No because the core moment to moment gameplay is so bad.

I want to control my character, not point and click around and suggest to them that they do things.

I think they have only come out on Vita in NA. I''ve played them in Japan in the arcade. 2v2 seems it might be fun for the long haul. But I didn't put alot of time into it of course.

I personally don't like playing team games for the most part. I want all failure and success to be just on me. I don't want to bring my team down or others bringing me down. I don't get that high from a coordinated team play. I even played team sports in HS, lol.

It's one of the things I miss the most; playing a team sport. Instead of thinking your weaknesses think about your strengths and what they bring in the role you play.

I would love to play a 2 vs 2 gundam game. Even vs a computer with a friend sounds fun.

Jumped into Fightcade for the first time tonight. I really like the idea of playing some of my favorite older games online but the atmosphere is just fucking toxic. Will stick to the 360/PS3 port of Third Strike for now.

What's wrong with Fightcade? I was thinking about trying it out for some Darkstalkers online play.

Should have been with us a few years ago. Those were good times.

The service itself is great, the netcode is impressive and its easy to jump into a game, The public chat in the Third Strike Room is just a bit of a clusterfuck and kind of slimy. I'd imagine its probably better with smaller games on the service that have a more tight knit community. The three dudes playing Windjammers are probably chill as hell.

It's always the same dorks shitting up that chat 24/7. Just ignore it and it's pretty alright. There's some netplay killers but there's also a good number of newbies.

I'll keep that in mind, I know I'm super late passing I am really having fun with the service, it's great to be able to play these old KoF's in particular.

Is this really a deal breaker for people? I find dubs even in anime kinda awful, and just read the goddamn subtitles.

For a niche game it's a huge outlay, I think they did the right thing in leaving out english dubs.
Was a big disappointment for me in Xrd R but it wasn't going to stop me from getting the game, though I can totally see this being the breaking point for someone who's not a huge fan or was already on the fence.

because this has had dubs for every single game since it was introduced in the west. Because I dont play any video games or watch any anime unless it has english acting cuz I hate japanese voice work. So yea its a deal breaker, and unlike games that are just releasing for the first time its also infuriating since this series has a long history of english acting.

dota is a slow burn, it's more about maintaining consistent focus for a long period of time and having good awareness for things that aren't on your screen. Even RTS games have more in common with fighters.

And if you thought the FGC was toxic, mobas are in a different tier entirely

do you guys gravitate toward to a certain characters types when picking mains? I notice I always pick the mobile characters with mix-ups. It usually falls under the ninja types.

Day 1 pick Grappler because command grabs are OP

Day 2-3 Pick a balanced character that has some different types of moves from traditional shotoclones but still has a good throw game

Day 4 Remember I don't play games

I gravitate towards big bodies. I also gravitate towards grapplers, and the two tend to go together.

Aside from that, I also pick characters with low execution, because I don't play nearly as much as I used to. Example of that is I used to play Hakan in SF4, now I play Birdie in SF5.

I enjoy characters with non-random gimmicks a lot. Characters that play unorthodox and with their own set of rules. They help cover for me being a bad player with matchup inexperience :p

eh... mine is ussually visual. Characters I think I look cool.

For as far as gameplay goes...

in 2d charge characters. One because they are easier than motion, and there are a certain set of individuals who for whatever reason don't think that and refuse to play these characters. So you run into people who functionally don't understand what is happening.

As for 3d ussually characters who can power through stuff, but not grapplers. And characters who capitalize on the opponent messing up.

there's a moba r/kappa?

r/kappa is unique because only the FGC feels like it's necessary to distinguish between the trolls and the "real" community. r/kappa has probably done more good (or least harm) for the FGC than r/dota2 or god forbid r/starcraft ever did for their games.

I usually gravitate towards speedy characters with cool mix up potential. Sometimes command grab characters if they aren't super slow or have a nice balanced moveset.

Anti-infinite tech?

Imagine if the infinites in that Fist of the North Star fighter restored people's health instead.

EDIT: I also like the idea that the devs thought "Well, we can't totally eliminate infinites, so we'll just make them heal instead."

I'm leaning more on the side of the scaling eventually wrapped around on itself until it started granting health.

I cannot play characters with slow walk-speed and I want to be able to pressure well. I like to see my opponents panic.

Pick the hottest chick, realize I hate the way girl characters play in most fighters and switch to someone else. VF Vanessa was the rare exception that I stuck with. So badass.

The entire series until now has been dubbed, and BB has massive story modes with hours upon hours of dialogue, and some of the dub VAs are really good at their roles to the point that it's hard to imagine anyone else doing them.

So yeah, it's kind of a big deal.

Also, a lot of the VAs are fans too, so them being kicked to the curb was a slap in the face to them on multiple levels.
