Well since this is suppost to be the end i guess i can agree with you. But honestly why not just show support and watch it, download it, and then buy it? I would hope that it might show that we love the show and at least let it go out with a bang.

So the Sci-Fi channel should continually pump money into a series that isn't making them any money(they actually losing money). The fanbase just simply isn't large enough for Sci-Fi to justify another season. If it had the fanbase of series like StarGate SG1, then you wouldn't be whining aout Sci-Fi channel canceling niche tv series. You should be happy that there is a mini-serie, if enough people watch it, then Sci-Fi might decide another season is worth it,

No, he's right. This is typical american cornball garbage.

Compare say... Cowboy Bebop to this, and this kinda stuff really shouldn't be on the radar of any self respecting sci-fi or indeed TV show enthusiast.

But were talking about live-action versus Anime. Come on give me a break. There havent been very many good Live Action Science Fiction Shows on tv since The Next Generation. Starget SG1, Farscape, Firefly all have been worthy of a lot of praise in the Sc-fi genre less for SG1 since it spawned a knock off show.

Farscape is good, its better than good it was great. And you shouldnt be here if you dont like it.

I'm just kidding. I do like it... for it's camp adventure atmosphere.

But it's far from the be all and end all of scifi; and extremely reasonable to dislike it based on its... corn ball cheesisms. :p But I guess that's why I like it.

It's ok. Your opinion can be marked as disregardable by me in future.

But just to see a little substance, what do you find so great about the show (farscape)?

Firstly, I dont give a fuck if you find my opinion diregardable.

What makes farscape so great is the overall quality of the storytelling and character development in the show. This wont be some long diatribe about the intricacies of the show and how it worked as it is unimportant. Farscape like any good show made me eager to watch it and see what would happen next in the story and to the characters.

Dude! so harsh. I just meant, we don't share the same kinds of tastes.

and how great could the show be if you're unwilling to go into a lengthy diatribe about its greatness in order to better spread the love for the show?

Bah, I won't continue this, to respect the fact this isn't a CB thread; but you want to convince people to watch this show... then you don't bother actually doing any convincing and you even put down another great show made in comparison.

Oh god I could vomit, Farscape is superior to any Japanese cartoon.

Save the money, Sci-Fi, and pick up Firefly. The writing, acting, and direction are an order of magnitude better than Farscape.

Can we stop with the pissy retarded fanboy filth and keep this thread open for farscape fans. mmk? If you don't like Farscape, then shut-up and go watch some reality-tv show or whatever shit that's called 'good tv" these days. Me, I'll be watching a mini-series that's been made just for the fans.

you want Firefly back, take a note from Farscape fans and do something about it.

I disagree with this statement. I would say that sci-fi in general has had at least one good series going for over the last decade. There was Space: Above and Beyond for the one season it lasted. Then there was both Deep Space Nine and Babylon 5. Then there was Farcape and Firefly. Plus Stargate is still going (although I would say this season and last season were pretty weak) and Stargate Atlantis just started.

Well they are getting a movie made due out in April. I personally can't wait (I really hope they have the themesong in the movie somehow, maybe the closing credits). I finally saw this series on DVD this weekend and it did rock, although I would never say it was better than Farscape. It certainly had the potential to be better, but with only 15 episodes, it had a long way to go.

I think he meant shows Sci-Fi produces themselves. I'm pretty sure S:A&B wasn't (I think its original production may even predate the channel), DS9 and B5 definitely weren't, and Firefly was Fox.

Whoops, I thought he meant sci-fi as a genre. Yeah, I would agree the Sci-Fi channel hasn't produced crap worth watching besides Farscape and the last few seasons of Stargate.

Firefly and Farscape - love 'em both. Go figure. But Farscape is the only one of the two that's got new episodes coming on within the next hour! :D

I suppose he might have, in which case I agree with your original post :)

It's great thus far. I totally forgot how much I loved and missed the show. It does feel like 13 episodes crammed into own, that's for sure.

Also, back to an earlier comment, I can't see how anyone could hate Farscape and call Sci Fi shows garbage and then praise Stargate. That's the very definition of retarded sci fi on television.

Part 1 was totally awesome. I loved seeing Chiana and Sikozu fighting side-by-side -- if only that little sequence could have been longer! I had forgotten a lot of things from Season 4, though. How did Sikozu and Scorpius end up piloting a Command Carrier together?

