The stellar reviews have my curiosity piqued now on this title. I didn't enjoy FarCry 2 at all, so much so I only played a few hours at most of the campaign, and thought the MP was total crap.

So looking at the MP video for here I'm still not fully convinced. Which version is shown in the MP trailer in the OP ? PC ?

I have a gaming PC that can run this without issue, but I suck at PC FPS', and would prefer X360 IF the MP this time is going to kick ass. If it's just another throwaway I'd rather wait for a sale and get the PC version for the SP.

What do you guys think?

I'm sold on the game and I should have time to play it in December. I'm just waiting for a PC deal in the US but if there isn't one, I'll still be picking it up day 1. This is the style of FPS I still enjoy.

Unfortunately this seems more like a Single Player first type of outing.

The multiplayer doesn't look like trash though IMO. Just very derivative. But with the Map Editor, i'll gladly play it for peoples creations.

That's fair. The reviews don't really go deep into MP too, but I'm glad to see that the SP experience is so well done that it alone makes the game worth the $60.00 for most these holidays.

I'll grab it as a X-Mas gift for myself for PC version then. Great job on the OT.

Have you seen the SSAO in the review thread ? Someone used the brush tool too much. Your 7870 doesn't deserve to have such settings ON, in a good way if you understand.

Not sure if that difference justifies 70 frames.

I run games at 1680*1050 anyway so I might just get it playable without sacrificing too much detail on a 560ti.

What the hell. There is nothing in that maxed out screen that would warrant a sub 40 frame rate. This is really bad.

I am under the impression that the tearing in both PS3 and Xbox versions is because of capture kit issues. Who knows though.

Far Cry 2 gave you the option to "wound" enemies. Example: Shoot a guy in the leg and he screams out to his buddies for help.

Is this still in Far Cry 3?

Everything is to be marked on the map, in the menus and, apparently, on my retinas, and repeatedly pointed out to me, the donkey following the carrot. "Come along! Explore HERE and HERE and HERE! No, not there, there's no dot on the map in that direction, silly!" I'm having a pretty strong reaction of disgust towards this sort of game design. Fuck.

I agree, the HUD elements are downright atrocious. There has to be a way to remove it all though right, maybe some ini settings? Does anyone have the PC version at this point?

It probably won't allow it but imagine if we could create new game modes like with StarCraft 2 where there's maps for all kinds of shit, and of course DotA.
