Fighting game pro Punk says PS5 problems are to blame for his Evo Japan loss

Imagine how hot and stinky and sweaty it must be packed in with all that humanity an several abused PS5s with no AC in May.

Here's a tip. Care for your hardware just a small amount and it will not melt, it will not malfunction, just treat it well not like a hot sticky fuck chair with 20 asses in it, against a wall, inside a display case in a cabinet in fucking hot ass summer.

When you abuse a console don't be surprised when it malfunctions.

Also, my brother use to blame him controller when he was a child too.

A friend of mine had the headset dongle melt while plugged on the back port of the ps5. so yeah, the console blows lot of hot air behind, so make sure that it has clearance in the back.

They definitely did not design the exhaust with dongles in mind.

I have the headset dongle on the front ports, but my buddy said that the one on the back was "better" according to some youtube video hahaha

Depends on the model and which port. I think for controllers and such, it doesn't really matter. I do wish the slim and Pro models had USB-A on the front as well as C.

I don't get it Don, I keep reading stuff like this but...surely the air that gets blown from the vents isn't 100° Celsius ? 😁
I mean, even if you have the PS5 stored in an enclosed space, the temps still shouldn't reach the 100° mark ffs...

Making dongles overheat ? probably, but "melt" ? 🤔

as someone who uses an HDMI to DP converter on my secondary consoles which are connected to my PC monitor,
I had to buy a new converter because the PS5 basically roasted my first one.

the first one had the hardware that does the conversion right at the HDMI connector... now I have one by the same company that has the hardware like 10cm down the cable, which I placed at a save distance from the PS5 lol.

the back of the PS5 gets insanely hot. which makes sense given how much power that thing draws. I almost burned myself touching the adapter after I tried troubleshooting when the screen just went black. that thing was roasting hot
It is a while since I've had to access the rear ports on my PS5 - which lives in a tight cabinet with just enough ventilation - but I seem to recall all USB ports on the PS5 have their own limiting specs - speed and power draw - but is it possible you are exceeding the specs - with 3rd party peripherals that could do that leading to higher power draw from the PSU than intended - resulting in worse exhaust thermals for the PSU that melt the peripherals at the rear?

The constant heat made it so that when my buddy removed the dongle, the thing separated. Might have melt the plastic enough to lose it's shape and separate.

Oh yeah, the back ones are blue, but I don't think it's required for the headsets. They still work if plugged in the front.
