch is holding on very well in Japan; I'm not familiar with the sales of Mana games but it seems everyone is saying the new one has underperformed? That's disappointing, but maybe it'll get a tick up in coming weeks, and in international markets.

I'm guessing the PS5 #s are before the price increase was placed in effect? Because if this is after, well as long as software sales show continued improvement, it would bode quite well for the system in the Japanese market.

You need to pay more attention to details...

The price didn't change until September 2nd.

So much for that Xbox sky rocket stuff or is it too early to call? Also they really need to start tracking digital at this point because that dynamic in Japan for PlayStation has really changed over the last 5 years. SF6 has opened my eyes to this as I think it's actually selling more in Japan than U.S. Visions of Mana has been top 5 and Gundam Breaker 4 has been top 3 both since release.

EDIT: Oh so the price change didn't take effect by then. Got it. Still my second part still stands about the digital sales.

Which details should they pay attention to? They said "I'm guessing the PS5 #s are before the price increase was placed in effect?" which is 100% accurate.

There's no need for guess work or speculation. There are facts.

This poster doesn't work off of facts, it's always speculation while ignoring the facts that we have.

Again, their most infamous being suggesting that the PSVR2 PC would be achieved via streaming. Made up entirely out of whole cloth.

Surprised to see Gundam on 3 plataforms, even on PS4(still kicking it seems).
I like Gundam, though I didn't heard of this game until now. Is it any good?

Curious to see the drop PS5 sales will have next week due to the price increase.
Speculation was that people would rush this week to buy the console at the lower price before it was too late but in reality it sold the same as the previous week before the price increase announcement...which could mean that PS5 is already being sold to an enthusiast crowd that is not so price sensitive. Let's see if sales drop below 20k.

That's fair, will be interesting to see the price impact in the months ahead.

People might also opt to buy used PS5s. When I stopped by a local retailer (on the 3rd) didn't have any used PS5s in the glass display case. They usually have 3 or 4 there (mix of old design/new design) with more used stock available. I didn't know about the price increase until seeing this thread.

Got some more launch sales numbers from IB for other recent MAGES VN titles, which adds more context to Emio's sales figures.

Also, going a bit off on a tangent, but I wish MAGES would localize 'Summer Time Rendering: Another Horizon' into English. The anime/manga it’s based on was one of my favorite time travel stories in recent years, so I’d definitely buy it at full price if they translated it and released it in the West.

[PS4] The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie: Five Memories of My Time with You (MAGES., 06/02/22) – 9,029
[NSW] The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie: Five Memories of My Time with You (MAGES., 06/02/22) – 21,440
[NSW] ANONYMOUS;CODE (MAGES., 07/28/22) – 6,450
[PS4] ANONYMOUS;CODE (MAGES., 07/28/22) – 3,696
[NSW] Summer Time Rendering: Another Horizon (MAGES., 01/26/23) – 1,670

Compared to other Nintendo ADV games
[NSW] Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind + The Missing Heir (Nintendo, 05/14/21) – 12,269
[NSW] Another Code: Recollection (Nintendo, 01/19/24) – 15,741 (New)

Not developing your fairly niche Japanese console game with the Switch in mind is a pretty big gamble it seems. Looks like it cost Ouka studio its business and probably the Mana franchise is dead for a while again. Japan needs the Switch 2 fast.

Unreal Engine 4 is tough on Switch. It's getting to the point where making games for the Switch probably isn't the way to go and it is highly likely that this will drop on the Switch 2.

Wonder how VoM is doing in other regions? I'll wait for a deep sale on PS5 or more likely wait for the Switch 2 release.

Imma sort of gundam fans since 90s, i find this game is one of if not the best action gundam since zeonic front. If counted, is also among best gundam games such as SD gundam gen genesis, SD gen spirit, SD battle alliance for me. Easily best latest gundam action game. Customization is awesoome, combat is not lacking as the prequel, definitely must try

I'm starting to get worried about the PS4 in its battle Vs Xbox. The Xbox is just better we have to deal with it.

I'm other news ps5 is cruising towards 10M and unlike past playstations it gets price increases!

Will be interesting to see where the ps5 weekly sales averages with the price increase, currently it's sub 20s.

If sales stay in the sub 20s, sony will get away like bandits with the price increase.

If it starts hitting <10k then good luck.

For some genres I would say that's true, but not for mid-tier JRPGs like Mana. Atelier, Trials and SaGa are still coming to Switch and I think that's the right move.

Pretty poor in the UK, Switzerland and Spain. Could have done well in Germany, New Zealand and Australia. We don't know about North America yet.

It's only been sub 20,000 once so far this year, so it's not that bad.

It's me only consistently saying what you don't like to hear, and you're the only one who complains so just put two and two together.

You created a nonsensical rumor that PSVR2 on PC would be via streaming.

I corrected you as to why that made no sense and you didn't retract it. As a result you had a multitude of people thinking it was going to be streaming.

You're right, I don't like hearing nonsense.
