Wondering what might be the best gear setup for Aileen.
Since she doesn't seem to have innate spear mastery and since I have access to higher imperil via Ace it might be interesting to kit Aileen out with something like Olive's gun+Excalibur for dual element higher imperil chains.
It's probably not worth messing around with stuff like that if you don't have the means kit out two aileens yourself as I imagine most people will have the standard earth setup for Aileens but it might be worth making the coordinate effort another gaffer for trials like the upcoming robo one. (with lightning element switched out for fire, possibly)
Will also be cool to deck out Aileen with champion's belts, yun armor and the robo knuckle+knuckle mastery once we get those.
Can't imagine Aileen dethroning Fryevia tho -- maybe just in instances where machine killers add a lot and the boss has ice res or something.

Being Hippo he literally pulled two Zarbo back to back
On JP I didn't really have any 5* chainers and relied on Raslers for a good while, 2 raslers+Orlandu friend provided me good chains even when I just pressed repeat. There was no real need to worry about having Excaliburs either due to the chain move already having innate light element.
Never viewed him as a tank, but rather just as a very tanky chain/support unit. Absolutely loved him having curaja and esuna and the damage mitigation from cover was a nice bonus.
Also -- a seriously good TM.
Think I'm going to settle on this build with 2 30% ATK materia, L Sword Mastery and Sylvan Protection for the purpose of ELT MK.
Depending on the roll, Sacred Strike can leave Tiamat with 13k~50k HP so you could finish it off with a decently geared anything I guess! I tried Artisan but it did a lot less to Tiamat.
7.3k HP is pretty nice for a support unit geared for attack.
Right now, Aileen is very good with Yun's TM Crimson Slayer + 2 Champ Belts. He'll become a lot better when Aigaion Fist gets released via trail as you've mentioned.
Eventually, we will later get Duke's TM Dragoon's Pride which would go great with Fohlen's TM Rider's Helm (30% ak with helm + another 30% with a spear equipped). There's also "Martial Arts Secret' materia as well (+50% ATK with fist). Right now in JP, you can get Aileen to around 1150 ATK on Aileen with this setup.

I feel like an idiot - all this time I've been using a DH Fryevia build and was pretty pleased with a 910 MAG Fry. I discounted DW because I was never going to pull a second Fry so figured it'd be easier to build for DH. Only today to realize that a 700 MAG DW build outdamages it because of how hybrid damages is calculated.

No idea what most of these TMs are or if they will be available here.
I see Aigaion's Arm, Aigaion's Knuckle Mastery and Prishe's TM (the hat)
EDIT : last materia is Wind Veritas's TM (+50% ATK with Spear)

-- Rates on the bonus floor appear to be back to their usual crappy rates. BF event was too good. Thunderbug pays out 800 base currency; does not appear to be able to spawn as multiples. Definitely not cleaning Mog out of all of his giancrysts this time around.
-- I'm highly skeptical that there will be a split banner for this event. The banner dates for this banner signify two full weeks, not the usual one week when the banner is split. I suppose there's always a chance that for a split, but I don't believe there's ever been an instance where there have been two different banners for the same event running concurrently?

Hmm, so there is room for improvement there with Duke's, Gilgamesh's, Fohlen's and our own Yun's TMs. Quite impressive for our girl.

When we have our 3rd event we should be able to combine Thancred TMs(and the others) into slightly better TMs.
Yeah the rates are disappointing.. especially after the brave fontier event. Will probably end up getting the power giant crysts, tickets, equipment, quartz and the 10% moogle

What is worth grabbing from this event?
Wondering if I should just go for tickets, sacred crystals, TM moogles and some 6* mats and call it quits. Not really feeling like doing a bunch of grinding again.

I would like to propose a theory, the "Brave Exvius complaining" theory. You see, it always seems that when someone has had a bad string of gacha and is ready to quit is when they rip Fryevia on their very last ticket or something like that. Now, I didn't think there was anything to this, and in addition tried avoid complaining because nobody likes a complainer, right? Now, I've been doing my fair share of complaining lately over my lack of good damage units and the disappointment of Zarg being on a banner than I planned to pull heavily on for Ashe and Rasler. Well, I think I believe the theory now.

I experienced this today.
A lot of complaining on Discord about my recent string of bad pulls, and pulled Rasler not long ago.
Not an amazing unit by any means, but will help a lot getting event currency rather than just a team stuffed with Vaans.

, I complained a lot after failing to get Noctis last year, used all my ressources and all, even got 2 troll rainbow on the same 11 pulls (Agrias and Hope), bought the Christmas Bundle and nothing to show for it.
Finally got him at the last few daily tickets bundle.

I went through a bad string of luck during the Gilgamesh banner. Pulled nothing but trash and spent my saved up 40+ tickets and 10,000 lapis.
Bitched up a storm. A week later I got Ramza. This was my first 5*. Not a great unit at that time, still not right now, but I knew his big time potential in the future. I was happy.
Then a week later during her banner, I got Olive.
Second ever 5*. Boy was I on a roll. Got a big time finisher and a fantastic buffer unit to compliment her.
Eventually hit real bad luck again and bitching on GAF about it, as we all do. I was really unhappy with the game and knew everything I saved was about to go to shit during Orlandeau banner.
Sure enough I pull 2x Orlandeau in only 9 pulls total. 5* #3 & 4. Holy shit, I not only got units for chaining, to upgrade my Chizzy's, but I got the best I could have possibly gotten.
It works. I got a hell of a team from complaining.

I'd buy that argument. Assuming that banner stays as otherwise written, that would be a good time to interject Balthier as a replacement for Noctis. Still, that's a long two months away though for many.

Decided to use one ticket, Gold!...my second Amelia. Not bad I guess, I can grab her Apron Dress by fusing both together, and she could be a pain in the Arena.

Provoke > Rejuvenate is legit for everything that is not AoE. If you have evade TMs you just provoke and support, it's hilarious.

Gaf doesn't let gaf drink and game.
In JP they have banners that rotate every two weeks and increase chances of characters by class. I think it swaps between dps, healers, tanks, and maybe more.

I knew instantly when the free daily was a blue that it'd be a Vaan. On the bright side, this allows me to run two Vaans plus a Zabrawhatever for 200% bonus :0 will be the largest bonus I've ever had in a mog king event! Too bad I fused the other Vaans in the past, Noctis easily solos ELT so I could have went with 4 vaans if I had two more haha Well, I wouldn't be surprised if I get more from free daily pulls before this banner leaves.
Congrats to all those that snagged Zabrablahblah and Ashe! I won't dare hope for the former via a free pull but it'd be cool to get Ashe and Rasler for their TMs. On the other hand, unless a TM is absurd, I almost don't care anymore because I'm drowning in the amount of TMs I need to farm. It's too slow going when you don't spend lapis to refresh I suppose but the real killer has been the disconnects. I think after the maintenance Nox actually made it through the night last night so it's improved but when I got home from work today, it had the disconnect :| It sucks that the previous update asks you if you want to wipe data or continue. If not for that, I think the script would make it resume but these new buttons don't get hit by the script.
