My favorite SEGA console is the Game Gear ;)

Especially nowadays with the improved screen, you can enjoy the library of excellent games. A lot of great Japanese games have been fan-translated as well.

I need to get a GG before people start to catch on.

You can always emulate it and try some games before investing in a retro hardware.
Oh yeah, but emulation is not as good as having OG hardware, especially with handhelds.

Edit - DuckStation might be the exception.

My ranking

1. MegaDrive
2. Dreamcast
3. Master System
4. Saturn

Many Americans here won't understand how great the Master System was in Europe, it enjoyed a long life and had many great MegaDrive ports.

Can't decide between Mega Drive and Saturn.

Mega Drive had Streets of Rage 2, Shining Force II, Phantasy Star IV and Contra: Hard Corps.
Saturn had Elevator Action Returns, Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Saga and Sakura Wars.

MegaDrive had 4 excellent Sonic games.

Saturn had none.

Dreamcast for me. At one point, I thought the Saturn might overtake it (I got into Saturn and shmups way after the Dreamcast's lifespan), but that didn't end up sticking. Dreamcast had a huge variety of games that have aged remarkably well. The biggest thing for me, though, is that you can argue that the overwhelming majority of those games - even if they got ported - are still best on the Dreamcast for one reason or another. Arcade ports would frequently have a lot of extra content when they came to the Dreamcast. PS2/360/whatever ports tended to screw up visual effects or lighting or just felt off compared to the DC original. So despite developers' best efforts, it remains a system with a ton of games that you totally should be playing on there.

Big fan.

A portable GameGear in 1990.

If not for the battery life it could have been a huge hit.

Much preferred it to the piece of shit GameBoy (though I liked Color)

Feels like déjà vu, but... Genesis.
It is strange to have Sega Genesis, Sega CD, and Sega 32x as separate entities considering they form the one and only TOWER OF POWER!!!

The base console is still home to many amazing games.

So many memories after memories, battles going down with mortal kombat, hanging out playing sonic but also lesser games like pitfall and zombie ate my neighbors, turtles in time deserve respect.

The Sega Saturn! Lots of cool games:

Panzer Dragoon
Shining Force III
Shining The Holy Ark
Grandia
Virtua Cop
The House of the Dead
Sega Rally
Radiant Silvergun
Guardian Heroes

I prefer the Saturn, although I have to admit I still have a lot of games pending on the Mega Drive, and I never owned a Dreamcast.

I loved my Sega Genesis, along with the 32X and Sega CD, but my favorite was the Dreamcast by far, especially because of the almost perfect arcade ports you could play at home.
