Can you set a focus target on PS3? that's how I target all my bosses as the tank. Set focus, then when I got to round up any adds and see that the boss is casting something that I need to interrupt I just hit the 'target focus target' button and wham I'm back on the boss no matter if they're even on my screen.

You can also macro target's target to target the tanks target, or mark the target and target the mark

Anyone that says a Warrior can not tank Titan needs to learn how PLD and WAR work before they attempt at telling anyone a single thing ever again.

I've been trying to get THM to 26 for swiftcast for weeks. I just can't tolerate it for long.

I actually kind of like it mainly because I'm doing some damage and sleeping enemies, though I guess you only start worrying about that in Brayflox. It is a really basic rotation, but it's not all that bad.

I'm more worried about going back to ARC and focusing on DoT dmg up to 34 for that Eye for an Eye and I'm not sure if I want to roll SMN or SCH.

And GAF Brayflox expedition or Monster Hunter: Eorzea.

Brayflox wasn't too bad, provided that you have all party members that really know their shit (and our healer and tank were definitely on point). But the boss is definitely a test of everyone being on point. Hell, it was the first time I even had to use a Bard Song. And if the tank can't get the boss out of the poison floors, it'll regen faster than two good DPS's can compensate. I feel hella bad for getting wiped twice, but the third time was the charm for the group.

I think I'll re-run it a few times though; both for the rest of the infantry set (I'm surprised I even got two pieces of the infantry set) and for experience (not just EXP, but also how to play a Bard more effectively). Given the interaction required, I personally thought this was my favorite dungeon so far.

Yeah, between this and Haukke, I've enjoyed the recent dungeons but Brayflox really tests your mettle. I can see myself redoing it to get the rest of the Battlemage gear and just because it's pretty cool but it really tests you. I can see it being much easier on a second playthrough.

Anyone that says a Warrior can not tank Titan needs to learn how PLD and WAR work before they attempt at telling anyone a single thing ever again.

All gear equal, the PLD will have a huge advantage in this fight, and coil fights, over WAR. The WAR needs to be very over-geared for the fight and even then, the extra healing necessary puts more stress on the healers, and therefore the whole party.

I experienced this firsthand the past few weeks while I have been running Titan until my eyes bleed. Every time I have beaten Titan HM, a PLD has been tanking. Usually if there is a WAR in party, they are essentially forced into a gimped DPS role.

It's just more unnecessary risk to have a WAR tank in the endgame stuff which really bums me out because I was leveling a WAR as an alt and was looking forward to endgame stuff with it.

I haven't seen any tradecraft leves for Armorsmith other than "Make one of X item and turn it in." I've been unlocking the levemetes in every area too to make sure I get all of the delivery quests.

I would try asking some high level Armorers (who did not level in 1.X) what they did. If you are in the main FC on Ultros I'm sure we have somebody, and if not I would just look around a main town and ask.

It kills me that I can't find a decent leve online database though, that'd help a lot for stuff like this. The level you are at could be a "bad" period to work through but it seems strange that would happen so early in the craft.

So yeah it seems like me and everyone else on Ultros is stuck on this NPC to progress the story from a quest called "The Rose and the Unicorn"

He needs to be spoken with in order to complete it but he doesn't respond to anyone at the moment.

Yea I seen you there yesterday :/ I also need to return it myself. It's sad because I take my time to level and as soon as I get the urge to push the rest of the way to endgame as fast as I can, something like this is stopping me. I guess I shouldn't complain too much considering there has been people waiting on him to be fixed for over a week now...

Random question. What level do you get the quest to advance ranks after "Storm Sergeant First Class" The wiki only says 4k seals but when I apply for promotion it says I need to complete a quest I can't pick up yet. Someone was saying you need to be level 44? I don't understand how that works considering some of the stuff you can buy for that rank are level 41 weapons.

Seriously, gearing up a second job with DL is going to be a pain.

Im gearing my DRG, but I would like to gear my BRD too, because I like it. But man... Im already burned on grinding tomes, and Im still really far from finishing my DRG...

Is the WAR holding onto Wrath stacks, or spending them on Inner Beast? (Both strategies are viable but you need to know which to do and when..) Is he using Convalescence for the times when healing is most intense? Is he using Storm's Path whenever aggro isn't an issue? WAR tanking isn't really that hard, but I think that its toolkit is pretty broadly misunderstood and misused.

The 41/42 seal weapons are upgrades from NPC shop or quested whites until 49. And of course, you can slap them on another class.

Speaking of Tradecraft leves, the Ul'dah Adventurer's Guild has some good ones for Goldsmith. I'm currently abusing the hell out of a Level 25 one that only requires one Flourite Ring (which are easy as hell to make), and gives 50k a pop per HQ delivery. I have toh Ul'dah and the Quarrymill (where you deliver it) as favorite locations, so I end up making more gil than it costs to warp there and back as well.

If you are where I think you are then yea, you need to be 44, and that quest unlocks Darkhold, once you complete that you can rank up.

Same here. I usually like mages, but I'm just not feeling THM so far.

Ten more levels to go. o_o

I leveled up THM last week for it and found 15-20 pretty slow, but if you join FATE pts around Hawthorne that should help some. THM even at that level can chain the spawning mobs, and when you can do Highbridge you can help the pt get some amazing chains.

