Good to see Nerd Josh dick riding teams to 2nd place at a big two...after how many months.

Some things never change.

Real Morrigan vs Fake Morrigan basically. NerdJosh's Morrigan is a "relic", while ChrisG actually has a solid Morrigan.

I'm not mad guys.

Team dick riding is a legit skill in Marvel. And, last time I seen someone dick ride teams into the sunset as good as Nerd Josh was when Little Kimmy entered the Dallas cowboys locker room back in 2001.

So I just tuned in to watch some SF4 on WNF, the chat keeps going on about how P4A is dying or dead. What's up with that? Have the numbers been dwindling or something?

Big Two numbers were down a bit, but it is hard to tell since Summerjam is this weekend and people might be traveling/preparing.

Yea, even though I'm not a fan of James I can't stand these guys they have on now days.
Agreed. The only good commentators on the West Coast are Combofiend, Mike Ross, Fanatiq (when he's not being annoying), UltraDavid and Tasty Steve (on a blue moon or rarer).

Chat is talking about it cause AJ said they moved P4A to Thursday because KoF players wanted it on that day too (lots of crossover I'm guessing) and they're also curious if it will have any longevity. WNF (as we've all come to see now) is where they debut new games and test the waters first it seems.

There was a pretty big drop at WNF from week 1 to week 2. Did they say how many people entered this week?

I heard the stream numbers were also pretty low when P4 was on stream and then jumped significantly when SF4 came on. So not just the players, but the game isn't getting a high viewer count, at least at WNF? Not sure what to make of that.

Wnf got 30, last week was around the same. TSB this sunday got 44 at next level, people are saving for summer jam so big 2 was a big drop (17 I think) hence people going full retard.

WNF doesn't get the viewers it used to in general, and last week there were a lot of top players in the tourney. Not sure about entries though.

A lot of viewers for p4 at big two today though.

People are saving stuff this early in the games life? Doubt it.

Also I think Big Two's turnout must have just been poor altogether this week. Actually I didn't watch most of the stream but that's how I'm rationalizing NerdJosh in Grand Finals for Marvel.

Seriously though, Big Two attendance fluctuates a lot. Some don't go if it rains, etc.

Viewer count was strong at Big 2 ~6.5k and there is still a good turn out at WNF almost equal to SF4.

Remember in the long run, the measure for success for P4A can never be SF4 or marvel numbers. It is just unrealistic. For now I think it is doing pretty good.

I also enjoyed watching it at Big Two. It seems match-ups like Chie vs Mitsuru will be quite entertaining. I like the fact that it moves so fast. If you get a match up or player you don't particularly want to watch, it is over pretty quickly.

Big Two had MastaCJ and MarlinPie. No Noel Brown though.

Saving money to go to summer jam not saving tech. A lot of the anime players are poverty.

Don't forget SmokeMaxx's ARK V is also this weekend. It's too bad his tournament is on the same day as Summer Jam. But I'm sure Smoke and his staff are going to put together a great tournament.

You seem to take stream chat trolls a tad too seriously.

I ignore it most of the time, it just caught my eye because I haven't been paying attention to Persona or streams lately and was curious if the numbers were dropping, not that I believed it's actually dead.

P4A has 30~ entrants, same as SF4 at WNF

Big2 P4A numbers dropped but I'm sure its all for summer jam. A bunch of anime heads were talking about it last night on arturo's stream.

P4A was 17 at Next Level.

Yeah, numbers are stabilizing. What do you expect? Tournament entry numbers are always going to be inflated when a new game has just come out.

The Stickbug tournament got 45 entrants for Persona 4 Arena, which is more than they've ever gotten combined for all their previous games, I believe.
I think for Big Two at least, the lower numbers are a result of that and Summer Jam coming up.
For Wednesday Night Fights, Revelations had 48 entrants, and that's with a bunch of the top players who initially were for the event not showing up (though it did have a bunch of Capcom people in it).

But anyways, it's still too early to tell whether it'll be a success or not.
Still, those week 1 numbers at Super Arcade were pretty ridiculous.
