Lol I think someone in the FC blacklisted me today for expressing an opinion. He typed his blacklist command so fast he typoed it and sent it into FC chat. Then he pretended it was a mistell.

Awkward.

But really, what a dumb reason to blacklist other people.

So what did you say

Just curious

In your inn room you have the summoning bell for yourself. It's where I head all the time, as it's not that far away from the market.

Yeah, I use it a majority of the time.

Just hate dealing with the mass of people when I need to keep going back and forth between my retainers and the markets.

Oh well, first world problems I suppose lol.

50 Carpenter added today. Byregot's Blessing is nice, but as it removes the Inner Quiet stacks just like Rumination I still find myself using Rumination just as often if not more near the end of my crafts. The last five levels of carpenter are really easy due to a leve in Gridania to turn in five mahogany lumber, which can be done three times giving around 240k exp per leve with HQ lumber.

On another note, carpenters really get gypped on making money with endgame crafts. Four one-star greens vs 28 on weaver, three two-star greens vs 12 on weaver. Hopefully this will change when housing comes along.

Next priority is clearly Steady Hand II from Culinarian.

So is there a list somewhere of recommended skills to reach in other classes (or in CNJ +15) that help a Paladin?

most useful one is stoneskin. it's a nice thing to cast in combat when nothing's happening to take some pressure off healers
and then protect for soloing
and finally revive but only out of combat since we don't have the in combat raise trait but you might as well slot it cause it's not like those good for nothing warrior skills are gonna be taking up all the slots

I don't think tacos are all that great.
Come /blist me bros!

The taco commitee must convene.

On a serious note, its not online ff without drama creeping up somehow.

Regardless...even though i dont hold a higher position, no one should shy away from expressing opinions...unless they are obviously inflammatory.

i really hope they revamp bard, what they did to them in ff14 is horrible. their weapon looks atrocious, and having the game so regimented into dps, healer, tank is kind of disappointing, especially since 11 allowed you to play classes in a huge variety of ways.

So basically my CPU isn't nearly bad enough to explain my framerate? That's good... in a way, lol.

And I never said unbuffed. And I have seen many blms easily able to reach 3.4k without downing titan before. This is 3.4k while in the titan fight so all buffs apply. I am not sure what you are trying to argue. Yeah you can't hit 50 and have that much hp, but it isn't hard either.

I responded to a post saying that you dont need to have full DL as long as youre close or at 3.4K saying that 3.2K unbuffed is a stretch for BLM, you responded that a) BLM have more base HP than healers (which is incorrect), b) that you have 3.8k with your relic weapon (nice for you I guess) and c) that you were including buffs in your 3.4K. I then clarified my position that I was talking about unbuffed and now here we are. So right back at you, Ive no idea what youre trying to argue.

As for it not being hard, well it may not be hard but it is time consuming, the only way for a BLM to get 3.4K plus HP is to have at least an Ifrit weapon as well as Darklight Head, Chest, Gloves, Waist, Legs and Boots, as well as being in a party with a tank and using buff food.

Most 11 jobs were tied to one very specific role, at least in the first years. Of course if only ARR had 2 expansions already like 11 did on NA/EU maybe we could compare rightfully.

Wrong.
Next priority is Ingenuity from BSM15.
on starred crafts, it's hands-down the best skill.
For reference, a Careful Syntehsis II without Ingenuity gives me 47 progress, with Ingenuity I 93, and with Ingenuity II 99.

How difficult is it to get a Vanya Robe of Healing?

9 potash hard. (1125 philosophy) plus 4 HQ Twinthreads, which is another 50k, plus crafting fees, which will be another 50k (at least)

On Shiva, atleast..

To be honest the options you have are limited and generally not that great. I obviously don't have Stoneskin yet but I got Marauder to 26 for mercy stroke and was thoroughly disappointed in its massive cooldown. It's free damage though, since it costs nothing and is off the global cooldown. Foresight is an obvious must, I get some use out of fracture (when pulling multiple enemies), and bloodbath is decent.

