FFVII: Advent Children...When the hell is the NA release?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is a little more than sick of waiting for Advent Children to come out here in the States. First I heard a release date of November 29th, and it never came. Then just the other day, someone I spoke to claimed a Best Buy in Arizona said it was out, they were just sold out. And today I decided to look it up on the computers at Best Buy (I have a part-time gig there) and it listed an April '06 release.

Does anyone here know anything regarding this movie's North American release? Inquiring minds want to know. :)
 
Gamestop says March 28. EB doesn't even list it. Amazon says January 1, 2010.

Short answer: whenever they feel like.
 
No clue when it's due out but with Square's recent history (last 3 years or so) i wouldn't hold my breath. That being said, i do hope they do this right when it is finally released, was a hell of a movie. Can't believe there are still people out there that want to see this that haven't picked up one of the fansubs.
 
It's still not out in the states? And to think everyone else is already sick of it. Complete and utter garbage.

Not even worth the bandwidth to pirate it, if the wait is tempting you.
 
I'm fairly snobby/pretentious when it comes to movies, and AC rocked my world.

It isn't as if you are watching it for a deep, engrossing story. You are watching it for insane action, which there is plenty of. Very entertaining.
 
On the flipside, I saw it and wanted my two hours back. I went in there not expecting anything other than pretty graphics. I was impressed with the modeling of the hair of the characters. But after the initial wow factor, it no longer seems special. (But it is.)

The story? Garbage.
The action? Uh. I don't know why the previous poster praised this. It was like Square fast-forwarded the action sequences so as to reduce the number of frames they had to animate. The action is extremely choppy, and as a friend described, only a vehicle to get from pose-to-pose.

You're better off not seeing Advent Children.
 
I'm a huge FFVII fan.

I watched the movie, loved it the first time.

Watched it the second time and realized that the movie wasn't really that good. Only thing that made me like it was the fact it was FFVII based.

Watched it the third time and hated the fact they released this as it really ruins what the ending was about in FFVII (bite me nay-sayers!).

I really want to see it and I refuse to watch any fansub... I want perfect picture quality and dead-on translation.

Lol go fuck yourself. To me, AC was nothing more than an hour and a half cutscene. In that regard yes it was hell of a movie and yes i am looking forward to buying it if it's released right. If you or anyone else expected anything more than eyecandy you should be checking for that lower than 60 IQ level yourself.
 
I quite enjoyed AC, and disagree that isn't quality, and my IQ is well above 60. Why is that folks? Is it because I didn't expect it to be the end all be all work of moving pictures ever to grace mankind? Or that I don't get off slamming something without any real reason because I think it might irk others?

Hmm... so many questions.

Your not missing much. It makes Sprits Within look like Citizen Kane in comparison.
