Fighting Games Weekly | June 17-23 | Nintendoes what Capcan't

this game has had a bunch of sales since it came out so i'm not surprised. you're doing it wrong if you paid full price.

>_>...i thought it was going to have a long story like mortal kombat.

random thought

hulks gamma wave into gamme tsunami should have a faster start up.

Ignite tonight? Or the tournament this weekend? Assuming you're not busy moving four states over, that is.
I won't be going tonight - too much stuff to do around the house and I don't have a car (my wife and I share one, and she's in Michigan). What's up with the tournament this weekend? Send me the details; I'm interested. I'm moving on the 30th of June. I'll come on the 24th for one last evening if I can't come this weekend.

LOL, because I mentioned how many panty shots it has?
I wanted to see what the upper limit was. Dude, I haven't seen a single 2000s anime that pushes such a volume of the stuff. I feel dirty and soap isn't helping. If I finish this show it'll be because I spaced each episode out by six months.

The quality is outside of that is great, though. Animations, shadows and detail are very nice. I really have to sink my teeth into that era of anime. I bet I'm missing a lot of real classics.

Also, it's not on the schedule, but they will hold a Skullgirls tournament as well starting at 6:30 pm.

During one summer I marathoned through Rin Daughters of Mnenosyme because it was on netflix. If you needed a shower for agent aika, you're gonna need that elephant hose from seinfeld for this. I thought the plot was original though....

I've seen the front image a few times on netflix, but it didn't fetch my interest at all.
MODOK is definitely not a low damage character at all.

And how can you not like his combos? Lol
Maybe some people don't like combos because they can't do them. Maybe that is his case. I love watching Morrigan do her thing, but I can't do those combos on the regular.

That's my issue with the majority of the cast. I've spent exponentially more time in training mode trying to learn how to use characters than I have actually playing against other people. And I can just forget about nailing anything other than BnBs consistently for the first 2-3 days after I pick up a character, though. But sometimes a character works out when you put some time into learning them.

On a similar note, sometimes it feels like playing other games helps me wrap my head around some of the stuff that I'm not familiar with. For instance, I got a little more comfortable with links in general after putting some time into KOF XIII, and after I got the hang of Painwheel in Skullgirls, I actually get how fly-unfly combos work.

Yeah I don't like doing them. They're not herp derp enough for me and they take so long to do. So much work + increased unreliability = bleh. I don't have the time to practice those combos.

Then why are you using Iron Man? MODOK's solo BnB probably takes less effort and time than an Iron Man BnB.
Did you read my last post? Iron Man's most basic BnBs can net me 6-700k. MODOK just feels weird, and so do his combos, and they definitely take more practice and timing that Iron Man's most basic fly combo.

Plus Iron Man is a much cooler character, duh. I play for character design first, playstyle second, ease of use third.

Should've said this first before coming up with half assed excuses. MODOK has easy 600k-700k combos and there is no flight mode required in any of his combos.

No excuses. I stand by the rest of it and none of it contradicts what I said before. His combos are weird, take long and are more unreliable (IM just have shittier confirms though), and I still find the easiest flight combo for IM easier than MODOK's combos. You don't even need a flight combo for IM to net you 725k, a basic relaunch into basic air combo and super will get you that. Much easier, faster damage.

That's not a BnB though. BnBs are supposed to be reliable, that combo isn't reliable.

Good stuff with this event! You should have bonuses up for grabs for participants in this exhibition like what the UFC does. Something like $100 for fight of the night, combo of the night, comeback of the night, ect.

I had similar ideas actually :). Saving all the other stuff for the night of the show.

Who is Kenny supposed to be a parody of?

Edit NM read the chat

Kenny, a Kickstarter backed character. Kenny was the backer's brother who sadly passed away early and was a huge fighting game fan. Kenny is the Mokujin of the game where he mimics a different character's dive and kick every round (though there is also an actual random select in the game). His special ability is Spirit Bullet which when hits, very briefly freezes your opponent but the screen around the opponent blacks out.
