Fighting Tournament Weekend: Final Round XIX: Friends Among U.S.

Dive kick blows that up easy.

Do you have any idea just how many tournaments he has won this way(which includes Capcom Cup)?
It's a whole new game. Any punish in this game might easily end up in a 50% plus damage. This kind of play won't fare well, but let's wait and see.

He did a few times, then Kaz started to do random dive kicks to oblivion, I don't know if lk beats it.

It beats it if they meet at the same time. But the purpose of the dive kick in this game is to slow down her descent and mess up anti air normal timing. Normals like Chun's st. lk gets blown up even easier because it doesn't have much active frames.

With Ryu I've been using aerial lk tatsu to mess up the anti air timing for Chun's st.lk. Honestly I think she can still recover in time to block it. But these guys aren't use to a Ryu doing that yet and they might be too thirsty for that dash under to be holding back.

I'm pretty sure you can anti-air cannon spikes with it.

You can, if you have the timing down but if you're off then blam, you'll eat the Cannon Strike. Kazunoko knows how to play with someone's expectations of when it's coming to prevent the AA.

Bas loves that game lol

I always thought Bas started Alpha 3 in 1999 or 2000, but I found a tournament result from 1998 (before the national tournament).

You can see Daigo getting 1st, Nuki 2nd, and Katokichi in 3rd. Bas finished tied in 5th with 3 other players. Katokichi is that guy that Nuki always referenced as either the best talent in Japan or the best talent after himself until he went up against Daigo. Wonder how good he would be if he didn't stop playing fighting games.

Delayed air cannon spike. Not a good trade for Chun if trades.

Oh yeah the delayed spike can mess you up. I've really had enough of Kazunoko and his divekicking ways.

That Mika was depressing. The amount of dropped combos and missed potential reminded me of me. I think Karin is really tough for Mika though if my own matches against our own mnz and other Karins are any indication.

Interesting! Katokichi, I think I've heard his name before in other games. What other SF games did he play?

I don't think he went for a single rope throw. Not a lot of spaced c.hp either.

Yeah and he had a perfect setup with a j.hk but he went for a target combo and didn't even finish that... too bad.

This Mika is fucking shit. Just don't have Boeken play next round, as if it mattered.

Seriously, it's like I'm watching one of my own replays lol. How'd they get up there?

They always trot out this Mika but he's mad garbage and Kaz always has to come out and clean up afterwards. Has he won a round like once?
