Man, I can't for the life of me finish this Duty, Honor, Country quest. I must've failed it about ten times by now. So frustrating.
I explored as much of everything as I could around one city at least, Limsa. I explored until I couldn't find anything to look at anymore. There was a lot of stuff to look at. Lots of pretty stuff. There's still lots of locked walls blocking off the high level content which isn't really surprising. The high level content just looks like beastman camps. It still makes me sad that they have all of these absolutely gorgeous set pieces and nothing really going on in them. Maybe stuff will happen with them, but they're probably just quest hubs or quest conclusion spots which would explain the funky map design. Nothing really surprising. Level 50 combat was a bit more stale then I imagined it. Abilities are all really boring on at least two jobs (WAR and BRD). I felt like too many abilities overlapped with each other. I didn't care to linger and fight things nor test out any of my other jobs. Could still interact good in a party setting, who knows.

Based on my current knowledge, they had planned for there to be an EU datacentre initially but that's no longer the case. I guess the EU tag helps language specific groups to form in one location, like Spanish/French/German and all the rest. On the other hand it does sort of leave English speaking EU players in a bit of hole because of the options; you can roll non-EU and play with other English speakers across the pond with no latency variation but timezones OR you roll on EU with all the different languages.
Normally it would be simple choice because you know what everyone else will pick in your situation, but here it's uncertain because you don't know what everyone else will be picking. Choices create division!

Oh well, at least I managed to beat the login prompt into submission. Downloading the PS3 client now. Would have been nice to do that beforehand, but whatevs. FINALLY!

yea i had a lot of stuff. i guess a lot of it was stashed onto retainers or something. couldn't access my retainers.
I thought the same. Then I started to take a more serious notice to it.
What it really needs is location names, especially when it concerns the ability to warp around with the aether gates.
I haven't had any real issues with it. Navigated myself to Gridania from Ul'dah pretty easily, and all the quests and venders are marked. :S
I mentioned before, but I think the most common problem with it is when you're trying to get to a point that's in another area and unless you now how to traverse from zone to zone, there's nothing obvious on the compass indicating where to go. That said, I eventually figured it out ~
About to log in. Lv 18 Lancer but might play Conjurer for a couple of levels to get Cure.

Tiny text on PS3 is really disappointing to hear. I was thinking of switching to the PS3 version from the PC version simply for a TV scaled UI.
I may pull up my old 1.0 character just to see what I have and the current cnj/thm level. Anyone know if you still start off with the lvl 1 class quests in your city or do they have you just straight to a lvl apropriate class quest?
I'd be more apt to playing through with my legacy character if I can switch starting server and be able to access all of the class quests.

Yeah I had some issues with it when I first started playing but after a few hours it became second nature. They could definitely make it more intuitive for new players though.

I had the same problem. I went to SE support for help and they gave me NA codes because they sent me EU codes. I signed up from a Kotaku link and it automatically sent me to the EU sign up. You could message them but you probably won't get a reply until tuesday because they don't help on Saturday and Sunday.

Yeah, that kinda got to me too. I wanted to start off as a BLM, but me and a buddy would have started off in two different nations, so I decided to just go with Lancer for now. I hope they change that later on.
Yeah. Each City seems to appear to have three guilds for the combat classes. Which is rather annoying. I wanted to start in Limsa Lominsa, but I had to start in Ul'dah and go to Gridaina. :\
I think making Sprint always active in sanctuaries (Cities and the like) would improve this significantly. On the field it has a penalty for a reason, but there's no need for it in cities.
Will be in phase 4.

No need, once you get to a certain level as Lancer, (I think 5 allows you 1 additional ability) you can just equip Cure to your Lancer.
