So what all did they do to beef up the graphics here? Up the lighting resolution? Pretty lame, imo.

EDIT - I think it's 360. The aspect ratio indicates that and the shadow from the tree is a bit too high res for xbox I think.
 
Gotta love subtitles for subtitles. Next you know, everyone is going to stop making sequels, and just make ports of their past titles, and add more and more subtitles.

The graphics look fine.

All of you people that bitch about lazy ports have nothing to complain about with this game. The Xbox 360 version is going to have both games so it ends up being a pretty good value.

How do these screens justify this response? Have you seen the game in motion on an HDTV?

Your post makes no sense. No, I haven't seen the game in motion on my HDTV, but that's not what I'm commenting on. I was commenting on these screens, and they sure as hell justify the response. This crap barely measures up to the PC version, and that's just pathetic.
 
I think it looks awesome. If it is as good as Instincts was on the Xbox I'm going to be loving this one on the 360.

No. It looks 10 times better than the PC version. You're the one who is making no sense by over exaggerating.

And that'd be from Far Cry in early 2004, running on by modern standards outdated hardware. I honestly don't know why you guys are so eager to defend mediocrity.
 
Seeing as though almost all the art in Instincts was sourced from the original PC game and Predator seems to be the same in that regard, and they are all running on the same engine I think comparisons are assanine.

The 360 shots do look 10 times better than the one you (and others) posted. Plus this will be HD-Quality.

It is amusing that based on a handful of screenshots, you label the game as "mediocre".
 
Well, screenshots often don't do justice to shader effects etc, which is probably what separates the 360 version from the PC original. I'll admit, the geometry doesn't look astounding, but the colors, resolution, and lighting look pretty nice. I'll definitely give this a rent..

Ahh, fuck it. I'm not gonna argue with a bunch of Xbots. If you want to support "next-gen" that offers the same shit with extra bloom lighting, that's fine.
 
going on just my memory i think the 360 shots look very comparable to pd0. while not mind blowing pd0 was pretty nice in the graphics department.

I was merely invalidating your point that a comparison of titles that used the same engine and art assets was assinine. Recognise ownage and just sit down... it's ok.

It's the first gen pf software, dude. Not every game is going to look like a mindblowing leap forward, particularly compared to a PC game that just came out a couple of years ago (whereas the last generation of consoles came out 5-ish years ago).

I mean, I bought the Dreamcast version of Tony Hawk 2 even though it basically only had higher resolution textures and better draw distance as compared to the PSOne version. You know why? Because it was fun, and it still looked better than it's last-gen counterparts. I had NFL2K and Soul Calibur if I wanted to show what the system was capable of (ie PGR3/Fight Night for 360), but there were plenty of other fun games that didn't live up to those visual standards. And that's ok too.
 
I downsized them to prevent the hosting bandwidth from dying (they were 1280x800), but here are some Far Cry PC shots I took a while ago...

It looks quite comparable to Far Cry with maxed settings, which leaves much to be desired. I hope it at least runs at 60 fps.

I haven't said a word about the overall quality of the game. If your argument depends on you adding things to my argument that I never even suggested, then you don't have much of an argument to begin with.

And I was saying that the assets are the same and the engine is the same and now the processor power is near the same so go have a coke and a smile and think about what you just said. You're the one comparing an Xbox 1 game to a top of the line PC.
 
i think i'll go against my no quicky port position on this one (sorry). i never got to play the pc one (shitty computer) and skipped on the xbox one as well...

You missed out on 2 really cool games then. :( Instincts was better than the PC one in terms of overall pace and only weakens near the end. The level editor in Instincts is amazing.

I agree about the A.I. in instincts being pretty weak. The game was more Rambo than anything else. Sometimes you get some really clever stuff happening and other times they are as dumb as dirt.
 
:lol at comparing shots of the PC version in low detail. People do some pretty underhanded things just to make themselves look like they are right in an argument.
