That ship has sailedI'm open for different kinds of Star Wars movies. I just hope they make a good movie.
I'm at a loss now a multi billion dolla company can constantly make the same mistakes over and over, do they not understand their core audience and the shit Marvel gets for this type of shit?? This film will have nothing but negative abuse all the way up until the first trailer drops and if it sucks...well...They learn nothing, do they?
Typical corporate bait and switch. "Do as I say, not as I do".Remember this thread? hahaDisney is reportedly learning from their misses and will try to focus on quality over quantity.
Bob Iger and top execs stressed a commitment to quality over quantity as the studio’s film slate has had a bumpy ride Bergman, as Iger did today and has in recent months, acknowledged a year of misfires with the latest, Wish following The Marvels, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny...www.neogaf.com
Probably not the best person to hire for a new Star Wars movie in the current climate. In the clip she’s speaking generally. And her career up to this point has been aligned with women’s rights issues in Pakistan, tackling issues like honor killings, where men should in fact be made to feel uncomfortable and confront their moral failures.
But it’s not something Western men generally need lecturing about, since we’re on the same page already.
That clip wasn't about Star Wars, it was from a public interview session held during the Women in the World Summit in New York City on April 2, 2015.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy then was only known as a documentary maker, she'd received an Oscar for "Saving Face", a documentary about acid attacks on women in Pakistan. From that Pakistani perspective it absolutely makes sense that she stands up for women's rights in that country, that she wants to make (Pakistani) men uncomfortable, that those Pakistani men need to change their attitudes about women, etc. Pakistan is a god awful place for women, it is "the third most dangerous country in the world for women due to the abysmally high prevalence of violence, rape, and honor killings."
Acid Attacks: Pakistan’s Worst Social Epidemic
Raheela Raheem was 16 years old when she was attacked with acid by a man from her neighborhood in Karachi, Pakistan. On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest holiday in the Muslim calendar, she had just...pulitzercenter.org
Women would say they have been made uncomfortable since Eden...now imagine if a man would say that about women...
Should have left the damn apple where it was.Women would say they have been made uncomfortable since Eden...
I'm just really confused as to why Disney just won't give Star Wars fans new content that appeals to Star Wars fans. How many political activists did Disney hire to get this way? Why is there an obsession with spreading 'the message' instead of creating content to make money off their fanbase?
Ehh, give her 6 months in what ought to be a western utopia from her POV and she will be bitching about "male privilege" when men hold open the door for her and "microaggressions" when men DON'T hold open the door for her. If she has an activist lens then she will ALWAYS have an activist lens.In the clip she’s speaking generally.