As for Conjurer, I leveled it before Gladiator. Cure was good for soloing early on and basically made me unkillable, but its power really doesn't keep up with your hp levels at all. Stoneskin looks interesting but I do NOT have the patience to get conjurer up that high because playing that class is just insufferable. And it doesn't sound remotely useful in endgame grouping...if I was soloing I'd maybe use it though.

wrongway, thanks again for helping my sorry ass out on yet another run. You are a beastly tank and this Stone Vigil run was perfect. And hell yeah, my first time in the place and I don't die once! Hell yeah!

Sigh, I really should just deactivate /shout altogether. Not only is RMT still rampant, but the new calls about "must be well geared, experienced for -any- content at all" are going on my nerves as well. Mor Dhona was so nice and quiet in 1.0, at least back then, the majority of those guys were in Ul'dah all day. Now they are everywhere.

Edit:
We are looking for full darklight and relic weapon paladin and dps for our static coil group. We run Tuesday Friday Sunday at 7:30pst

Goddammit! Not here too!

I can probably do that (PLD) but I would need someone to teach me the fights intiially.

How long is each session? I usually have something uh...9:30~11PM PST on Tuesdays and Sun.

Some people want to do AK/CM/Prae fast, and there's nothing wrong with asking to be geared/relic for Coil. If anything you're being a complete idiot by going in there not geared and wasting peoples time.

not calling you particularly an idiot, but anyone trying Titan/Coil in bad gear.

I know, man, I know. I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time either.
I think it's just the official forums getting to me. I avoided them throughout 1.0, but now I can't stop reading them and it's prolly affecting my brain cells a bit.
Apologies to all.

Will go fishing/shark hunting instead.

Those in Gathered Against Fate, dont forget about the event schedule / scheduling events through the guildwork page.

Edit: People should want to have the best gear at their level anyway. Honestly, people shouldnt have to shout for specific geared players since you'd think someone not up to par wouldnt answer the call.

So what did you say
I didn't say anything, that member never said anything else in chat for the hours after that I was logged in. I only mention it here because the fudged blacklist command showing up in FC chat was faintly amusing, and because someone blacklisting another person for making an opinion/comment that he disagreed with is not an action I consider good for community. There's people who go, "I paid money for this experience, I do whatever the hell I want" and perhaps that's legitimate from a money point of view. But blocking off alternate opinions and expressions just costs you as a human being; even heated arguments are better than walls.

Interesting. I'll probably pick it up then since it's pretty easy to get. I didn't know it brought stars down like that, thanks for the info.

Edit: I just discovered Great Strides stacks with Byregot's Blessing. Crazy.

Does anyone here use food? Ever? It irks me that my Coil group never uses food, or if they do it's really shitty food.

I can see not using it in pugs/easy stuff because of the high chance of wasting it, but I dunno.

I also realize the stats aren't great when compared to say XI food, but it's better than nothing.

All the time, especially when leveling Botanist or Arcanist or Thamurtage. I find the buffs, minor as they are, a bit helpful.

On a separate note, leveling Arcanist is a major major drag.

I use food. It's cheap why not.

That crippling realization when you notice that the "Mining Your Own Business: La Noscea IV" achievement can only be obtained in one area, with three level 31-35 items. Don't even get much EXP out of them anymore, but still have 1000 more to go...

Hate these goddamn people. Jeebus. At least it's easy to blacklist the ones with normal names.

Use /blist add <r>

Fastest and efficient way of dealing with tells

You won't believe how insane the grind is

Long time raider, so have the mentality of getting whatever little advantage we can get when learning a fight, usually each attempt costs about 2k gil in overpriced combat food for myself.

Food is awesome. Extra exp % bonuses along with stats? Who wouldnt go into battle on a full stomach!

Cheap food from vendor is f'n awesome

Tank - Boiled Egg if FATE/Soloing, Flatbread if Pugging
Mage - Raisins
Gatherer - Rabbit Pie/Jack O' Lantern

Wow some people are vindictive on mumble, GG Strawberry

Just cause I leave the FC, you boot me from the mumble even though I'm not in your chat portal and was talking with other people, wow, so I was right

I supply food to whoever asks me, which has only been like three people. Most people won't use food simply because it doesn't persist after death. I'd like to be able to sell the top tier stuff at an affordable price, but the two star stuff requires me to use clusters and some crazy expensive materials.

For most people, the prospect of dying and losing a 3k gil buff isn't very attractive.
