making fun of chris g's girlfriend is some pretty low shit. if you don't like chris g then insult him and not his girlfriend as she has nothing to do with his play style.

Haven't people been making fun of Chris G's girlfriend for a really long time now? I agree that a lot of people are being dicks towards Chris G (and I think people online have been dicks to Chris G, among other people, for a while) but some of this smells like, "It's okay when I (or people I like) do it, but it's not okay when people who I don't like do it." I really hope everyone just backs off, because even if Chris G might make excuses for losing sometimes, I don't see why other people should make a big deal out of it.

Edit: Also, I want people to back off of Chris G so people will stop talking about it on Twitter/streams/forums. I liked everything better when everyone was saying, "OH MY GOD P4U IS SO FUN."
Even though I've always been more hyped for UNIB.

I don't know about the girlfriend stuff, but that aside I think it is pretty much all in good fun. I love to see justin, chris g and champ lose and will make up little reasons to dislike them more.

But at the end of the day I don't know any of these guys, live on the other side of the world and accept it is just video games anyway.

Even all the anime stuff is a bit of a laugh when you look at it.

I am of the opinion that Doom is the best anchor in the game after seeing F Champ play him so much. All the F Champ hate seem to have clouded people's eyes and made them miss how ridiculously good his Doom is and how many comebacks he has made with Doom, without assists or X Factor. When people talk about best anchors they always talk only about how dangerous the characters are with lvl 3 X Factor, but never consider how good they are without lvl 3 X Factor. And Doom is one of the best characters in the game at making comebacks without X Factor.

Saying Doom is the best anchor in the game is insane. He's decent, but not even top 5. Don't conflate Champ's skill with Doom's anchor viability. Justin Wong won a major with Iron Fist- that doesn't mean IF is good.

You damn well know most people aren't doing that shit. I think we all know that the standard is MM Foot Dive, Foot Dive x 3 followed by beam into fingers. There's only a few dooms that I see do the 4 loop version consistently.

Doom can do a pretty easy full screen corner carry combo that does around 800k with the plasma beam OTG into finger laser ender (and an assist extension at the very end, like using strider assist to fit in a second plasma beam) and as long as you have a respectable DHC for your next character, any Doom combo can end up breaking a million assuming you start with at least half of a meter. Also, the standard easy Doom corner loop is four reps off of normal confirms.

Doom is a better anchor than he's given credit for. Then again, "bad" anchors do incredibly well in UMVC3.

Doom is a top four character. Best assist selection in the game. Works on any position on a team. Amazing synergy with every other top tier.

Sentinel is by far the best anchor.

Pretty sure he weighs the most and could still just hang onto rocks once on the bottom.

I don't even know where the topic came from. I think I've seen stream monsters making fun of her once, but I can't recall that ever happening on gaf. It's some low shit if people here have been acting up like that.

It's happened before but WAY back. Primarily just a stream monster thing.

Plus it's not like she's been on stream anywhere in a long ass time that I can recall.
 
Lol @ Doom best anchor.

FChamp elevates the point status of the character due to his tremendous skill. He is not even top 10 anchor in the game.
 
He's still the best #2 though. If Dante had a more practical TAC infinite/combo then he would be the best #2.

Dooms package of safe DHC, top assist selection and wide variety of TAC combos + infinite makes him the best character in that rare slot. If Iron Man had a safe DHC then he would be almost as good as Doom in that spot, same for Dr Strange. Right now Sentinel and Dante are the next best in 2nd character slot with Sentinel having all the plus points except being good enough on point to occupy the 2nd slot.
 
The thing is, you guys are saying Doom is not top 4 as an individual character or just an anchor.

You have to remember that this a 3v3 game, and as such, I don't think there's many characters that can do a better job than Doom when it comes to being a support, point AND anchor character.

There are really only 3-4 characters in the game that have top assist/support and top point capability. Dante, Strider, Magneto and Doom. I consider all of these top tier characters but as far as being anchors go Doom is the weakest of these 4. Out of these only Magneto has top 3 point capacity rivaling that of Viper, Vergil and Zero.

On paper Phoenix has a top assist with top support/ point capability but calling her as an assist means you will die to a single stray projectile.

That's what mvc2 technically was. They just ported a bunch of sprites/previously made characters onto an engine, and hoped it worked out. Even Seth Killian said something similar to that.

They decided to "go crazy" and add everyone from the VS. Marvel series into one package.

...and it did work out. For ten damn years.

You want broken? Shit was the DEFINITION of broken.

I remember wasting dozens of hours on creating my own "balanced" MUGEN setup (centered around Capcom characters) and copying the executable and character/stage/music files on two CDs and passing it around high school. Shit was hella hype on lunch time.

You know what? Imma go check and see how my old FG stomping grounds are right now. Mugen Infantry. WUT UP, MOTHERFUCKERS.

I remember mugen for blowing up with the infinite hilariously busted Omega Zero incarnations. Some of that shit made me believe that character was destined to be dumb as fuck in an actual fighter. Fast forward to my experience with MVC3 and that is also post TVC...