Weird question -- the wormhole dwellers say that John doesn't know enough to make wormhole weapons.....but didn't his copy/clone use a wormhole device to blow up a Scarran Dreadnought in the third season?

Wow, every other Farscape thread I've seen at GA has been thankfully free of idiots and trolls.....until now. Why the sudden concentration? On the bright side, I guess this has gotten about 3 times as many replies as the usual Farscape thread.

Firefly and Farscape have so much in common I honestly don't understand why fans of one have to dump all this hate on the other. They're both heavily character-driven space epics with hokey elements that seem stupid when you hear about them (puppets, "Western" themes) but actually work when you see them in action. It's kinda befuddling that someone could like one and just hate the other....almost as befuddling as why anybody likes SG1 ;)

You whine about "cornball crap" and praise Cowboy Bebop in the same breath?

You sir, are a walking contradiction! It's not like Bebop (which I actually do like) isn't full of hokey melodrama, predictable tropes, and anime cliches. Both shows present them with a postmodern sense of irony that's appealing, though.

If you are "you're unwilling to go into a lengthy diatribe" about the show's faults (instead offering sweeping nonspecific complaints) then you're just needlessly trolling and trying to get people riled up.

Farscape isn't really American either. Production is in Austrailia, actors are Austrailian, writers and producers are a mix of nationalities.

I believe we'll find out more about this in Part 2.....I remember the episode where his clone was talking to the alien and the alien said that they gave him the weapon knowledge in secret.

How did Sikozu and Scorpius end up piloting a Command Carrier together?
Braka picked them up in the beginning of the series finale

His "father" knew how to do it. John just picked it up as they were putting it together. They are probably going to make some kind of reference to Starks old mask (the one with a message for one John to the other), it might hold the secret.

Anyways, great show can't wait till tomorrow night!

Wow. Christmas came early for me. It was great seeing new Farscape material though it does seem somewhat condensed and abridged. Though I like actually love watching Farscape, I kind of wish they'd release some books as well that would flesh out what would have been the 5th season.

Agreed. Though I watch Stargate, I simply can't believe how overrated and overhyped it is on this forum. It's an entertaining(it used to be anyway. It's kinda boring now) show but it's also pretty uninspired and cliché. Some episodes are nearly direct 1:1 copies of other scifi show episodes. It's disgusting how blatant it is IMHO.

The fact that Atlantis is just Stargate with a new coating doesn't surprise me at all. The people behind those shows don't have any creativity at all.

I assume that it's something that would have been explained in a would-be 5th season.

I just felt this needed to be repeated.

Anyway, I loved just about everything I've seen so far. The only thing I'm not so sure about is the return of Jothee. I never really liked him and had hoped to never see him again.

The coolest part, when Harvey was dressed up as Einstein, on the board was E=MC Hammer.

I don't think they're really that similar in theme. Still, they are both good in their own ways, and I have to agree with the "wtf is so great about SG1 sentiment" even though I've seen nearly every episode of it.

Dunno, but it probably doesn't help prevent shows like these from getting cancelled...

Anyway, the pacing was a little tricky at first, but it finds its legs by the second hour. I was a little unsure of how well the Conciliator's role would play out, but it proves to have its place, if for nothing else than a fireball to the face!

Classic Farscape stuff all around.

I'm really glad they kind of explained the Peacekeeper/Human connection. It was always implied that there was one since they look identical and obviously can produce offspring but they never explained how they were separated until now.

yeah, got that fact. Sounds like he said they pulled them from Earth, 27,000 years ago. I think.

I was kinda glad they didn't keep him around for so long. I was getting afraid that the whole 4 hour mini-series was going to be about getting him to the right people and everyone will be all "lovey-dovey". I was uneasy because that kind of plot wasn't "Farscape" to me.

I clapped when he got shot in the face :) THAT was the Farscape I knew

I loved some of the funny Farscape moments. Big smile on my face when I saw Rygel swimming around eating fishies in the opening. Aeryn having like 20 guns on her during the weapon search....good stuff.

Pilot sounds a little different. Maybe they are using a new actor for his voice? The actor who played Crais also voiced Pilot in the series.

I agree that the first hour felt like a race, but evened out in the 2nd hour and I was able to collect my bearings.

I thought so at first too though later it just seemed like the same voice but just a little deeper. IMDB says it's the same VA for pilot in the mini as in the series, IE Crais.

I noticed at the beginning Chiana's voice sounded different, but by the end I didn't notice it. I'm not sure if it is just because I got used to it or if it started sounding normal again.
