Starting on Saturday I seemed to be getting a lot of the 90k errors. I started timing them and they seem to be occurring at exact intervals, an hour from whenever I login. I can still access the internet whenever I get booted but it takes a few minutes to get back in the game due to the 3102 error.

Tempted to pick up PS3 just so I can upgrade to PS4 version in 2014 lol.

How is the story compared to mainline FF games? Never really liked MMOs...and I don't think any of my friends will get this. :\

The story for the most part is quite enjoyable. A lot of it is gated behind leveling, and there are a few sections where the fetch-quests/level gap gets rather tedious, but I found it very satisfying
and as you might guess there's some "to be continued" style foreshadowing
Reminded me a bit of FF12.

Any news about what's in the first major content patch?

Sorry if it's been posted

http://zantetsuken.net/news/final-fantasy-xivs-patch-future-2-1-2-2-and-beyond

Please look forward to it.

Patch 2.1

  • Good King Moogle Mog will returning as a boss fight. More than likely he will be accessible through the duty finder. Please look forward to it.
  • A new difficulty for Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan fights will be added in this patch as well. They haven’t quite decided if they’ll call them hard, super, ultra, extreme, or any other awesome intense name. I can see it now. “Ifrit, for real this time”.
  • Two hard level dungeons and the Crystal Tower, a 24-man raid dungeon, will be added.
  • Also new Hildibrand quests and FATEs are being added. If you didn’t know, Hildibrand was a comic relief NPC from version 1.0. He has his own… unique sense of humor.
  • The Wolves Den, a 4v4 and 8v8 arena will be opening in this patch. You can travel to it by boat from Lower La Noscea, and to enter the arena you must use the Duty Finder.
  • And lastly, Mists, the La Noscea player housing region will be unlocked in 2.1. Houses are available to Free Companies and individual players for a monetary value.

Patch 2.2

  • New Primal fights will be introduced. Yoshida stated that they will be “ones that new players haven’t even imagined.”
  • Either Leviathan, Shiva or Ramuh will be in 2.2. It has yet to be revealed which one, but they all seem like fun fights and fun stories to flesh out!
  • Gilgamesh might make an appearance as a boss fight in either 2.2 or 2.3.
  • It is possible that Free Companies will have the ability to summon their own Primal (FATE?) battles in this patch. No concrete details have been announced though. If not 2.2 then possibly 2.3.

And Beyond!

  • Patch 2.3 is the target release for the Golden Saucer! The reason they haven’t revealed much about it is because they are currently busy working on it. They are hoping to have at least 3 mini games available before they release it into the game. Yoshida says perhaps a card game, a mini game, or a snowboarding game. I’d love to snowboard down Coerthas with my Lalafell!
  • It has also been confirmed that the first draft of the first expansion has been submitted! Obviously there is a lot of work to be done, but at least they are planning for the future!

Waited in queue for an hour to do a story quest dungeon lvl 32. Failed because time ran out. Now I gotta do it again. I hate these bottlenecks.

Recruit people right outside the dungeon, /shout and ask people in the area, and ask people in your FC (if you're in one). I usually don't wait too long if I use the aforementioned recruitment methods.

I know I'm late to the party, but anyone have any info on the PC Physical Collectors Edition availability? I'm having a very hard time finding any.

So what's the best way to earn end game money?

Some people were offering 60k for 125 Tome of Philosophy material which seems pretty reasonable - 1 and a bit runs of castrum.

But is there a better way?

Do tradecraft leaves. If you choose carefully you can end up making 10-30k per leave

UGH. Just witnessed a teleporting 'hacker' that is teleporting under mining nodes and not drawing aggro. I witnessed him suddenly appear and disappear like this in several locations. So lame, I hope they get on that shit. I sent a report.

Ugh. Tonight was very frustrating. Failed Stone Vigil because our healer was really really bad. I really hope he just had a wonky ping/connection because there was no excuse for constantly getting hit by the ring of ice over and over. What a sham. If we had even a slightly competent healer we would have beat that place first try.

Other than that this game is really fun and I'm enjoying the raids quite a bit. I do them more than I fate grind because they are simply more fun to do. Sunken Temple is probably the most fun so far (the last boss is really fun). It's just frustrating when one of the two most important slots in your group is occupied by someone that isn't as competent as they need to be. But when your group is a well oiled machine, the raids are really fun and I'm glad I'm finally in the bit when raids are not mindless anymore.

I'm also late to the party, but I can't find any edition anywhere (I don't really care about the collectors edition). Is there anywhere to buy this for non-extortionate prices? I'm in the UK, nobody seems to have stock of it either physically or digitally here.

Square Enix will hopefully open up digital sales some time this week since the servers have stabilized, and they're also allowing new characters to be made on many servers at the moment:

The Ascian dude reveal was kind of disappointing really.
Knew it was Thancred, he always happened to disappear when he was needed the most in the early battles (Ifrit being the best example), and everyone seemed to forget he even existed following the raid on the base(Also meant there was a traitor) up until the mission where he gets revealed...

Hey guys, seems I'm pretty late. I'm a legacy member with a character. But with the new mogstation thing, it's showing that I have the game, but I don't have any character available.

Did I lost my character? How can I retrieve it back? Did I missed doing something?

Please help. Thanks

Hey guys, outside of the instanced stuff, what kind of small group or duo activities are there? or is it mostly just solo grind stuff?

You can grind FATEs in a party up to 8 for a full party or 4 for a light party, which is recommended for power-leveling as you get a ton of EXP for mobs your party kills.

I'm at lvl47 and my next story quest is lvl49. Finished my hunting log, so I guess I have to grind Fates now...? How boring, what a lame way to end off the game :(

Is it possible that I missed a group of quests somewhere? I've been checking high lvl areas with no luck so far.

any examples? i only have a 23 miner
Most used items. Shards and ore for miner I'd assume. Just check the market to see what the stuff you can mine is going for I'd say.

I've personally got Botanist and Shards/Logs are the two good sellers from it.

Lucky, the one I need for Dragoon is 40k. I can afford it easily, got around 300k at the moment, however I don't really want to pay that much for stuff. :(

I had to spend 50k on Quicktongue Materia III, 8k on my Staff, and 5k on Grade 5 Carbonized Matter. That wasn't fun at all.

Goodness I just can't for the life of me get Infantry armor drops from Blayflox. Every time I go through it's Cavalry only. At least I got the green bow on my first run through Qarn because god help me I'm never going through that dungeon with a pug again

Just got to Copperbell mines, how difficult is it to tank? Reading the guide and it seems to be completely different from the first two. I'm a level 20 Mrd noob tank.
