Canceled my subscription tonight. Have about 14 days left but not sure if I'll play during all of them. There is a LOT about the game I really enjoy but I'm getting frustrated to easily at times. Logged in tonight and got up to another solo duty (currently level 42) and just had enough. I want to see more of the story as I like it but I'm tired of the some of the crap I have to go through in order to see it.

My gaming time can be put to better use I feel with games that don't cause that frustration. The last few days I haven't been playing much. I managed to finish Pikmin 3 instead and made more progress in Shin Megami Tensei IV in that time. Both games I had been neglecting since I started playing FFXIV. If I get the desire to play a MMO again or just FFXIV again to experience the gameplay or something similar to it I think I'm going to put in Xenoblade Chronicles again or Final Fantasy 12 (I never did finish it but that means I have to hook my PS2 back up since my PS3 can't play PS2 games) first to see if they satisfy the desire first.

On the day of our Lorde, October 4, 2013, Kookabura Gumtree has graduated from the Culinary Institute of Doome. All clothing was woven by I
, though the cost of materials were not covered by tuition.

Congrats kookabura! So doome, you starting up a school?

people with LAG should try a wired connection if possible. i can't imagine playing online games wireless. the difference is huge. i tested this with XIV a couple weeks ago. yea, i rather not play like that again.

Brayflox's Longstop went really smooth last night. Finally had a group where everyone knew what they were doing and whenever we wiped, we checked what went wrong and made sure it didn't happen again.
The tank was new to the dungeon and did everything right for the Aiatar fight after telling him what to watch out for.
I leveled to 35 for turning in the story quest and got 3 green drops from the run out of which 2 items were significant upgrades to my already up to date equipment (belt and hat). Funny how a bandana can have 19 more defense than a steel helmet...

My Carpenter is now Lv 19 but I realized that I can't meld anything because all my stuff is too high level. Well, I might need it at some point. I think I'll level Botanist before I continue leveling Carpenter so I don't have to spend as much leveling further.

I can only play casually so I'm pretty far behind everyone else. Just reached level 11 tonight. The WoL helm looks awesome. Still trying to decide between my Ultros char and another server...

Until they add that gearscore check for things like Titan HM, I will agree with that. I personally feel like 3 healers is way overkill for Titan HM in most cases (with a good group, of course). For people who don't know what they are doing, no amount of healers will save them. xD

I honestly suspect most people use the DF for Titan HM as practice before getting into a group on their server. Which honestly isn't a bad idea. :P

---

@Lag - most of the time, I don't find this a very valid excuse on something like Titan HM. Like I said earlier, the abilities Titan uses are predictable and you should know what's coming next and be ready to move (or start moving early). As far as the bombs, as soon as the landslide animation hits, the first set of bombs starts exploding, so you can start running sooner than I suspect most people actually do (who end up getting hit by a bomb). *shrug* Now, there are instances were the servers themselves are actually lagging and you will r0 some. You can't help that. D:
I personally found out that people that try the 3 healer set up aren't experienced with titan...

I could never kill Titan with 3 healers and i tried LOTS of times, i killed Titan 10+ times, many 1st tries with just 2 healers and 5 dps

3 healers set up should just be ignored

Well, beat Chimera and AK a second time. Oddly AK went less smoothly the second time than the first, but, overall I felt like my game was a bit off tonight.

Odd how that is, isn't it. One night you're on a roll and going through things hecka smoothly, the next you're derping all over the place. That might just be my relative inexperience with MMO's though.

anybody can help out on garuda and titan hm?
hopefully ultros gaf can do an event, i bet this will help a lot of people in our guild

You aren't supposed to do AK with 100 % efficiency until you've done it more than 5 times

Scholar or Summoner?
Just hit level 20 and about to travel as an envoy first time and trying to decide which city to go to.

I like the idea of a Conjuror better but I'm wondering of ultimately Summoner is just more fun

The answer is yes.

I found this out today (I wanted to actually level a Scholar and Summoner to 50 to fill in my DPS and Healer roles since my PLD is my "main") but Scholar and Summoner both branch off of Arcanist. So they will (technically) both reach 50 at the same time. It doesn't matter which seal you wear for the job, the level of the Summoner and/or Scholar is tied to the level of the Arcanist so since you are always leveling the arcanist, no matter the job, both Summoner and Scholar level concurrently.

