What the fuck. They could have atleast hid and waited until they were dropped off. So they wouldnt have to see that. Obviously they knew he would be there.

I understand that you have to do your shitty job but atleast try to look like decent people.

This is starting to happen in Europe too. There's currently a case here in Norway where a Palestinian family who came here 27 years ago, and who have been Norwegian citizens for 20 years, are facing expulsions. And it goes for them, their children and their grandchildren. So three generations risking being sent out.

And another ongoing case where a Norwegian citizen, who has a steady job as a bio-engineer, has lost his citizenship after 17 years. This because the gov't claims he lied about his country of origin when he came here alone as a 14 year old.

So yeah, the entire western world seems to be clamping down on immigrants.

20 years is fast. It took 22 years for my mom's petition from my grandparents (who were citizens, but only after my mom was born). This was in the 80's.

Check the dates for Mexico. There are families that petitioned in 1994 that are only now getting processed, 23 years later.

Such a long wait, one of my siblings is gonna start the same process in the future, however it would be best for them to get a Venezuelan passport to speed up the process.

People are less likely to run or resist when their kids are there. I knew a guy who had two strikes who said if he got arrested he would not go back to jail. He got third strike for selling cocaine and had kids at home so he went peacefully. Guy had a lot of guns.

I'm still waiting to get legal

Year 31 and counting...

Most people take their citizenship for granted

Try having to deal with having no way to prove to anyone who you really are
Have no access to anything
Pay taxes but receive nothing in return
"Under the table" jobs
Healthcare at the mercy of goodwill

Still can't drive, vote, he'll have access to basic fundamental needs
Recovering from a huge health crisis that I will be dibilitated for the forseeable future due to no access to Rehabilitation
Everything out of pocket
Mind you it was spinal surgery and 1.5 year bed ridden...

It's also to create hysteria in the community
It's almost PR for them

We'll get you
There's a reason they did it in this fashion, to add fear

They rounded up people as they were coming off the #7!train here in Queens
Got everyone shook

Democracy Now had a conversación with her dsughter and an inmigración attorney.

http://www.democracynow.org/2017/3/6/meet_jocelyn_avelica_whose_dad_was
Link has the video and full transcription.

AMY GOODMAN: The family says he was less than two blocks away from the school at the time of the arrest.
Immigration attorneys and advocates fear the arrest signals a shift in ICE’s long-standing policy against conducting enforcement activities at so-called "sensitive locations" like schools, churches, and hospitals. Avelica-Gonzalez’s arrest comes amidst growing fears of mass deportations under President Trump. For more, we’re going to Los Angeles where we are joined by two guests. Jocelyn Avelica is the daughter of Romulo Avelica-Gonzalez. He was detained by ICE agents when dropping off Jocelyn’s sister, 13-year-old Fatima, at the school. And Emi MacLean is with us, an immigration attorney for National Day Laborer Organizing Network, who is assisting the Avelica-Gonzalez family. We welcome you both to Democracy Now! Jocelyn, can you tell us what happened when your parents were taking your sister to school? Describe the scene, and then we’re going to play a clip of the video that was taken from the car.
