Any WHM on that has already melded the material needed to the relic item for the relic quest? I'm curious about the best items to convert to get the materia and how much it cost to get it melded. I know I can do it myself if I have alchemist leveled up to 50, but if possible, I'd like to avoid doing that unless having someone do it is insanely expensive.

Posting on a new page if anyone knows. Might have more luck in-game, but I'm trying to do some prelim research before I get home tonight and the internet hasn't been all that helpful so far, at least on materia and item costs.

Based on the small amount of info I do have it seems like it might almost be better to just level alchemy on top of everything else I need to level (botany, weaver, woodworking, leathercrafting).

Follow the story quest. It'll move you from area to area and as you arrive, there will be other quests within the area as well. Note that a lot of these quests don't actually appear until you advance the story quest to that area.

Just do your story quests, side quests are usually scattered around those.

More will be added, they are just doing it progressively.

Although it is possible to add several new Worlds due to load balancing on servers, an increased number of players able to login simultaneously to various Worlds, and New Character Creation being possible again on various Worlds as a result of this maintenance, we will only be adding a minimal number of Worlds at this time directly after maintenance.

Just convert DoM gear from level 40?45? to 50 into materia. It's random what exact stat you get, but DoM gear will give DoM materia (just like DoH gear gives DoH materia, etc.). If you don't get what you need, sell them and buy the materia you need or just get new gear to spirit bind and try again.

Melding should be pretty cheap, it only takes a crafter like 5 seconds to do a meld, just give them a tip or have a friend do it.

Hmm. Well, hopefully this is caused by the errors and people unable to play rather than the decreased scope of the duty finder.

Well, there is a recommendations window which should give you info about things around your level.

I believe that only works for the zone you are in at the time. You might still have to walk around aimlessly.

For level 3 materia the item needs to be level 45-49. It also needs to have the item you're looking for as the materia will pick a stat from those on the item.

What do you mean by "safe"?

Well before when I logged in I could face a 90k error but I would be able to keep playing. Once you were in, everything was more or less working. Now you have high chances of being stuck into oblivion for hours even if you defeat 1017.

When you do the level 10 story quest you unlock the Armory. This lets you switch classes. Gathering and Crafting are full classes like the combat ones, so you have to go to their guild and join up.

Depending on your starting city, you'll have to unlock the Airship to travel before you can even get to some of the guilds to join.

Yes indeed, but also mentions guildhest and other instances avaliable.

The best way to reach zones to level up is follow the storyline, they send you to the leveling path.

We're clinging on to "wait after everyone's free month trial is over" now.

From wait until Early Access is over to wait a week after launch to wait until the 10 hour maintainence to wait until the extra data centers are up.

I would recommend the level 49 crafted gem rings that have the stats on them you're looking for. I'm not sure what the meld that WHM needs...Quicktongue? If so, spirit bind Turquoise jewelery, for example. Doesn't need to be green/pink, can be crafted whites, NQ or HQ.

Game is pretty at day. Meh at night imo.

That's probably just how the game is I think, the lighting is pretty weak at night, everything looks bright, which works well during day/sunset but at night time it's just kind of terrible looking.

Maybe you could adjust the contrast using sweetfx but it will probably make daytime worse.
