1. Most of you guys have NO IDEA how killing a character will cause chaos in Tekken... Most of the Tekken fanbase are casuals, but they are the ones who will shout the loudest. You guys probably didn't hear about the legion of Kaz fans, Jun and Kuni fans, and now Shin fans.
2. Competitive-wise, many people (including Aris and most chars) doesn't realize until now that TTT2, despite so similar in T6, plays COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I was reading long time ago here in this thread about TTT2 players wanting to have a 3/5 a set for people to adapt and people disagree, reasoning is in Marvel who is a more frantic game and players are adjusting more quickly. This is actually what players need to learn in this game. Rage and Life management are far more important than the small things and Tekken players need to stop being a frame nazi about stuff in a game where you can always get a chance to comeback despite being beaten for the rest of the round.
3. The complaints about movelist are bogus. You got characters like Jin, Paul, Lars and others who got pretty short movelist for people. and good movement always take you farther, even when you don't know the matchup or the player... JDCR proves that point.
4. Even if you reboot the game, it's still gonna be Tekken... There will still be Deathfist, Hopkicks, Snake Edge, Multis and other "cheap" moves that people will complain about... Reducing characters and moves would not only make the game less fun, turning the whole game into a homogenous boring game, but all the other things that people complain about will stay there... So what's the point?
And believe it or not, The Tekken Team is just basing their next game to fan feedback... You know why we don't have Scenario Campaign? Most of the Tekken community complained about it. P. Jack, Michelle and other chars came back because people are requesting for it...
Here's my longer post about it...

Yea I've been trying to get into tekken, but for me the hardest part is getting down the movements that it has. Pretty much dash canceling all the time is killing me.
Shin fans are fucking morons and I'm sure they're a tiny, vocal minority. Sorry for the strong language but I watched that Tekken movie on 3DS and it just made me so angry thinking about how shitty it was. I have no idea why people are campaigning for a character that had a sole purpose in dying by Heihachi's hand--QUICKLY at that.
Looking up VF5 stuff. Is df df a common motion? Isn't it hard to do that on pad?
Also this was a still from the video I saw

Controverdial post time.
Characters that should be removed from Tekken:
Jinpachi
I disagree with these two, they're classic Tekken characters IMO. The rest of them I would have no problem removing.Controverdial post time.
Characters that should be removed from Tekken:
Alex or Roger Jr
Angel
Fat Bob (buff Bob becomes standard)
Violet
Miharu
Unknown
One of either Mokujin or Combot (unless its a tag game in which case their existence doesn't matter much)
Panda
P.Jack
Tiger Jackson
Jinpachi
Michelle Chang
Sebastian
I am 90% sure these characters will be removed in a standard 1v1 Tekken game anyway. The only reason why any of these characters exist is so you can get away with playing two of the same characters.
If you like any of these characters then you are part of the problem!
I have no problems with df df on a Dualshock in VF5
The "Shin fan" thing always happens, and it's always some weird subset that wants the character's continued inclusion for the sake of hilarity. It's like they don't get that it's a bad joke and keep telling it. Just like the green biker from MMX...a small base of people wanted him in MvC3.I prefer fat Bob to Slim Bob personally lol, but yeah I'd be ok with them taking out the rest of your list
If anything they could make them palette swaps like they did before (Ling/Miharu, Eddy/Tiger, Kuma/Panda, Julia/Michelle, etc) to keep the fans happy
I just don't get Shin fans, that guy had like.....2 minutes of screen time?

The main reason I can't see Jinpachi coming back is because Namco didn't bring back Ogre after T3/TTT1 even though he was such a popular character (competitively) until TTT2
Hopefully they do bring him back though......and OGRE! (Ancient Ogre)
They need to keep Jaycee also, much prefer her to normal Julia
I'm fine with removing clones or better yet, making them palette swaps. But Jinpachi? naaaaaaaaah. Especially not Jinpachi. He is a very unique character not to mention very beginner friendly. It's not just a small number of people that play him. A LOT of people play him in both US and Asia. Losing him would not be good. Angel may also seem like a clone but she is quite different from the devils regardless and can be evolved into a better character in future Tekkens. She's not really that popular, though. Only seen a very small number of people use her. Kane is the only high level player coming to mind and even he's apparently quitting Tekken.
They are classic clones ie. its about time they stop taking up character slots. Panda and Alex should be nothing more skins/palette swaps for Kuma and Roger.I disagree with these two, they're classic Tekken characters IMO. The rest of them I would have no problem removing.
Ok, I agree with that then, having them as alt skins would be fine.Panda and Alex should be nothing more skins/palette swaps for Kuma and Roger.
Yeah, same thing back in Tekken 3 iirc. That's how they used to be in Tekken Tag 1. Same for Angel and Tiger.
Soul Calibur series IS popular, just not among the competitive fighting game players. Most players just don't take the series very seriously.

On Jinpachi that was a hard pick but man there are way too many Mishimas in the game already. They should just give some moves of Jinpachi to Heihachi when he goes super saiyan or something lol.
Thats wrong... Soulcalibur V gets more entries than MK9 at almost every major. SC5 still gets more entries than a lot of games. So why do people think SC5 is dead?
Because of something I've said many times... the strength of a game is not in how many people show up for majors, its how many people show up for LOCALs. Also one of the reasons why I say the FGC is dying, because even though the majors are getting bigger, all the locals are getting smaller.
SC5 doesn't have locals anymore. Also, Namco never cared as much about Soulcalibur as they do Tekken. If SC5 had the same amount of advertising that Tekken had, I think it would still be big to this day.

didn't know that, since I don't watch MK. Wonder why Sc5 didn't make the Evo cut. Any inside info?
The same could be said for any game.MK was surviving very well in pockets such as Chicago/Philly. MK also did well at NEC, which probably was the tiebreaker. I don't think it was any illuminati conspiracy.
It was the wrong choice in hindsight. I think SC5 would be stronger now if it was an Evo game instead of MK.

I've had it on since I woke up.

He might share their blood and fondness for headbutts but he doesn't really play like a Mishima.
Also did I mention he's awesome?