And Swiftcast is SO good it's sick, I don't know how I went so long without it.

Sunkken temple. Its a 35 optional dungeon. That'll really put you to the test. So fun. Last boss has quite a few mechianics.

Lol, THM isn't that bad. Shove Aero on it and do fates tagging everything with the DoT and get to 26. Swiftcast is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it.

Poor guy

170k going by market prices. I guess there could be worse materia to fail that many times on.

I was somewhat terrified of failing a FC member's relic meld since ALC does some healer ones (Quicktongue 3 wee), but the only times I have helped them I have had a 100% success chance, so I am not really sure what metrics make it lower. Is it higher level gear?

You cannot fail the relic meld as the weapons have the required slots needed. 1.x on the other hand . . . You'd lose your weapon and the materia. Millions gone.

i'm thinking they just allowed for relics to be 100%. i've done a bunch of lances and bows and every single meld is 100%

If the gear has available slots, it's always 100%. If you try to meld a materia into a gear with full slots, it becomes an Advanced Melding and then you can fail and lose the materia.

Same issue with me. :(

I've mostly been concentrating on dungeons and crafting/gathering, since I'm already Level 46 [halfway to 47] and I don't really want to level more than I already have.

I think you can only fail a meld once you are melding in slots that didn't originally exist.

Example I have a 2 slot lance:
Meld 1 - 100%
Meld 2 - 100%
Forbidden Meld 3 - 90%
Forbidden Meld 4 - 60%
Forbidden Meld 5 - 40%

Yep, I'm stuck there too. Looks like it's been like that for at least 2-3 days since that's when I last played. They really need to fix this ASAP since it's a story quest.

My story quest's been stalled out for 4 days now because of him. I wonder what the hold-up is on fixing this. :[

Sorry if this is a stupid question that has been ask a ton. But I pretty new to MMOs. How much of the story can I see playing alone? Also the content that I can't play single player - is it easy to find players waiting to play the same story mission/content?

Thanks for the help

The story will occasionally send you to complete light party dungeons (4 players) as quest objectives (starts at level 15 and you get a few here and there in the upper levels). Towards the end of the story you have to do 3 full party instances (8 players).

Shouldn't take super long to find a party especially for the later stuff.

Thanks. Does the game come with a free month? Or do you start right away paying the 14.99?

Where is the feature-request page because a cross-server friend list is truly necessary.
Second time now I come across a great party and we had loads of fun. But only to say goodbye and not be able to run a dungeon again together afterwards.

Does all the servers have a bajillion of people spamming about gold buying/trading? I'm in Faerie and it's annoying to open and add someone to the blacklist/report every single time I enter a town.

I'm in Masamune (JP). We don't really have this problem there.

Although I remember shitloads of gold farmers in Behemoth though.

So, for anyone who isn't max level yet...

Anyone having problems with the main quest line in Querthas? I think the guy's name is Francel or something.

A member of our FC got stuck at the first part when you need to talk to hom, he wouldn't respond to a click. Me and a friend were past that part, but eventually you need to speak to him again, and now we're stuck there as well. Just not doing anything.

Several people are in his room every time I go, so I'm wondering how widespread the problem is. Has anyone heard anything about it?

Just look above. :)

Several people, myself included, are stuck at him. It's been going on for around 3-4 days and, considering this is an NPC in a main storyline quest, that's pretty inexcusable. I know it was the weekend and everything, but that only amplifies the issue. So many people with free-time to play, and yet, unable to progress due to a bugged NPC. :(

I'm focusing on dungeons/crafting until they fix it, but it is frustrating. I want to complete the storyline and proceed with the rest of the game!

Argh. Okay, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke of some kind. It's pretty furstrating.

On the plus side, my Mining is 36 and my Leatherworking is 33. -_- Blacksmithing is lagging behind at 30, though.

First run of Haukke Manor in the books. Was super fun and refreshing to run a low level dungeon in an mmo that requires at least a bit of thought. Helped that my party consited of two guys who could speak very little english (they seemed to be speaking french) but were still super cool and helpful.

Hitting 30, should I just go back and level the class that unlocks PLD immediately? How important is having the job unlocked early?

Still gotta get in on the GAF LS at some point, I'm interested in the FC too but seems it's full.

Ugh. Warrior is desperate for a buff. They take too much damage.

Twice as much as PLD on Titan HM. I don't know the specifics of how PLD damage mitigation works but the Mountain Buster that does 2.2k damage on PLD when he pops the appropriate CD drops 4.5k on me. I'm using Garuda's Scream, AF+1 chest, and DL everything else except helmet. I am very overgeared for this fight and that is the damage I take. Note that I take 2x damage yet I do not have 2x the HP of PLD nor do heals have 2x potency on me vs. PLD.

Yeah, I was thinking it was on my end, as well, until I asked about it in FC chat. I expect these things close to launch, but not this far in. It surprised me.

Your gathering/crafting classes are definitely higher than mine! They're mostly in the 10-20 level range as I've been neglecting them due to my BLM class. Maybe this bug will force me to correct that.

It's sad if the development team don't see this as a problem.
