Haven’t looked into Jamboree yet myself, will likely get it as a gift for my gf this holiday.
Have they finally put in online play? (Without needed to coordination via discord or something)

Sonic already dissapeared from his top 20(not even top 10)? Dissapointing lol

Good work from Mario Party though, and Zelda holding there, keep up.

Jamboree is selling at faster rate than previous 2 Mario Party games.

Super Mario Party - 2.3m
Mario Party Superstar - 1.5m

Romancing Saga 2 Remake is nearing 100k units in physical sales on Switch alone, and combined with digital, it's probably closer to the 200k mark by the end of the year.

Visions of mana Developers made a huge mistake by developing their game without taking the Switch platform into consideration, which resulted in their studio closure. Switch userbase could potentially contribute to their easy 500k units worldwide, but they refused to acknowledge that.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
I thought western games/genres had been on the rise in Japan but that doesn't look great for BLOPS (even if it's in the top 3, that's a huge drop and not many total sales).

Switch still going strong, dang.

Good legs for Mario and Zelda, plus PS5 may have got a boost from the MH Wilds beta.

Rooting for SaGa to do well over the holidays.

Disappointing but not surprising. Sonic hasn't been big in Japan for a while.

COD did see see growth on the PS4, but that's been eroded now. Plus COD would be one of the games with a particularly high digital ratio.

Neither CoD, but even CoD beat Sonic in Japan with is nuts.

Sonic as a mascot is still popular in Japan, but japanese folks are more very cautious about Sonic games as their quality usually are mix bag.

PS5 50k next week?

Will be interesting to see how many people get a PS5 Pro over there due to Monster Hunter Wild.

This and Dragon Quest 12 are big deals for PlayStation in Japan. Will be interesting to see if DQ12 falls in 2025 and whether it will be Switch or Switch 2.

The Sonic games have been selling below COD for a long now. The only recent exceptions have been the Olympic games titles.

I'm finding it very difficult to predict, but that sounds about right.

With DQ 1+2 being next year, I don't have too hope of 12 being out in 2025.

Apart from the titles you mentioned, I also think GTAVI and Ghost will be big deals in Japan (though not as big). Their predecessors did over million.

When's DQ13 out? First I'm hearing of this announcement. Is it on switch also or do they suspect a switch 2 port?

Mibu no ookami Mibu no ookami , following our earlier discussion on digital, we can calculate a new example from Nintendo's latest results.

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Total Japan shipment as of 30 September - 480,000
Physical sales as of 29 September (from Famitsu) - 200,121 (representing (60-80% of physical shipment).
Therefore total physical shipment was 250,151 - 333,535
Therefore the digital split was 30.5% - 47.8%

When's DQ13 out? First I'm hearing of this announcement. Is it on switch also or do they suspect a switch 2 port?
DQ12 was announced in 2020 but we have no platforms announced or hardly any other information. Its very likely to be multiplatform, but not sure if it will be on Switch 1, Switch 2 or both. PS4/XBS/PC are guaranteed I think.

If it comes out next year I think a Switch version will be very important as the Switch 2 userbase won't be that large. But of course, then the Switch's technical challenges could hold back the scope of the game in some way. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see DQ12 mentioned at the Switch 2 reveal event.

It would be an idiotic move by Square Enix if they didn't put the next mainline Dragon Quest game on Switch with 38 million userbase in 2025.

Switch is the only platform in Japan that can support 4-5 million seller from 3rd party developers.
