Was just browsing a dark corner of the internet and a guy has managed to translate the game's text to English, presumably he just converted the PS2 files.

What a wonderful New Year's surprise, won't have to wait till March after all :D.

X-2 and Last Mission have also been translated too.

But no, nice someone cared to do this for impatient ones.

What's the goddamn point!?

Now someone needs to find a way to put the updated character models into the PS2 version.

I tried to no avail to switch Rikku's FFX-2 outfit with her FFX one, but SQENIX games were annoying in their file structure. =[

no, it won't. That's been known for a while.

Too bad. The English dub is awful and I'd rather just not understand what they're saying. No CFW PS3 though.

edit: Square's improvement in English voice acting following FFX is still incredible to me.

Ahhh shit. But from what I recall there's not much voice acting in the FMVs? I didn't finish the game though, only got up to Al Bhed.

There's really not. Someone who never played FFX before would do just fine, except for maybe the final fmv cutscene which does have some key dialogue.

hmmm.. i want this just for the japanese audio.

but i dont have CFW..

on another note.. WHY is this taking so long? i mean, march? really? it's pretty much done (this patch shows that)

I know this is a stupid question, but what is a CFW PS3? Is it one of the original fat PS3s?

Last Mission was never translated, so maybe the English text are already on the disc?

So apparently, there are already multiple fonts and translations already included on the discs, but without modification they can't be accessed. GDI

The patch was basically just a matter of renaming and swapping some files around the disc and editing some files in order to fix the timings of the subtitles.

I always thought the english voice dub was pretty good, especially auron, lulu, and kimahri.
They're voices sounded more unique in contrast to their japanese counterparts.

January isn't a good release month either.

February is XIII-3's English release.

Thus, March. Japan already had XIII-3 in November, and December is a stronger gamer month I believe. We're left waiting until March because it's the best release date in terms of schedule (except it's already a really crowded month).

I never liked how English Yuna's voice was raspy. I mean, what part of her character said raspy to Squenix? I thought Hedy Burress did just fine voicing her but the voice just never fit.

However JP Tidus >>>>>>>>>> EN Tidus

For some reason I thought this was out in mid February but apparently it is mid March? Awh man. What's another month anyway?

I finally got ffx international a couple years ago but I was never able to play it long enough to get to the extra bosses because the english dub bugged me so much. Many of the characters sound pretty decent, but Yuna is horrible. Complete destruction of character. I'll keep my original jp copy and the inability to sort weapons over some extra bosses if it means I never have to hear english Yuna again. :P

That definitely won't happen, as the PS2 version uses sequenced music(like MIDI), while the PS3 version is undoubtedly using compressed, streaming audio(like MP3). It's just impossible.

You reckon? I'm sure it'll be converted to the necessary file format and what not.

indeed, that was fast.

Absolutely. I didn't expect it to happen at all. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits. PS4 am cry.

Thanks for that. I assumed it had come from the PS2 files.

Be warned. I have shitty Australian upload speed, and the game seems to randomly glitch out.

Better than nothing haha. Hope it's not too bad.