The only thing you have to make note of is which stat your putting your extra attribute points into. Truthfully this isn't too much of a concern (I think it's 50 pts total from 10 to 50 but don't quote me on that). Which means that you will either have to split up the points, or just devote yourself fully to Int or Mind.I'm not sure how else to get around this and if anyone else has any advice on this, that'd be appreciated. I'm currently a Lv 36 Arcanist so I'm not too far in the rabbit hole for my attribute points, but I'm not sure how huge of an influence it will be to fully invest into one or the other and how that will affect the other job.

I'm currently putting my points into Int since I'm probably going to be using the Summoner more often than the Scholar but if I ever need to fill a healer roll, I could fall on the scholar but I'd be lacking in however many attribute points. I'm not sure how big of a deal this is, though. Could always just use the GC respec potion but that's 10,000 seals each time.

Bought the PS3 version and have been playing non-stop for 3 days. This game is ace. My main (and only) character so far is a Miqo'te Archer, dabbling into Botany and Carpentry. Now my question is, I think I'd rather play the game on PC (will have to bootcamp my mac), do I have to purchase the PC version or will my Square Enix ID be enough?

Gotta buy it separately unfortunately.

Your PS3 key does let you play on the PS4 apparently however.

You need to buy the game again and register it to your current square enix id (this will also give you 30 days play time).

Some of the ground effects cover the circle. Needs to be fixed :(

The ground effects have a neat ability of covering the red zones on the ground as well that you're supposed to move out of. You would think that the red zones would have layering priority over the AoEs players lay down, but I guess Squenix disagrees.

I prefer Prae because there's less chances of someone fucking up than in CM (like the cannons dying or aggroing unnecessary enemies). Prae only has like 2 or 3 trash pulls that you have to kill in the whole thing, and the rest is just a boss gauntlet. With a geared group, they die so fast.

But on the flipside, without gear, Prae can be just as slow as CM

Prae feels like a lot more work for the 20 minutes also for some reason compared to CM.
This is the exact opposite of how I feel. CM is too much work for the 100, I'd much rather do some magitek BS and then four bosses in a row than awful ass CM where bad players get cannons destroyed every run.

Closing on my first million Gil, I'm basically the mats supplier on the Ultros Server, mostly Leathers. I'm lv 50 Leatherworker, Weaver & Carpenter. Working on Culinarian then Blacksmith next. I see these high-level crafters over-clocking Materia on their armor, is there a quest you have to complete to do this? When I select an item with full Materua slots it says I can't add anymore.

Also is there a Max Materia guide somewhere? For example is the cap of +3 CP on the HQ Leatherworkers Workboots the same for ALL HQ Leatherworkers Workboots? I want to start adding Materia to my wares, but when players see "red" numbers I notice that it won't sell well.

BTW, I don't think players know that of the 5 pieces of Leatherworker Lv 50* items that the Workboots are the only piece you can add CP to. That 3 CP can mean a difference between Steady Hand or Steady Hand II.

I made 3 - 4 pieces of each HQ Leatherworker gear and I checked each one and only the Workboots could add CP, I just want to know if it's universal before I start melding for sale.

If you see Jade Nephrite crafting in the alcove in the South Market Board in Old Grindiana, that's me :(

Agreed. Prae feels like a gentle stroll with not much work required, lol (compared to CM, anyways).

My life is complete.

So a question to you, and anyone that has done so. How do you get higher than a bronze on Odin/Behemoth? Every time i've done it, i struggle to even see the damn enemy, but even doing some (what i thought to be) solid damage, I still end up with 10gil and 15 seals and a big sad face. :(

Arrow in the front, opening in the back.

the directional indicator is hidden due to either the AoE on the ground or something whacky with the position of the camera. i know i can use target of target but it would be nice to just be able to tell immediately if everything worked right. then again we still have incorrect tooltips or tooltips in Japanese, so who knows when this'll get fixed.

It's called Advanced Melding. Go to the same place you got the ability to meld materia to get it. Don't forget to bring 8 materias and equipment to meld.

MMO games are just not for some people

Maybe but I've been playing mmos since Everquest 1: Ruins of Kunark. For a few years they were all I played. My patience for some things just lessens and lessens every time I play them though. There is a lot in FFXIV that I enjoy but some things about just get to me.

Finally restarted this game; looks like I got purged from the GAF guild while I was gone. I got an invitation to join the "Assassins" within minutes of turning the game on, and I joined them, but I'd much rather be with GAF. Is there a second linkshell if the original is full? I'm around level 15 and am a Thaumaturge with some Weaving as a backup. On the casual side of things.
