No, this is the one with the guys on an airship at the beginning, originally released here as "Final Fantasy 2." I guess they figured PSP already has this game, so why not give it to GBA/DS.

Anyway, do I really need a 4th copy of FFIV? I guess so!

But that logic doesn't explain why FFIII has been getting the slap around. WSC project was canned, and most (not me) would consider putting Kawazu on FFII DS a slap to the face. Frankly, I can't wait for the news.

It's likely the conversion isn't even being handled by Square Enix themselves, and instead by Tose, who also handled ... well, pretty much every single SquareSoft port to date. That's fine, though, as they typically do a good job (barring a few PSOne ports). My only real concern is that they may dumb down the difficulty to FFI DoS levels, in which case a monkey could play through it without breaking a sweat. Here's hoping that doesn't happen... :\

For the last friggin' time, FF4 on PSone (Chronicles version) DOES NOT HAVE LOAD TIMES. It's as fast as the SNES version, sans the abnormally long save time. IT's FF5 and 6 that had the problem.

But the PSone version isn't portable.

I would rather see all the classic SNES RPG's on GBA than the DS. Either way, a DS-only owner is going to get to play them, and the SP and Micro are quite the preferable systems, comfortwise.

I'd be really surprised if the audio ends up sucking. If this was an action RPG, maybe, but FFIV just doesn't stress the hardware.

Yeah, well there's still the HORRIBLE 8BIT OUTPUT WHEN THE HARDWARE MIXES INTERNALLY AT 16BIT DAMN YOU NINTENDO. But still, FFIV doesn't really take huge advantage of the SFC/SNES soundchip anyway... so it might turn out ok... if muffled/icky sound quality.

In theory, shouldn't there be a way to add some code to detect if the game is being played on a DS... and if so, to process the sound via the DS hardware?
