Holy crap, I just started the Yuffie DLC in Remake and I had no idea Fort Condor was in this expansion before Rebirth - and watching Yuffie's gameplay feels like this DLC was indeed made while Rebirth was being developed, a sort of stepping stone between Remake and Rebirth.
Are Cait Sith and Red XIII in Rebirth also 'advanced' in gameplay, like Yuffie is? It feels like Cloud, Tifa and Barret are Street Fighter 2 characters, while Yuffie is from Street Fighter 5 or something. Her gameplay is a LOT more expansive compared to Cloud's.
That's amazing - can't wait for Friday! All the characters get major overhauls for the 2nd game. Aerial combat is a thing, dodge now works as an actual dodge and is much faster, snappy and just overall makes sense. You can now also parry by timing you guard.
Yuffie is still REALLY fun to play as in Rebirth and gets even more stuff, but everyone else also gets a BIG upgrade from Remake.
You're in for a treat! There are way too many improvements to the combat to mention, really. That's amazing - can't wait for Friday!
Wait - the game doesn't tell you about their abilities and combo patterns? You're in for a treat! There are way too many improvements to the combat to mention, really.
And just one thing to keep in mind, normal attacks may seem random at first, but they're not:
If you dodge with Cloud and then attack, he'll start using sonic booms to hit enemies from afar.
If you start attacking and you're aimed at an enemy, even if they are far away, you can hold square to rush in a gap closer to the enemy, even if they are in the air. From there you can combo normally.
There's a lot of stuff like that depending on how you're using your buttons and skills, so try to figure it out and have fun Overall there's a lot more depth to the combat this time around.
If I remember correctly, they'll tell you about most of it.Wait - the game doesn't tell you about their abilities and combo patterns?
The game has VR tutorial battles for each individual character in which it explains their basic movement. You can also use it to experiment with later on as they unlock more.Wait - the game doesn't tell you about their abilities and combo patterns?
I should've waited as my 4090 would've loved to eat this game up, but I gotta say that the platinum for this game took 1 year of my life away soooo...good on the pc version but the game can fuck right off until the 3rd installment
Oh yea absolutely , but the final chadley trophies were just brutal.. Think it was 186 hours for the plat. I wish those gauntlet challenges had checkpoints or something but outside of those it was an amazing game.Did you enjoy it?
It's exactly the kind of thing I'm craving right now, and having it included in this game is going to make me so incredibly happyThink it was 186 hours for the plat. I wish those gauntlet challenges had checkpoints or something but outside of those it was an amazing game.
Goodluck, those challenges were just damn lol like I Said took a year of my life away at least. It's exactly the kind of thing I'm craving right now, and having it included in this game is going to make me so incredibly happy
Still the Switch 2 ports to come for these games which can do quite well. It's been sitting in the top 20 of the global Steam charts for most of the past 6 weeks since it's announcement, and now it's top 1 (sans the F2P titles and Steam Deck).
Pre-orders for this game are far exceeding the likes of FFXVI and God of War ports from last year, and it's also out-performing games like Metaphor, Persona 3 and Infinite Wealth in relative week-to-week positions in the charts prior to it's release.
If this is a decent PC port and continues with good word of mouth, it'll probably do pretty well sales wise on the PC. Weird how they didn't extend the Steam special offer of 30% for another couple of weeks to bring it in line with the EGS offer.
If you play on ultra? Maybe! Will the textures of the pc version surpass ps2 levels? We'll see tomorrow
