Sucks. I was just thinking Sanford turned the corner by embracing genuine humility and was about to embark on a journey of rediscovery. I felt his pride was truly what was holding him back as a player. Looks like it's going to completely cripple him.

Sanford could learn a lot from Arturo.
 
Don't you think you guys are jumping to conclusions about the Sanford missing out on a league thing? Or did he elaborated as to why?
 
It's too bad Art doesn't pick better characters.

Though really I should say it's too bad Capcom lets such shitty characters exist in the game.

This. It seemed like he was kinda turning it around, but lately he's been getting wrecked, and it's hard to feel bad for him after all the shit he talked, the way he acts both IRL (ex. stick incident) and on Twitter etc. I don't think he really necessarily deserves all the shit he's getting at the moment, but in a way he's kind of asking for it.

I'd really really like for him to get out of EMP, wake the fuck up and get his shit together. The guy has crazy potential that I feel like he's been wasting for years.
 
I thought Sanford said he was dropping Sagat. I think he is getting to predictable because you can tell when he wants to DP especially if he got meter.

It's very possible - even likely - people are jumping to conclusions. It's just hard not to correlate his loss last night to his quitting TKONY given the history of his behavior:

Then you are going to be running into character duplicates and teams with Galactus on them online. The duplicate teams aren't that bad but right now it's uncertain how good Galactus is. At the very least Galactus is a whole new brand of unfun to play against as he ignores various system mechanics (like his meter moves not actually costing meter).

Yeah I guess but even then that is being seen as a rage quit and not as "man I suck. lemme take a break from games for a second and figure shit out."

He has the option to not pick the shitty characters, but he does do well with them . Plus Rose is a lot better now so that's good for him. I believe art said his execution isn't great so that's why he sticks with characters that require good spacing and reads to win instead of doing massive damage off one frame links.

He can't block but he has hyper armor and he has tons of health (like over 3 million or something).

More importantly he has an instant full screen move that one shots you thanks to THC mechanics. So if you are on the offense and you commit to something you might die. He basically just needs Haggar Lariat to have the other person block so that he can recover from his slow ass moves without taking too much damage.

this freaking guy. bitches about how new york isn't hungry anymore and now that various hungry players are starting to come up he decides to quit because of his shitty ego. oh well not like they need sanford to keep improving.

Did a super hard Guilty Gear session with my friend yesterday and had to play on pad since I forgot my stick.

Now a day later my thumb is swollen as fuck, that dpad is bad business.
 
Yeah, that's something else I forgot to mention: NYC more than responded to Sanford's call and he responded like a whiney little punk.

Really displays him as the fraud he is though. He complained about New York not being hungry, team PIE stepped up to the plate, now he's being a whiny bitch because he isn't the king anymore.

A smart (humble) veteran would be proud of the current state of NY. HE has a lot to do with them stepping their game up. He should recognize it for the accomplishment that it is and use the newfound competition to make him a better player. Not being able to win a local every week doesn't mean you're necessarily passing a torch.
 
Lab Zero & Autumn Games adding $5000 to the pot of the Skullgirls Encore side tournament at EVO. Pretty cool how they're funneling proceeds from their merch sales back into the community (IIRC this isn't the first time they've done that either?).
